Ms. Sarver While completing my masters Mrs. Spera and I were able to go over the GA DOE !"# Media $ibrary %rogram Sel&'Eval(ation )(bric. *y applying the r(bric to o(r media center we were able to review the things that we e+cel at, as well as &ind things that we needed to improve. I attached the r(bric with the highlighted areas &or o(r school &or yo( to ta-e a loo- at when yo( have time. Mrs. Spera and I were also able to get together a &ew action points that we wo(ld li-e to implement &or ne+t year. We are hoping o(r steps will help (s move o(r media center &rom .pro&icient/ to .e+emplary/. Items that we wo(ld li-e to move &rom *asic to pro&icient or e+emplary0 1. St(dent achievement is ro(tinely assessed0 2he classroom teacher is responsible &or assessing st(dent achievement. o )ight now the assignments are collaborative lessons that are co'ta(ght in the media center leave the responsibility o& grading to the teachers. Mrs. Spera has agreed that some o& the grading co(ld be le&t in her hands since she is sometimes the one teaching the lesson. "#. One o& the national ed(cational technology goals states0 .E&&ective and engaging so&tware and on'line reso(rces will be an integral part o& every school3s c(rric(l(m./ 2he GA$I$EO 4irt(al $ibrary provides Georgia st(dents and teachers access to e+ceptional on'line reso(rces at no cost to the local school district0 St(dents will be given instr(ction in accessing GA$I$EO. 2he password will be provided in a timely manner. o O(r problem here is de&initely not getting the password to o(r st(dents5 however it is ma-ing s(re that the st(dents -now how to (se GA$I$EO and where to go to access GA$I$EO. We need to o&&er more in personal training, as well as aides that the teachers can (se inside their classrooms.
