GLOBAL WARMING MAY TRIGGER TO WAR

he Inter-GovernmentalPanel OnClimate Change (IPCC) had submitted 2600 pages long report at the recently convened global meet on 31st March 2014 under the auspicious of United S.GANAPATHY 98401 50211 Nations Organization held at Yokahama in Japan. Hundreds of top scientists and representativesof various governmental agencies in the world attended the meet and the research is still conducted thorough. They had issued a stern warning that the very sustenance of water will be under serious threat in future which may precipitate that may trigger to third global war. Water will be a scarce resource, very costly rather than petrol or diesel. The report further says that there will be drought conditions, scarce water crisis, dwindled food productions in the world. Countries like India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and China will reel under difficulties and face worst calamities that may lead to war some times. What is global warming? It is the ecological and social change caused directly or indirectly by human emission of greenhouse gases like carbon-di-oxide, methane, Sulphur-di-oxide, burning of fossil fuels etc. activated by human as primary drivers. It is an increase in the earths average atmospheric temperature that causes corresponding change in climate with adverse effects. Climate change is the threatening phenomenon among all countries even oceans causing severe floods, typhoon, heavy rainfall, heat waves and wild fire. The IPCC warns that no country is prepared to face the onslaughts, holocausts and no plan to safeguard from the natural havocs. The eminent Indian environmental scientist and Chairman of IPCC RajendraPachauri says that nobody can escape from natural disasters which cause severe damages and destruction of life and property. There will be drastic changes in rainfall. In view of incessant drought conditions that cause scarce food, water scarcity, scarce space for dwelling houses and shortage of property etc., There will be poverty, pestilence, displacement of dwelling places, stiff competition for utilization of natural resources. The greatest danger is awaited for humanity as a whole as per the Green peas Organization consultant, KaisaKosannan. What is the threat? The report cautions that it may result in intense hurricane, tempest, heavy floods or unusual weather conditions. Fish or other sea-species/ creatures are affected. It also affects the ecosystem by melting sea-ice, algae and reduces the oceans ability to absorb Co2. It is undoubtedly the greatest threat to the humanity has to face in the next 100 years. Examples of disruption include disturbances such as fire, drought, pest infection, invasion of species, storms, coral bleaching events, etc. It may be a strong drive of biodiversity lost globally in another 20 to 30 years of plant and animal species, coral reefs, high risk of extinction. Itll greatly impact agriculture, food production, food security resulting in more hunger, pestilence, malnourishment, etc. Due to increase in sea level, therell be salinization of ground water, estuaries, and decrease in fresh water availability. Migration of people and conflicts will arise either politically or militarily. The ice caps in Himalayan glaciers and artic regions will be melting rather supplies collapsing leading to heat waves and heavy rains. The report concluded with the warning that reveals that the worst is yet to come. There is a possibility of violent conflicts over land, water and other resources. Who is responsible for the natural disaster? The main cause for all the awful situations is due to our own human mistakes and misdeads. Destruction of natural resources and environmental natural balance and pollution are the principal cause for damage and disaster .We consume heavily electricity and petrol to a greaterextent. We produce electricity heavily dependent and the consumption of coal that emits high degree of carbon-di-oxide and methane etc., which stimulates global warming . Because of this the sea level if going up, Snow Mountains are melting causing heavy rainfall with high currents that sweeps away everything on the way. This causes climate changes. The maximum temperature goes up to 4 degree c and average temperature between 1 to 2 degree C which may cause colossal damages in the world. The report also warns that by year 2100, the sea level will go up by 1 foot to 2 feet height. The cultivation and production of rice, wheat and maize will be badly affected. There will be more infectious diseases due to mosquitoes and pollution of water. Owing sharp rise in temperature by 2 degrees centigrade, there is every possibility for the immediate reduction of global income by maximum 2%. For a country like India, the domestic production of commodities will be dip by 1%, if the maximum temperature rises by 1 Degree centigrade. The poverty will go up and the economy will be totally shattered. There will be impact of galloping inflation which is direct impact with climate changes as per our scientist AmorarRevi. contd Page 6

problem for any acquisition of area, if required. Under the above circumstances, it is requested to implement the captioned project immediately as promised by the Chief Minister in the larger interests of the commuters and request not to\ shelve this important project once for all.

t is learnt that the pet Monorail Project of the Chief Minister, J.Jayalalithaa connecting Poonamalee to Vadapalani via Porur and Valasaravakkam and other areas are the most welcome project which is people-friendly are in woe and in teething problems. There is no direct rail link to Vadapalani. Since most of the metro buses are overcrowded, it will be a boon for the public to have such a facility for which they hoped for. Three companies had bid for the project but none of them has conformed to the government's specifications. Already Mumbai has the monorail network facility which is the first and foremost in India. It seems that only a few companies have the monorail technology in the world. Union Urban Ministry says that it is not viable for private players and says that BRTS {Bus Rapid Transport System} is feasible. No much space is required for implementing the project. It will not pose any big

business executive was deep in debt. Banks were demand ing repayment. He sat on the park bench, head in hands, wondering if anything could save him.Suddenly an old man appeared before him. Can I help he said. After listening to the executives story, the old man said, I can help you. He wrote out a check for Rs.500,000/- , and disappeared, saying he will meet again after exactly a year. The executive found new confidence. He put the uncashed check in his safe. Just knowing it was there gave him strength to work out a way to save his business, he thought. With renewed optimism, he negotiated better deals. He closed several big sales. Within a few months, he was out of debt and making money once again. Exactly one year later, he returned to the park with the uncashed check. At the agreed-upon time, the old man appeared. But just as the executive was about to hand back the check and share his success story, a nurse came running up and grabbed the old man. Im so glad I caught him! she said. I hope he hasnt been bothering you. Hes always escaping from the hospital and telling people hes a rich man. And she led the old man away by the arm. The astonished executive just stood there, stunned. All year long hed been wheeling and dealing, buying and selling, convinced he had half a million rupees in his safe to back him up... Then, he realized that it wasnt money, that had turned his life around. It was his new found selfconfidence that gave him the power to achieve his goals . . . .

GLOBAL WARMING

contd from PAGE 3...

How it affect India? The climate changes have already affected India which has a devastating effect causing colossal damages and heavy losses. Most numbers of islands in Sundarbans in Bengal have gone into sea and has vanished. The Himalayas has started melting causing huge flash floods. The major big rivers may become heavily flooded or dry. The poor people living in the gangetic plains will be worst affected. Vast changes will occur in the rivers like Bhramaputra and Sindh. There will be more disaster in states like Kerala and Goa which may face rise in sea level. The tourism industry in the region will be badly hit. The major portions of Mumbai and Kolkatta will be engulfed by sea in another hundred years. We had recently experienced such vast devastations in states like Uttarkand and Oddisa .How to arrest this trend? It is imperative that the Government should take remedial measure to stop this menace of natural disaster. The World Health Organizations says that we can save nearly 20 to 25 lakhs of people from death or healthdeficiency if we reduce emissions like carbon-di-oxide and methane in the air. Usage of water should be minimal. More public parks and gardens should be laid. Government should take steps to protect people from living in danger zones and ask them to move. The great scientist KaisaKonnan says that we are walking on a tight rope. The immediate need of the hour is to reduce emissions like carbon-dioxide and methane to save the humanity. There is a lurking danger and a possibility that the rope may be cut due to our own faulty actions and misdeeds. What is our responsibility? It is needless to say that government should act immediately to curb environmental pollution, as a responsible citizen it is the bounden duty of each citizen to follow certain rituals on their own in public interest. Avoid deforestation, plant more trees, do not disturb nature by exploitation, automobiles like cars, air conditioners and refrigerators that emit gas which disturbsozone in nature creating a hole is harmful ,should be minimized in use. There should be a holiday preferablySunday from the use of automobiles so that we can save to large extent of fuel cost as well as avoid polluting the environment. What steps should be taken? It is a great challenge to address since our coordinated challenge is to create solutions that protect the environment without undermining the long term solution and coordinated national network. There should be carbon-di-oxide capture and storage safeguards. Protection of ozone layers in the atmosphere to mitigate the evil effects of radiation effects, issues related to hydroflurocarbons and perflurocarbons . We have to switch over from oil, coal and gas to renewable energy like solar power etc. Plant more trees to absorb CO2 and produce oxygen. Generate less electricity to lessen CO2 in the atmosphere. More public transport must be used to mitigate the vehicle populations on the road. These steps may help to save to some extent to keep the environment clean and greenery to offset global warming which is a grave threat to humanity and all living beings. If we make smaller sacrifices now in the way we live,. We can avoid huge changes in the future. The scientists, government and individuals must work together in a co-ordinated manner to overcome the perceived threat from global warming to save the humanity and other living beings.

pilepsy, a seizure disorder, struck Mr. Haridaslife when he was barely five months old. As months passed by, he was struck by fits, panic attack and loss of consciousness. He then began to live his life with three kinds of seizures for more than 40 years without any cure. Medicines proved futile and surgery became the only viable option for reduction of his seizure. At the age of 43, Haridasunderwent a successful major neurosurgery on his right forehead and in the 45th year he became 100% free from all kinds of seizures with permanent cure from epilepsy. Epilepsy took a huge toll on his life and health and ruined his career. He could not come up in life and live in peace and happiness because of different kinds of recurrent seizures that occurred at any time and any place. Epilepsy brought lot of difficulties and embarrassment from others and became a burden not only to him throughout his life but also affected many people, his parents, relatives, society, superiors and colleagues of all the organizations where he worked, says Haridas. With its downfall, his life has changed drastically that he is not only seeing huge difference in in his health Book Buddies but also massive changes in his family, outlook, at home, at work place and particularly in his life, he shares. Mr. Haridas has written an autobiography titled My Experience with Epilepsy for the wellbeing of epileptic patients who have been completely lost. His book speaks about his true life and his struggle against epilepsy and how he survived from the jaws of the death until when surgery gave him a new lease of life. The book has some emotional and many interesting chapters that will be fascinating and exciting to read. His book tells of anecdotes in his life that will inspire others. Haridaslived his life to the fullest and inspired all those around him with his humour and compassion. He showed everyone he met that life is made by how we choose to live with it, despite our circumstances, not because of them. According to him, sending a message about surgery benefits will open the eyes of the blind and help them to see that one day they too can follow his steps and lead others out of darkness.
