SCENARIO 1

Sarah is an 11 years old. She was born into an educated family that appreciates reading.However, Sarah expresses frustration when she is asked to read and she often states this is stupid and I can not understand what I am reading. She has week reading vocabulary, which means that she does not know the needed words to understand what she reads. Sarahs mother realized that Sarah asks her a lot about the meaning of the words. As a result, Sarah loses her motivation to read. Her mother is concerned about her because her mother knows that vocabulary plays a fundamental role in the reading process.

Sarah opens up the ebook application and she clicks on either button to browze the activities and then she clicks on read the story.

The rst page of the story includes visuals, text, browzing button and home page button. In the text the new vocabulary is highlited. Sarah will click on one of them.

She is directed to a page that explains the word for her through text and image. After she is done she will click on the exit button (x).

Sarah has moved to the second page. At second page, she starts to see two arrows to move forward or backward.

Suddenly, the application turned off.

When Sarah reopned the application, she has two options: the rst onr is to read from bookmark and the second option is to start over.

Sarah, decided to read from the bookmark so she was re-directed to the page that she stopped at.

SCENARIO 2
Annah is an 11 years old girl. Her father is a diplomat. She goes to school where she is not taught in her native language. The main language at the school is English. Annah is a smart girl. She learned the language very quickly. She understand when her friends and teachers talk and she is able to process and digest the new words faster than her peers. However, Annah has low level of phonological and phonemic awareness. In other words, she is not able to correctly pronounce the new words in the story. She often read the word based on the rst letter and not based on the phonological and phonemic rules. She always express her anger toward reading with the statement I HATE READING . Her mother realized that she reads very slowly. She also noticed that her daughter is distracted from understanding the reading because she is worried how to sound the new words. Unfortunately, the pronunciation problem did not only affect her motivation to read only but it also affect her social life. Annah does not like to communicate or talk to her friends because they make fun of her when she mispronounces the word When Annah opens the application, she is asked to register her info. She has to write her name, age, date of birth and take picture of herself. After she puts the info, she is automatically directed to choose between listen to the story or read your own. Annah choose to read on her own.

Annah raeds the story and she noticed that there is a word that she cannot read. She clicks on the sound button next to the word.

Annah is directed to a page where she can listen to the word. After she is done she clickes on the exit button.

Annah is back to the page that she left and she continues to read the story.

SCENARIO 3
Ahmed is an eight years old boy. He is super active and enjoys physical activities the most.He loves watching cartoon and he enjoys playing video games. Ahmeds parents enrolled him in childrens book club. At the book club observers noticed that Ahmed skips lines and forget some words while reading. They also noticed that Ahmed escape the exercises at the end of the story which demand sustained mental effort. Another major observation is that Ahmed get easily distracted and he leaves seat while he is expected to remain in it. Above all, Ahmed bursts into tears before he goes to the club. He lack motivation to read when he is compared to his peers at the club. Consultants at the book club diagnosed Ahmed with ATTENTION DEFICIT HYPERACTIVITY DISORDER (ADHD). ADHD caused him to perform such an attitude.

Once Ahmed opens the app he is welcomed with an intresting visual and an option to start. Note that he is kept involved from the beginig through visuals.

After that Ahmed chooses from two options read and play or read only.

Ahmed selectes read and play. His eyes is immediately looking for the play option.

Once he clickes on play, he is aked to choose colour and a tool (pencil or brush) and then start the activity.

He clicked on the exit button and he was directed back to the page where he stopped. The image that he painted appers on the dispaly and replce the default image. Note that the app saves the work by default.
