What

Can I Do?

Today, some billionaire will write a million dollar check to some extremist organization to
restrict you from accessing, using or owning your western lands. Today, those same
extremist organizations will file lawsuit after lawsuit to block your access, use and
ownership of your western lands. Today, some federal agency or bureaucrat will impose a
new federal edict that shuts off your access, use or ownership of your western lands.

What will you do today?

The statehood promise is the same for all states that the federal government would
dispose of or extinguish title (i.e. transfer away title) to the public lands within each
newly created state. Congress honored this promise with Hawaii and all states east of
Colorado. Did you know that the lands of IL, MO, IN, AR, LA, AL, MS, FL and others were as
much as 90% federally controlled for decades? One man one courageous leader took up
their cause and battled within Congress for years and succeeded in compelling Congress to
transfer their public lands. His name is Thomas Hart Benton, U.S. Senator from Missouri of
whom President John F. Kennedy wrote in his best-selling book Profiles in Courage.

Failed federal policies are destroying our forests and watershed for generations, shutting
off access for grazing and recreation, and stifling jobs and economic growth locally and
nationally by locking up hundreds of trillions of dollars in abundant natural resources.

Compelling Congress to honor, to willing western states, the same statehood promise to
transfer the public lands that it honored with Hawaii and all states east of Colorado is The
Only Solution Big Enough to (i) fund education, (ii) better care for our lands and forests,
(iii) protect access, (iv) create jobs, and (v) grow local, state, and national economies and
tax base.

Leverage Your Voice It only takes a few people to get a city, county, organization or state
to pass resolutions and gather petitions to urge all local, state and national representatives
to exert their utmost energies and abilities to secure the transfer of our public lands as the
only solution big enough for our local communities, states and nation. [list of/links to
