wanting to improve on a personal, educational and/or professional level. The Center is dedicated to quality support services which increase the emotional, social and economic well-being of all participants. Participants can access numerous services to help complete education goals, build personal relationships, master communication skills, learn job-seeking strategies, explore career options and enter the work force. SELF IMPROVEMENT CLASSES
Turning point provides resources for the community centered on Personal and Career Development.
Personal Development The following subjects are covered: Communication Styles Listening Skills Body Language Centering Personal Empowerment Self Esteem/Self Worth/Self Image Dealing with Anger Negotiation Skills Dealing with Criticism, Putdowns, Feedback Conflict Resolution Creating Healthy Loving Relationships Managing Life Transitions Managing Life Transitions is a course that focuses on effectively dealing with grief, emotional processing, setting boundaries, and understanding relationships. This is a six week course that meets once a week for three hours. Individuals in class make connections with others and learn valuable information and skills useful in navigating conflict, distress, and difficult life events. Safety, respect, and confidentiality are highly valued throughout the course.

Our Successful Life Management (SLM) Course is made up of two components: Personal Development & Professional Development.
We also offer a Managing Life Transitions class Course which is available to take once the SLM has been completed.
