On TUESDAY evenings at PORTLANDS we bring two lessons: One on the Book of ACTS for young converts, and one on THEOLOGIANS of TODAY for
Preacher Training.

THURSDAY evenings at Lentegeur in the home of Brother Desmore we have lessons on the book of JAMES, with a number of young boys
attending.

Brother James DUNJUA'S daughter had a baby boy on Friday, and I visited the family today to have a time of prayer together with
them,

Brother Maile of RAVENSMEAD has also contacted me to begin a series

of lessons in his home, which we are planning to start this coming

We had supper together at a Chinese Restaurant Friday.

At GUGULETU this morning we had a time of Prayer and an offering for one of the older sisters who is returning to her home in BEAUFORT WEST tomorrow. I also led in prayer at the Communion service, and

brought a message on "THE CROSS OF CHRIST". The Cross separated

Christ from the life of this world, and united his Spirit with God. So the cross also cuts us off from the world of Satan and Sin, and unites our spirit with the Spirit of God.
After the service I took the MAGWAZA family home to NYANGA, and also Brother DUNJUA to MITCHELL'S PLAIN. I explained to him in the car

that it is only when we have come to the cross that our spirit can testify with God's spirit that we are the children of God. Lord willing, on 20th March the brethren of GUGULETU will be holding
a service in PORTLANDS. We look forward to a rich time of felov;ship

there. Brethren, please pray for the ongoing of God's work in this
area. Yours in His mighty name.

"I should be dead," were my words as I stepped into ago on Thursday. And I should be but for the grace preserves me in accidents. I had been working late Co-op, and was on my way to Lentegeur at about 7:30

the house a week of God who even at the Farmer's p.m. for the

evening Bible lesson^riding my bike alongside a van, when a woman ran

across the road right in front of the van. The van just missed her. There was no way that I could. The woman fell to the road with a gash in her leg, the bike flew into the air and crashed down with

^1,CXX).00 damage, and I was thrown into the next lane of traffic in the path of an oncoming car. By the grace of God he had seen the accident taking place and had already started to brake and swerve as
I landed in front of him. "I could so easily have ridden right over

you," he said later.

New Monday evening Bible lessons have already begun in RAVENSMEAD in
the home of Brother Wilson Mailie. We have aEready studied the first

chapter of ROMANS where we saw both the Grace of God in the Gospel,

and the Wrath of God against the godless.

Today I brought a Communion Message at GUGULETU on "The poor in spirit'.'
There are two words for poor in the Bible. One meains poor in the sense that one is just barely able to eke out a living. The other means

absolutely destitute, unable to work, a beggar. It is this last word which Jesus uses when he says, "Blessed are the poor in spirit." Brother
and sister TUSHA of MOSSEL BAY were with us also in the service.

Last Thursday at LENTEGEUR it was my joy to bring a lesson from TIMOTHY

on the 3 things that God wants: Love from a pure heart - a strong faith - a clear conscience. The young men listened attentatively, all

except 8 year old Densil, who fell asleep half-way through as usual.
One Friday I went to pick up my son TIMOTHY at the CAPE SHOW. After a demonstration of scrambler motor-bikes, the Wynberg Boys High School Band put on a performauice with Timothy on bugle. Tuesday evenings at PORTLANDS, we are studying Paul's last talk to the Ephesian elders where he "commends them to God, and the word of His grace, which is able to build you up, and give you an inheritance among
all the saints." While the adult lessons on "THEOLOGIANS OF TODAY" con

tinues with a study of ROMANO GUARDINI and his 3 questions: Who is Jesus

Christ?

What is the essence of Christianity? and - What is the structure/

Guardini believes that man has existence only in his

relationship FROM God and TOWARD God.

LUNCH-TIME lessons at the Co-op

are now centering around "LIFE IN THE

SPIRIT'.' God's Spirit witnesses with our spirit that we are His children. The Spirit is both the guarantee, and the down-payment of our eternal life, and God Himself works all things together for our good if we love Him and fit in with His plans.
I pray personally for all of you who receive this newsletter, that God may be with you, that He may reach into your heairts to make your faith strong, and that you may know the love, joy and peace of His Spirit.
With thanksgiving to God for each one of you.

In preparation for Preacher Training classes for next year I am studying books and preparing lessons on "CHRIST AND TIME" by Cullman, which shows the importance
of the coming of Christ; and "THE AUTHORITY OF THE OLD TESTAMENT" which shows the

meaning and relevance of the Old Testament for us today. The Lord has again opened doors for renewed studies at Bishop Lavis township which have already started in the home of BROTHER NTOBI on alternate Thursday evenings, as well as in Mfuleni at the home of BROTHER TOKWANA. The purpose of these lessons is to prepare African men for the preaching of the gospel, and to encourage them in the

faith which was once for all delivered to God's people.

Sunday mornings (alternate) sees me travelling on my repaired SUZUKI 250 along the Swartklip road and on SETTLER'S WAY past the D.F. Malan Airport and into the African township of Guguletu to a small zinc and wood hall in the back yard of BROTHER MATUTU for Bible lessons and messages at the worship service of the congregation.

Last Lord's Day I brought a message on "THE BREAD OF LIFE" and also had scripture

and prayer in the home afterwards as we celebrated the birthday of Lydia Matutu (22). On Mondays, after work at the Farmer's Co-op, the 'bike takes me out of the Epping
Industrial area past the Molato suburb of Elsies River, and into Ravensmead where I

bring Bible lessons on the book of Romans in the apartment of BROTHER MAILIE. In
Chapter 2 we learned that the true children of God are those whose hearts are right. On Tuesday evenings, close to the Mitchell's Plain station and Town Center Shopping
Mall, in Portlands at the home of BROTHER JAMES DUNJUA, 2 lessons are brought. First,

a lesson on the book of ACTS for the young people.

Last week we saw how God protected

Paul, and fulfilled his promise to work all things together for good to those who love Him. Then, a lesson on THEOLOGIANS OF OUR TIME for Preacher Training. Last week we discussed YVES CONGAR, and his plea for the unity of God's people.

Alternate Thursdays, in the Mitchell's Plain suburb of Lentegeur, lessons are brought in the home of BROTHER DESMORE on I TIMOTHY. Last week we looked at the qualities of
elders and deacons, as well as the "MYSTERY OF GODLINESS."

Due to a transfer of her present husband's job, Nancy has taken Timothy to East London.

Lord willing, I will be seeing him during the Summer vacation (December, January)
Please pray with me that God shall guide him in his new surroundings.
At the Farmer's Co-op Lunchtime Bible Studies are centering on the book of REVELATION,
and we are now dealing with the end-time release of Satan. World events seem to

indicate that we are entering this end-time with Satan once again deceiving the nations
Our studies of Ezk. 38 & 39 point to a specific attack on Israel from the north in
the latter days.

An explosion on an oil tanker this month caused wide-spread oil pollution off our west coast. But a far greater pollution problem is the pollution caused by sin. In our battle against evil principalities and powers we need the armor of God, and the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God. May God strengthen us to this end.
