YS BODY SHOP Keeping in shape never got easier. This
low-impact class is designed for the active older adult or for those
who need a level one class to get them moving. Core work
included.
H.I.I.T. High Intensity Interval Training. Take your exercise
routine to a new level or give it a push. This timed interval class
will focus on 1 to 2 minutes of high energy movements with 30
second recovery. Increase your energy, strength and endurance.
Give your Fit a H.I.I.T.
PILATES Down to the core with a little bit more. Utilizing a
breathing technique that engages your core throughout the work-
out, you will strengthen and tone your body. Easy to follow
low-impact movements will help you accomplish deep muscle
conditioning and toning. Appropriate for all ftness levels.
LATIN EXPRESS Put some salsa and spice back into your
ftness routine. The Latin Dance moves will challenge your hips,
legs and abdominals while getting a great cardio workout. The
easy-to-follow moves are designed to motivate, energize and
create a stronger leaner you. Make your own festa.
CYCLE 101 Using the Reebok Cycle, bike your way to ftness.
All levels of ftness are encouraged to enjoy the ride and get ft
while doing it. This 45 minute workout is followed by 15 minutes
of abdominal exercises.
BOSU OR STEP You make the choice. The Bosu is a cardio
workout with the challenge of balancing, while the step has more
stability. The Bosu has a dome on one side and a platform on the
other. It will challenge your stability while improving your aerobic
performance. Both are great fat burners.
GET ON THE BALL Have a ball and get a great workout.
The stability ball is used throughout the entire class. Engage in a
short cardiovascular routine followed by weight bearing exercises
performed on the ball. Dont wait. Get on the Ball.
BUTT AND GUT Two areas we want to look good. This class
offers a variety of exercises to fatten and tighten those specifc
body parts.
BOOTY BALLET Booty sculpting, arm toning, leg condition-
ing and having fun with upbeat music to make you feel like a
rock-n-roll ballerina. Effective for all levels of ftness.
AB A 15 minute workout of concentrated abdominal exercises
that will help you to tighten up your middle.

BOOT CAMP A high energy, timed interval class that incor-
porates different cardio segments with strength conditioning. A
class designed to move your body. Abdominal work included.
CARDIO KICK Kick up your routine with a jab, kick, and up-
per cut. This class is great for cardio conditioning and concentrat-
ing on the core. So put up your dukes and lets get moving.
FIT YOGA This yoga class is designed to increase muscular
strength, fexibility and improve cardio endurance and will en-
hance overall balance. Through the fowing asana format, each
participant will bring their body and mind together for a self-
challenging and relaxing workout.
TRX 30 minutes of suspension training. This complete total-
body training system is focused on getting you a more effective
and concentrated body conditioning workout.
WORKING W/WEIGHTS This class is designed to
strengthen and sculpt muscles using a variety of weights with
specifc exercises. This class ranges from beginners to advanced
levels. Abdominal work included.

We recognize that beginning an exercise program can be a little
intimidating. YMCA ftness specialists will conduct a FREE one-on-
one orientation with you, so you can learn how to use the ftness
equipment safely and effectively. Please schedule an appointment
at the Member Services desk.

The Arthritis Tai Chi Program is a group, recreational exercise
program designed to provide people of all ages and wide range of
physical abilities with a joint friendly exercise alternative.
Tai Chi is an ancient discipline with benefts for the body, mind and
spirit. This program captures the best of this discipline to promote
the following potential rewards:

Exercise in this non-aerobic water exercise class designed to
minimize stress on joints, improve fexibility and strengthen mus-
cles while enjoying the buoyancy and relaxation of the warm water
pool. No swimming experience is necessary. Water shoes
are recommended.

ARTHRITIS FOUNDATION
WATER EXERCISE
The Arthritis Foundation Aquatic Program is a recreational group
exercise program that was co-developed by the Arthritis Founda-
tion and the YMCA of the USA. This program is designed for
anyone with arthritis or related rheumatic diseases or musculo-
skeletal conditions, ranging from people who are sedentary and
very limited by impaired joint mobility to those with only mild
joint involvement and/or problems with fatigue. Participants
improve their joint fexibility, endurance and reduce their pain
and stiffness while supported by the waters buoyancy and resis-
tance. Water temperature is minimum of 84 degrees.

FOR BREAST CANCER SURVIVORS
This program is free to participants who have been diagnosed
within the past 5 years. This will be an ongoing program. There
will be no session dates. We will be offering two ftness classes
and one yoga class each week. The participants may choose
all three or come when you can. If you want to improve your
muscle tone or relax and stretch, join us for a great enlightening
experience. No registration deadline. Register at time of start up.

Hello everyone, my name is Shawn Walker and I am
the new Program Director at the Shiawassee Family
YMCA. I am originally from Erie Pennsylvania but have
moved to Owosso to take on the position as the Program
Director. I have over two years of experience working as
a Program Director and am looking forward to working
with the community here in Owosso. I look forward to a
fun spring/summer with the addition of some new youth
programs! Children ages 2-15 will have the opportunity
to participate in Y programs in a fun and caring envi-

Through Itty Bitty sports young children will be introduced to the

Flag Football (Grades 4-KG, 1-2, 3-5, 6-8)
During fag football basic skills, team building, and character de-
velopment are emphasized as youth learn the positions and termi-
nology of football. This year we will be teaming up with NFL Play
60 to put together a more organized and fun league. All players
will receive a NFL Play 60 jersey along with a belt and fags. This
sport is minimal contact and will consist of 2 preseason practices
and 4 games.
