About RPG Foundation

RPG Foundation is a Trust established by RPG Enterprises in June 2009. The Foundation is a nonprofit organization registered under the Societies Registration Act 1860 to functions as a centralized body for the CSR activities of the various group companies. Another objective of the Foundation is to adopt and directly manage CSR activities at the group level and also to oversee and create cross-company synergies to encourage exchange of CSR ideas, adoption of best practices and learnings.

RPG Enterprise established in 1979, is one of Indias fastest growing business groups with a turnover touching Rs 15,000 cr. The group consists of over fifteen companies managing diverse business interests in the areas of Tyre, Infrastructure, IT and Speciality. The Group firmly believes that Corporate Social Responsibility is not just an added function to business. It should be ingrained in core business operations. Thus, RPG CSR would cover workplace, community and environment. The RPG Foundation has been set up to undertake activities in the field of Social Welfare and reform, across a wide range of areas including Education, Employability and Environment.

Role of the Foundation

To adopt and directly manage some major CSR activities at the Group level. To oversee the individual CSR functions of the companies. To create cross-company synergies of best CSR practices and learnings. To make a difference to Society and Environment.

How we got started in 2011 and where we are today - June12CSR Head

Mr. Venkat Rolla CSR-Corporate Social Responsibility is much more than philanthropy or annual reports about a companys contributionsit should be considered a core discipline of the organization. CEOs must look into the future, understand and articulate their role in society, and try to center their organizations on addressing some of the larger needs of society, such as the environment, sustainability, effects of the global supply chain, education, health, poverty etc. In August 2011 when a CSR plan and strategy was being documented for the RPG Group, we studied the present situation and defined the three major areas of engagement Education, Employability and Environment- now referred to as the 3Es. Employability: On further study and gap-analysis we indentified one area of concern under Employability and that gave birth to a first of its kind program undertaken by a Corporate. The nation is facing a huge shortage of technically skilled manpower especially in the manufacturing sector. This is in the order of over 50- 55million skilled manpower as we go into 2020. Most initiatives Under NSDC only address the shortage of manpower at the end of value chain, whereas the root cause lies in our School education system where Technical education is absolutely neglected. Unlike in the West (US/Germany) where 60-70 % of the students go for Vocational studies/ universities, we have continued to produce graduates with no skills. Thus program Saksham- making them able, was conceived and launched in Oct 2011. This is about promoting Technical Education right from Secondary School level. RPG group being one of the pioneers to implement the Self Management Teams- **(SMT) program and have successfully done so in four green field factories of the Group across India. Young men & women in the age group of 21-23 years are recruited after their class 12 and are put through a six-month training program. This is not just technical skill training/development but a complete game changer. Best wishes, Venkat Rolla Group Head, CSR

The three Es: Environment: This is a big area with tremendous scope to initiate in. RPG took the approach of cleaning its own operations first. Look within, Go Green and then step out to clean the World. Thus Operation Go Green was initiated in Feb/March 2012 when one CSR Champion from each of the six companies was nominated at the MBM and were mandated to help focus on all CSR initiatives with emphasis on Environment. All the 21 factories and offices have been mapped to understand their current level of consumption of Water, Power; discharge /emission level of effluents and pollution and current status of STP (sewage treatment plant), RWH (rain water harvesting), RO plant for drinking water etc. A target to reduce water and power consumption by 20%, zero discharge of effluents, installation of STP and RWH to conserve water was circulated to all plants. Education: With Akshar already launched and into its third year in 2011, the focus was in scaling it up while fine tuning the pedagogy. This initiative is to improve the Proficiency in English of municipal school student of Class 4 onwards. The entire program and pedagogy was conceived and executed by Mrs Radha Goenka the Trustee of the RPG Foundation. It is due to her passion and vision the program has made tremendous progress. What started as a Pilot in 5 schools of WorliMumbai in 2009 has now 50 Schools across India.

Overview of Indian Education Sector

India has the worlds largest population in the age bracket 5 to 24 years of about 450 million. It also has around 500 million in the 25 to 59 age bracket which constitutes the working population and is expected to continuously increase even as the worlds working population ages and diminishes. This phenomenon will make India a supplier of workforce to the entire world. In the wake of this reality, the Indian education system should therefore be able to produce a workforce which is globally competitive and thus reap its demographic dividend. Literacy in India is one of the key deterrents to socio-economic progress of the country. The Indian literacy rate currently stands at 74 % compared to 12 % at the end of British rule in 1947. Although there has been a six fold growth, the level is well below the world average literacy rate of 84 % and India currently has the largest illiterate population compared to any other nation in the world. The Table below provides an insight into the current literacy levels of Indians. Level Of Education Illiterate Eligible Illiterate Children in the age group of 0-6 years Literate School up to 5th Standard School 6th to 9th Standard School- 10th to 12th Standard Graduate and above Total Population, Mn 432 274 158 778 234 358 108 78 1210

Therefore, as India moves ahead on the path of globalization, it needs to overhaul its education system to meet the future demands. Educational Infrastructure The size of our educational infrastructure can be assessed by the private and public spends on education. The Indian private spend on education in 2011 was estimated to be over USD 60 Billion across all segments (Schooling, Higher Education, Vocational and Ancillary) or approximately equal to 3 % of our GDP. The 11th five year plan (2007-12) was termed as Indias educational plan and placed the highest priority on education as a central instrument for achieving rapid and inclusive growth. At USD 54 billion, it constituted 20 % of the plan. Quality of Education As if the shortage of teachers was not sufficient to degrade the quality of Indian education, most schools still follow the rote learning practices, which hamper the quality of education severely. This is further supplemented by ineffective assessment of students. There are trends that indicate that people are looking at alternative curriculums and pedagogies that lean towards practical and applied learning rather than rote learning. Akshar initiative in the field of education is to promote high quality education in Municipal Schools through a unique pedagogy which would not only raise childrens inclination towards reading and learning but also boost their self confidence to aspire and achieve greater things in life, - states Ms Kasturi Bose, our Program lead for Akshar.

Education Initiative@ RPG Foundation:

Akshar Programme
RPG Akshar Program works with children studying in public schools to enhance their spoken and reading English skills. It employs the natural curiosity of children and excites them about the process of learning and also encourages them to learn new concepts & ways of thinking. Akshar is a six year program, children undergoing the program for six years would be 100% functional English Proficient. The uniqueness of the Akshar program lies in its pedagogy. Thus every Akshar session consists of three vital elements i.e showing flashcard words, reading of a story and an activity. The Program ensures that the Akshar Classroom is a fun, no pressure learning environment that children look forward to. We started with the Akshar project as a pilot in 2009 and launched the Pilot of the program in 2010. We closed the year 2010-11 with Akshar successfully introduce in five schools of Mumbai Municipal Corporation. However 2011-12 saw a huge scaling of the program with 4650 students in 50 schools in many cities across India -Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Vasai, Ankleshwar,

Jabalpur, Jaipur and Halol. In Mumbai -Worli alone we have reached up to 1000 students. Goal is that by the year 2015 upto 15,000 childrens across 60 schools in 10 cities will be under the Akshar program.

Akshar Mission: To ensure all children studying in government schools within 10 Km radius of RPG facility are under the RPG Akshar Program. All children under this program should benefit and would be able to transform their lives and prepare them for the global environment. Akshar Summer Program: During summer vacation, students get a long break and by the time they get back to school, they tend to lose touch with their curriculum. Thus, to keep the continuity of the Akshar programme, the summer camp was introduced which would ensure that students sustain their interest in this programme which employs a fun and learn pedagogy. During the summer programme a field visit and movie screening is factored in to increase the level of curiosity and encourage interactive learning.

This year we had around 70 students participating in the RPG Akshar Summer Programme. This programme caters to children who do not travel to their villages during these months. This also helps our Akshar facilitators to pay more attention and track the progress of these children as they interact in small groups.

The Akshar summer programme came to an end by 1st week of June with a day long fun filled activities along with refreshments. Children were appreciated and encouraged with gifts and certificates for attending and being part of the RPG Akshar programme.

Major Initiatives @ Akshar

Conducted Akshar summer proramme in Worli and other locations like Vasai, Jaipur, Nagpur and Navi-Mumbai Students across location who attended Akshar Programme were awarded with certificates and gifts. The attendance of students keeps fluctuating as most of the students travel to villages. Next, summer camp would be conducted only in the mornings as afternoon heat prevents students from attending it. Recruitment of Facilitators is a process which is on for across locations. A complete process driven recruitment system has been created for selection of Akshar facilitators. Akshar classes has begun across locations post summer vacation Akshar had conducted field trips for students in the past to Taraporewala Aquarium however similar visits were not replicated at other locations considering the risk factor. Students from Aditya Birla World Academy finished their 15 days internship with RPG Akshar.

Employability Initiative @ RPG:

Saksham Programme
The education system both at school and college does not equip our youth for jobs, they are not even ready to face a simple interview. On the other hand, the manufacturing sector that has grown

& is growing in India in a big way is experiencing a huge shortfall of skilled manpower across all trades. The game changer is when one can get a generation of youth to look at manufacturing jobs as a potential alternate to the regular services industry jobs like BPOs, Call-centers, large chain stores, Malls, Courier and Pizza delivery companies etc. These jobs too are good to start with but have very limited scope to grow in. Whereas large manufacturing plants like Hyundai, ITC RPG etc offer a career in manufacturing with a huge scope to grow in this sector. RPG Saksham RPG Foundation saw the need to guide and help the under-privileged students of the BMC/Government Schools to go in for vocation-oriented studies rather than the mundane graduation courses like B Com, B Sc where the job opportunities are scanty and are directly proportionate to the educational institution and grades received. Therefore The RPG Foundation proposed a tie-up with the Directorate of Vocational Education and Training (DVET) through a PPP program that enables it to engage with the Government Technical High Schools (GTHS) across Maharashtra to implement a well thought-out 6 year program SAKSHAM. The GTHS impart Vocational Education with optional Technical subjects which incidentally have been in the SSC Board syllabus for decades but were just ignored. Through this engagement RPG Foundation intends to bring in the following: Improve Lab facility and equipment at these Government Technical High Schools (GTHS). Introduce vocations that have greater job opportunities. Qualified Trainers to teach and also to regularly run teacher training programs. Bring in industry interface through visiting faculty across industries. Industry exposure of live production experience to students. Placement assistance in industries across various trades. English language and Life-skill regular classes all three years. For students Higher Education Counseling. Do all it takes to have 100% intake and 100% attendance thru the 5 year (Class 8,9,10,11 & 12) thus achieving 100% results also. Note: The reality in most of these schools has been very tragic. Zero admission to a maximum of 20% of capacity. More than 50% of the teacher posts remain vacant for years to come. Quality and motivation levels are very poor. Infrastructure and maintenance of workshop is poor to average. Lastly these schools suffer a poor Brand equity as career in manufacturing is almost non-existence to rate very low. This is also due to the two decades of the Service sector growth and jobs in the Call centres, Mall, retails etc.

The Program: Saksham

The Pilot is being run in three Govt Schools and Centres of DVET from June 2012. Thereafter we will take this program to other states also. o o o ETHS (Elphiston Technical High School) at Dhobi Talao (opp Metro Cinema). GTHS (Govt Technical High School) at Ghule Road Pune, GTHS at Nagpur.

Students start here from Class 8 onwards and continue till the HSC (Plus 2) opting for MCVC (Minimum competency vocational courses) or Bifocal course. Post SSC, we will identify, screen high performers, counsel & encourage them to take up a 4 year Engineering Diploma or Graduate Engineering studies. Depending on their aptitude, need and interest we guide them into courses as diverse as Medicine & Fashion designing. Thus the students under Saksham program still have options to migrate to other courses & yet learn technical skills which are of use during their lifetime. From our study we see about 50% of the batch size going into the final stage of Saksham III ie take up our Apprenticeship program under the Learn & Earn scheme. Getting started (Admission drive):- The first task was to seek admissions to these schools which start with Class 8. Therefore the target group was Class 7 of the Municipal and govt upper primary (upto Class 7) schools in and around our select Technical schools. Visit to Upper Primary BMC Schools. With ETHS having a track record of Zero admission to Class 8, we were faced with a uphill task to get students of regular BMC schools to consider shifting to these Technical High Schools. To get clarity to this effort and also ensure the highest impact Mr Venkat Rolla- CSR Head, The Head Master of ETHS and the Social worker shortlisted 12 BMC Upper Primary (upto class 7 only) schools in the vicinity of ETHS and addressed the Class 7 students, their parents and their teachers about careers in the manufacturing sector, RPGs successful SMT program and the Saksham six-year intervention that will change their lives. One big hurdle was the School authorities themselves. They would counsel the interested students against moving to our Technical schools as their vested interest was to maintain student numbers within the rolls of the Municipal (MCGM formerly BMC) Schools as this has a direct bearing on their grants, teacher jobs etc. Therefore we also had to visit slums, communities & student homes to educate them of the benefits of Technical education along with SSC and garner admissions. Community Meetings for Saksham The meetings were convened as part of community outreach. Services of a Senior Manager from the Social Sector Mr. Dattu Pawar and his senior Social Worker Ms Jagruti Mahajan were utilized. They in turn placed community workers in different slums/ BMC schools around ETHS -Mumbai to

garner admissions to Elphinstone Technical High School (ETHS). These community meetings/ home visit help trickle in admissions.

Social Workers - Mr. Dattu Pawar & Ms Jagruti Mahajan

In addition to this two interns from Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mr. Rajaram Yadav and Mr. Sudipt Anand conducted detailed surveys and organized a number of community meetings in the slum communities of Geeta Nagar, Cotton Green, Sewri and Mahim.

Community Meetings @ Cotton Green & Sewri

Launch of Saksham program at select Govt Technical School in Maharashtra a Pilot. After three months of efforts by our CSR team, the Social workers and the TISS interns we could get 44 student admissions at ETHS. It does not stop with this, our community workers are continuing with their efforts to retain these 44, ensure that they get their Transfer certificates, attend regularly

10

and fall into a routine. We in turn literally had to do a circus of sorts to ensure that the students first 15 days at this new school of theirs (Honey moon period as we called it) was a great experience. The classes were cleaned up, earlier we got the rooms and the workshop repaired and painted. All teacher absenteeism was filled in with our visiting teachers for English and technical subjects. June 2012 saw the formal launch of Saksham Vocational Education & Training Programme. Our Group CSR Head Mr. Venkat Rolla formally launched the Programme in Elphiston Technical High School, Near CST - Mumbai. This flagship technical education programme called Saksham is the first of its kind in the country. Addressing the gathering consisting of Students, Parents & Teachers, Mr. Venkat Rolla said Despite the fact that Indias manufacturing sector is developing at a rapid pace and numerous job opportunities exist, our students has not been counseled to take studies in Technical education and seek jobs in this sector. Our endeavor guide the student to take advantage of a career in this sector and benefits from its growth while contributing to the growth of the Nation.

Mr. Venkat also remarked that the success of the Service Sector last two decades has lead to a continuing rush towards jobs in call centers, back office work, Courier, retail sector etc. Students are not aware of the tremendous shortage of multi-skilled Technical staff in manufacturing sector and thus the opportunities which offer higher career growth than most Service sector. RPG Foundation is partnering with the Government improve the infrastructure of the Technical Schools. In turn fulfill the dreams of the under-privileged students and their families for a better future.

Class 8th Students @ETHS

Schools have opened June 16th & admissions are on as we go into the 2nd quarter: This entire effort resulted in admission of 44 students at ETHS. RV tech high school at Khar where we were not mandated to participate in enrolment got 12 students into Class 8. Pune and Nagpur schools filled in 324 + 247 students as against a capacity of 315+260 respectively. A total of 627 students have thus been brought under the Pilot of Saksham program in these 3 cities of Maharashtra. Given the poor quality of teachers and also the huge number of teacher vacancies that may not get filled up, we embarked upon the eClass (Digital) programme where all the syllabus subjects are available on audio visual format with good illustrations. This will infact enable even a good facilitator to help the students complete the syllabus far more effectively and in a shorter time. RPG Volunteers should come forward to take this opportunity to engage with the students using the eClass program, thus ensure our students dont miss out completing the syllabus effectively and passing with good results.

Life Skills Session at ETHS Under Saksham a life skills session for the students of class 8th at ETHS was organized. The session was conducted by Mr. Ghanshyam Mhatre of CEAT Ltd. The programme was attended by 35 children. The Programme laid emphasis on the will power, discipline, determination and team

12

spirit. Children were made to do a lot of group activities. A short movie on Determination and Hard Work was screened. At the end of the session Children were also shown an example of E-learning Class room. The students and the teachers found this workshop very useful and we hope it has laid the foundation for a healthy start of a six-long year journey.

Major Initiatives @ Saksham Head Masters meet attended by four head masters of adopted schools. Agenda: Briefing of SAKSHAM, their School status/needs and the way forward. NGO engagement, community meetings, advocacy at highest level viz Municipal commissioner and Employment commissioner, for transfer of students from BMC schools. Preparation of gap analysis, action plan for a 360 degree turn around of these four schools Parents meeting (22nd june) Time table finalisation so as to accommodate co and extra-curriculum sessions. Finalisation of soft skill modules and proficiency in English with specialist trainers. Ideating and finalisation Motivational Workshop with schedules for all four schools. 5S training, beautification of school campus etc planned and scheduled. Purchase of eClasses Digital equipment finalised & budgets sanctioned by Govt. Signed up with Godrej, NTTF, L&T, Schneider, CII etc to offer expert training / workshp for our student both at Technical Schools and ITI s.

ITI Adoption Govt of India under a PPP Scheme offered over 1900 ITI s to corporates under an adoption scheme. The plan is that Corporates through their engagement and funds from the govt will turn around these ITI s so as to become Model Institutes of Technical Education. In addition to their regular courses these ITI s will also run short-term (3 months) technical courses under the Modular Employability Schemes (MES), schemes of the National Skill Development Corporation. Short

13

courses in various trades will be taught here thus addressing the immediate need to fill the over 30 million jobs for skilled manpower. We have already adopted following three ITI s under the PPP program of Govt of India. Govt ITI Asthi Nagpur Govt ITI Ullasnagar Govt ITI Vasai

The prime task is to go through a six step process of adoption like formation of the Institute management Committee, drafting the Development plan etc . We have completed all the Six steps and Ashiti has moved to a new premises and is fully operational. The other two are operating in hired premises while their land allotment process is over. The building plan is being made. We are engaged in developing core competency in the students, teacher capacity building, skill enhancement, attitudinal development, effective institute industry interaction and enhance employability of the students. Currently teacher training programs are underway. Employability initiative under SAKSHAM for the students of Govt Tech School and ITI is the key to measure the success of these two programs. Therefore six training modules have been planned beyond subjects ie Life skills and soft skills. Also Industry interface through visiting faculty and Industry visits have all been chalked out. Our main concentration is on K .S .A . i.e is knowledge, skill and attitude for better employability says Mr . R Suryavanshi, our Program Manager for Employability.

Model ITI Visit In order to study the model ITIs , Venkat Rolla, Rajesh Suryavanshi and Bibin Babu visited ITI Aundh adopted by Tata Motors and ITI Khed adopted by Bharat Forge Ltd. The main objective of the visit was to learn and make a detailed assessment of the Institute Management Committees (IMCs).

Environment Initiative @ RPG

15

Our climate is changing. Our Water, fundamental to life, is under increasing stress. We often tend to take for granted what nature has gifted us. However, at RPG we realise the importance of the global environmental crisis, and have pledged to convert all our 20 plants into Green Facilities. All our 20 plants are now targeted to do all it takes to reduce Power and Water consumption by 30% and 50%, and bring down affluent discharge to Zero.

World Environment Day RPG Akshar programme celebrated the World Environment Day - students not only had a fun filled day but also participated in sapling plantation in RPG House premises at Worli - Mumbai.

On this day -The World Environment Day, the Municipal School children who had planted saplings were informed about the process & importance of recycling wastes, reduce usage of plastic and initiate action to reduce global warming by planting trees in their localities. Earlier 3,500 saplings were planted with the support of the forestry department at Palej and Mundra. All the employees were sent a mailer urging them to pledge to work for the betterment of Mother Earth & its environmental concerns. The gist of this mailer is reproduced below:

Do your part for Earth

16

World Environment Day is truly a peoples day: it is a chance for everyone, young and old, with their community or with close friends, to show that they care for the planet. The world has at many times shown us that if we dont care it will make us care! If we dont take heed, it will make us regret! Nature is a simple example of the cause and effect theory. Tsunamis, earthquakes and natural disasters are reminders to us. Everyones lifestyle has changed. We consume, consume and consume. Very few conserve. We buy and buy, wanting new clothes, shoes, furniture, cars to drive more thus burning fossil fuel, chopping more trees, using more water, inevitably engaging more labor, thus contributing to world pollution. Let us pledge to: Generate less waste and separate wastes at source. Use public transport, car pools where possible. Plant a tree/s in your neighborhood. Dont wait for Earth Day or Environment Day.. Use minimal water, electricity - reduce the water pressure tape under the wash basin by over 80% and you can still comfortably wash your face, hands, teeth etc. Moderate the airconditioning unit temperature to 26 C in the night its more than sufficient At the office, bring your own water bottle & cloth napkin. Avoid Print-outs if you can, please switch-off the lights & PCs during lunch hour & when you leave your office.

Water: RPG with twenty plants and many offices across the country has pleged to reduce water consumption by 20% in the first year. Thus activites to achieve this are underway. To start with RPG House its HQ has initiated plans to reduce water consumption by 50% by March 2013. Therefore as of now the Rain Water harvesting system is in place, alternating pipeline installed throughout the building to handle BMC water and recycled water separately. STP is being set up by our in-house water SBU in KEC and the orders have been placed. We must recycle used water using STPs and also conserve rain water from going into the drains and ultimately the Sea. Rainwater harvesting is now compulsory for all housing societies and establishments. This illustration says it all. With just 3% of world water being Fresh water and 70% of this is in the form of Glaciers, the supply of fresh water is minuscule.

Green Cover at RPG House RPG House has about 3000 different plants/shrubs/trees in its campus. With over 250 different species of plants, we have utilized our roofs and balconies for gardening. Plants have the ability to reduce the overall heat absorption of the building which then reduces energy consumption.

RPG House "The primary cause of heat build-up in cities is insolation, the absorption of solar radiation by roads and buildings in the city and the storage of this heat in the building material and its subsequent radiation. Plant surfaces however, as a result of transpiration, do not rise more than 45 C above the ambient and are sometimes cooler. Aside for rooftop gardens providing resistance to thermal radiation, rooftop gardens are also beneficial in reducing rain run off. A roof garden can delay run

18

off; reduce the rate and volume of run-off, thus facilitate more collection in the rainwater harvesting system. Other Initiatives@ Environment Save Power: - LED Lights: RPG house will replace all its 2120 lamps with LEDs lamps during the 2nd quarter. Vendor Quotations are in the final stage of negotiations. LED lamps are the next big invention to hit the lighting industry after CFLs. One can save over 50 to 60% of power by replacing the Tube lights, CFLs, Halogen and GLS Bulbs with LED lamps. Moreover LEDs last for about 12 to 15 years and generate more lumens per wattage of power used. Lastly a LED lamp is a GREEN lamp that can be disposed as a mere glass it has no Mercury content (like the Tube lights and CFL). - On the energy front the HVAC units (Central AC) of the RPG House need to be replaced as per a feasibility report submitted in Feb 2012 and vendor / consultant discussions are on. To save about 50% power with the changeover to modern more efficient AC system. Save Mumbai Traffic and pollution: Employee Buses and Car pooling- Database of all employees at RPG House being created. AC Buses from Best will be available under a scheme of MMRD, and Best provided we offer a minimum of 40 passengers/ destination. Therefore we encouraged our neighborhood offices like Aditya Birla Group, Crompton Greaves etc to combine their numbers with us so as to attain critical numbers/destination.. LEED Certification of RPG House: Initial Assessment by Godrej IGBC Experts has been done, the process documents is being created to enable LEED Certification of RPG House by March 2012 Paper Waste Recycling NGOs making paper bags have been identified. Old Newspapers will be picked up periodically from the HQ by this NGO. These bags will be available at special rates for all our future requirements both for office use and for employees personal requirement. eWaste Collection contract to be signed with M/s Attero a certified operator to help Reuse, Repair failing which dispose after Recovering all critical and hazardous material from electronic wastes that are collected from us. We participated in the recently held NDTV Greenathon in May 2012 and donated all our electronic waste. Quit Smoking initiative with Nicorette was organized. Two employees enrolled for their Quit-smoking workshop, while most smokers have been sensitized on the dangers of smoking

19

Plants to reduce Water and power consumption by 20%. Reporting Formats for all the plant locations finalized. All plants mapping done on the environment front. Each plant compared Electricity and water consumption month on month and compare these numbers with the same month of the previous year. Variances are explained with reasons if no reason available for such variance root-cause analysis is done by COE manufacturing. Going forward all plants are mandated to reduce Water and power consumption by 20% effectively by 31 st march 2012. Each Plant head is studying the feasibility, timelines and resources and will firm up on the same. Attended/participated as sub-committee member in various CII forums on Skill development and Greenco Summit. Participated in the IICA workshop to draft CSR policy for the Ministry of Corporate Affairs chaired by Shri Veerappan Moily.
