19 Mar 2014. (Auto-5) Summary: I used this article to show how the advancement in gun technologies have revolutionized the sport. This website explains the boom of the A-5 shotgun and how so many were sold in a short period of time. This shotgun was very important to the history of shotgun sports. Evaluation: This article is helpful but I will need to look into incorporating this information without losing my audience and going off topic.

Summary: This website explains the history of the first repeating shotgun. This is important because this firearm allowed you to shot more than one round before having to reload. This revolutionized the sport. Evaluation: This article is extremely meaningful to the history to shotgun sports although it will be difficult to incorporate it with sporting clays.

These are just the shooting clubs that I was able to find online in Charlotte and surrounding ages. I planned to put this picture on the popularity slide to show my audience just how large of a sport it has become. Evaluation: This source will show my audience how large of a sport that clays has become. The map depicts surrounding clay facilities that are open to the public. It will also show my audience where they can go shoot sporting clays if my presentation persuades them into trying it.

Web. 19 Mar 2014.4 (Shooting) Summary: This website showed a timeline of how shooting sports became involved in the Olympics. It shows the history of both men and women sporting clays. The involvement of sporting clays in the Olympics is important because it started a boom in which many people became involved in the sport. Evaluation: I will be able to use this source because it capture a turning point in which sporting clays became an international sensation and became more than an upper class sport.

(Shooting Etiquette) Summary: This Article outlined some of the many rules and etiquettes that are associated with sporting clays. This piece stressed the importance of gun safety, which in my opinion is the most important aspect of any gun activity. It also stressed promptness which is important at the

range because if you arent in the right place at the right time them you hold everyone up. Another highlight of this article was the importance of asking questions. Evaluation: This article was tremendously helpful, although most parts of this information seems boring and tiresome. Something I will need to find out is how to present this to my audience without losing their interest because it is kind of boring but strictly imperative to everyone involved in the sport

(Shooting Equipment) Summary: This website explained the history of the equipment in the sport. It showed how the clays that they use are better because the fly more predictable. They also explain the advancement that has been made in their throwers. Most of this technology applies to the Olympics. Evaluation: I believe that this is a good site because it shows how the technology and the quality of the sport has improved. It will also help us show our audience a bunch of the equipment used such as; throwers, boxes, and clays.

(Sporting Clays Choke Chart) Summary: This chart shows when it is appropriate to use certain chokes during various clay sports. It shows at which distances a shooter should change choke and for each size clays. This chart will allow me to explain to my audience how chokes are used. Evaluation: This chart would help provide a different mode in which my audience could be helped to understand sporting clays. Particularly understanding the concept of matching your choke to your conditions. The chart is very well depicted and will help them understand a key concept.

(Sporting Clays Course Design) Summary: This website explained the setup of most sporting clay ranges. It explained how they are divided up into stations and the shooter must promptly move from station to station. It stressed awareness and promptness to reassure safety and their not being delay for everyone involved. This source did a great job explaining the rules of Evaluation:

This was a very helpful source, because my audience definitely doesnt know and will have a hard time understanding the rules of the sport. This information also backs up prior information I found regarding promptness and awareness.

Frederrick. Shane, Trap and skeet shooting for fun! . 2005. Print. (Trap and Skeet) Summary: This book outlined and illustrated all background information about sporting clays. This book starts with history of the sport and goes on to explain etiquette, gun safety and various other tid-bits that one should know about the sport. This book confirmed a lot of information I had found earlier in my research. Evaluation: This book has an intended audience for 5th -8th grade, so although the book is targeted to juveniles, it still had loads of useful information, because my intended audience has limited knowledge about the source, so it still will help me inform them.

(Weaver) Summary:

This source is a newspaper editorial from the Baltimore Sun. This describes a mans firsthand account of his first time shooting sporting clays. Lonny Weaver a northerner, goes to Texas and shoots sporting clays for the first time. He then remarks in his editorial that he doesnt understand why it isnt a major sport everywhere. He talks of how one must possess skill and resiliency to shoot clays. Evaluation: This article shows how even as of late in 1992 the sport was still small, considering how large it is today. This also shows how a man from different demographic fell in love with the sport and suggests that everyone should try it.
