We are deeply thankful to each one of you for your prayers and for your support. In my lessons at the Cape Town
market I brought a message on Satan# showing him as an angel of light# a tempter, a prosecuting attorney, a roaring lion, a destroyer and one who is himself finally destroyed in the lake of fire. We can escape from the destruction of the
devil and his forces by surrendering to God, In tliis we cited the white slips that were dropped by the Coalition Forces in the closing stages of the Gulf War, They
read: "YOU HAVE 2 CHOICES; YOU CAN CONTINUE TO FIGHT US AND DIE OF HUNGER AND THIRST IN THE DESERT, OR YOU CAN SURRENDER TO US AND LIVE." God also offers us these choices. Let us yield to Him and live. At Lentegeur I ..spoke _of the MIZPAH Monument which waa raigp/^ ac a wi tng>gg of _the_
respect that boundary line, and offered a sacrifice to God there at the top of the mountain, Gen, 31:45-52, Another sacrifice was made on another mountain; and another monument - the Cross of Jesus Christ - stands as a witness that the God,
whom we have offended by our sin, will not cross that line to attack and punish us
who are saved and protected by the precious blood of His Son,
Last month at Lansdowne I spoke on "The Time of the End," and tomorrow. Lord willing,
I will be speaking on "The Nature of God," At our OUTREACH lessons in MITCHELL'S
friends. It was my privilege to bring a message at a gathering to welcome them to South Africa last month. Today X brought scripture and prayer at the Cape Town airport when my wife Martha left on a trip to Europe and the U.S. sponsored by her
company, OTIS ELEVATOR, in recognition of her outstanding service as their Regional
Manager's secretary.
short break. I will also be bringing weekly lessons to Gregory van der Sandt, a dynamic young Christian leader in the Cape Town area. I have also recently prepared
a series of lesson outlines on "CHRISTIAN UNITY" for tlie churches in the PORT ELIZABETH area. Lord willing I will be speaking there in October this year.. Brethren, please continue to pray for me, for I need your prayers. South Africa is
undergoing a period of significant changes tliis year,. In this period of change it is vital that we maintain and proclaim the unchangeable verities of the kingdom of God and the word of God, for some things do not change. The Gospel does not change, .
and the need of people for that Gospel also does not change.
A regular feature of our Monday night Outreach meetings is a call for people to come forward for prayer at the close of the meeting. One can sense the moving of God's Spirit as people come forward, many of them weeping, asking for prayer for themselves or for their families. There is a warmth, a closeness of fellowship there, that
cannot be put into words. And that, after all, is as it should be; bound together by one spirit into one body in Christ. for we are

from Uitenhage, near Port Elizabeth, on the line, and i t was great to hear his voice as well. They had just acquired a site for a church building, and were inviting me over for the ground-breaking ceremony. They are also in urgent
need of our prayers, as well as funds for a church house.
If i t seems like a long time since you heard from me, that's because i t is, I've been sick 4 times, and we have moved once. First I had flu, then I collapsed with infection in the blood, followed by a combination of tonsilitis & bronchitis, and finally I broke out with eczema all stress-related due to a heavy work-schedule & long hours of driving. This led to a move which would shorten our driving times, and
we are now living in a small apartment at Milnerton, near the sea,,
I have now renewed my visits to the men at the market. On Mondays at MITCHELL'S PLAIN we are studying the book of ROMANS. Tuesdays at HAZELDENE we bring lessons on the GOSPEL of JOHN, Recently, in a garage, I spoke on the New Birth, and several came
At the FARMER'S CO-OP, where I work durina the dav to supplement mv income, one of mv fellow workers has been immersed into Christ. Toaether we have had the opportunity
to witness to and prav with some of the other emplovees.
Last Lord's Dav, at LANSDOWNE in a rickety little buildina with part of the roof missina, I brouaht a messace on "THE GOAL OF LIFE." Our life does not consist in
what we own, but in who we are. Our relationship to Christ is of vital importance.
Mv summary of the Scriptures continues, and I am now on the book of ECCLESIASTES; an experiment on life "under the sun." This is MUST readinc for everybody, for i t
shows the utter futility of a life that is lived without God at its center.
How we thank God for
thiso The "GOSPEL TRAIN MINISTRY'/ who have dedicated themselves to preaching the Gospel on trains going to and from Cape Town, asked me to speak at their monthly meeting in TAFELSIG. My message was based on the book of COLOSSIANS:I WHAT WE BELIEVE That Christ is the Son of God.
I wish to thank each and every one of you for your prayers and your support for the Lord's Work in Southern Africa. A special thanks to the brethren of Crookston, who have supported this work so regularly and faithfully over all the years, and to Brother Jim Woest of California for his sacrificial gift which came right at the time we moved. You couldn't have timed i t better, Jim But then, we know who led you to do so. A big thank you to Bryce and Judy Morgan. You don't hear a lot about forwarding agents, but the worth of their work is beyond measure. We are members of the body of Christ, and each of us has his part to play. As we work together for his glory, the church will grow and become strong. May God richly bless you all.
