The standard application SINAMICS DCC Load Sharing was developed with the objective to address many of the known applications concerning load distribution using just one application software. When required, the application can be configured or also changed as a result of its openness. Works in combination with: SINAMICS DCC Winder

Without controlled load distribution it is not guaranteed, that the summand load is distributed evenly (or in defined proportions) among the drives Without the control of load distribution the motors can even work against each other Benefits of correct load distribution: Motor size can be decreased Energy efficiency Reduced heat generation More stable web tension

In the industry numerous applications of coupled axes Coupling can be: Rigid directly

Flexible thru the material web

In such cases the summand load (delivered torque) is distributed among the coupled drives

The following techniques are implemented in this application: Torque linking Bias and limiting Droop and compensation One drive from the coupled axes (drive group) is selected as master, the master torque is used as reference for the slaves. It is important, to keep the drive speed controlled. If the coupling is broken, uncontrolled acceleration must not occur.

Torque Linking: The master drive operates normally with a PI speed controller The slaves drive operates only with a P speed controller The integrator torque output of the masters speed controller is used as additional torque in the slave drive Precontrol is independent for both drives Speed setpoint is identical

Bias and Limiting:

Introduction Benefits when using the Application Contents of the Application Scope of Functionality Example Configuration

All drives operate normally with a PI speed controller The speed controller torque output of the masters speed controller together with drive specific precontrol is used as upper torque limit Precontrol is independent for both drives Speed setpoint for the slave drive is biased, therefore the slave will always operate on the upper torque limit (if actual speed does not exceed the biased setpoint)

Droop and compensation: All drives operate normally with a PI speed controller Droop In the slave drive the integrator channel is fed back and with increasing load the speed setpoint is reduced Compensation Speed setpoint of the slave drive is compensated depending on master torque thus a defined operating point is produced (same electrical or mechanical torques)

In SINAMICS there are different objects, such as SubObjects (e.g: Control unit) and DriveObjects (Drives) For such objects free DCC charts can be assigned, one for each and different execution times can be set for them These DCC charts can freely interact with other objects or charts using BICO technology This application is realised using DCC charts composed of the standard DCB library The use of DCC charts increases the CPU load of the unit As of today, a maximum of 4 SERVO drives can be used with this application on a CU320 control unit SINAMICS STARTER is required

In a complete setup there are four drives included, one of the is the master. All of them are mechanically coupled and controlled by the same Control Unit (SERVO)

Safety functions SLS and SOS are implemented

Dedicated ramp times for both safety functions Both controlled with binary inputs, effective immediately Fixed setpoint for SLS

Load distribution Load distribution methods, which were previously discussed are implemented The used motors do not have to be identical, the load can be distributed unevenly using the load factor parameter Torque precontrol Acceleration torque precontrol (inertia compensation), this depends on the set moment of inertia and the acceleration setpoint Constant additional torque Friction compensation is NOT included, for this the built in SINAMICS function should be used if necessary Precontrol is calculated independently for each drive
