SCOPE OF WORK: THIS SPECIFICATION COVERS THE TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE WORK OF SUPPLY, INSTALLATION AND COMMISSIONING OF 3ENERGY METERS AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS IN BHAVINI SITE. SL.NO STANDARDS 1. This specification covers the technical requirements for the work the Supply, Energy meters at various locations in Installation and Commissioning of 3BHAVINI site. GENERAL: 1. 2. SCOPE: This specification covers the work for Supply, Installation and Commissioning of 3- Energy meters at various locations in BHAVINI site. LOCATION: The site is located at Kalpakkam DAE COMPLEX Bhavini Site(PFBR), Kalpakkam. Kancheepuram - District of Tamilnadu.

3. CLIMATIC CONDITIONS: The contractor may note that the condition existing in the region with co-incident humidity, salt laden atmosphere and high temperature. 4. STANDARDS AND SPECIFICATIONS: All materials and equipment should conform to latest IS specifications. Where IS specifications do not exist, the relevant BS specifications shall be applicable.
SPECIFICATION AND TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

a. The entire supply of material shall be as per the schedule for the above cited work required are in the scope of contractor supply. b. The contractor shall submit sample pieces of every item and take a written approval from the Engineer - in-charge before effecting any bulk supply. The bulk supply shall be identical to the sample pieces otherwise the bulk supply will be rejected. c. Wherever a particular brand is mentioned, the Contractor shall supply the same brand. Even among the approved makes given in the tender, BHAVINI reserves its right to approve a specific make. d. Only genuine materials of makes listed under approved make shall be supplied. e. Delivery challan and other technical particulars shall be submitted for all the material supplied. f. All items to supplied shall be of approved make, needs approval prior to bulk purchase. All items purchased in bulk quantities shall be from the authorized dealers/ manufactures and shall carry documentary evidence.

Energy meters

Item No 1.0 The following 3- Energy meters shall be supplied and installed on various existing panels such as HT Panel(11kV), LT switch gear and Feeder pillar at various locations. Scope includes cutting of panel front cover by drilling cutout and fixing of energy meter. Wiring to be done between CTs and Meter with 2.5 sq.mm single core multi stranded copper conductor (FRLS PVC insulated) through CT test block or terminal connector (Red, Yellow, Blue and Black coloured wires might be used) complete as directed by EngineerIn-Charge. Item No 1.1-11 kV System: Energy meters of having the following specifications shall be supplied from the approved make. Installation is to be done at CPSS on 11kV existing panels as directed by the engineer in charge. The specifications of the Energy meter: -/5A, 110V. in class 0.5 accuracy Suitable for 3-Phase 3-wire network. Display in scroll mode: Active Energy kWh, Apparent Energy kVAh, Reactive Energy kVArh, Phase to Phase voltage, Instantaneous, Average, Maximum and Total Current, Instantaneous and Total Power Factor, Frequency. The meter shall have Time-of-Day metering facility. The meter shall record accurately irrespective of the phase sequence of supply. Case and Window: The meter shall have an insulated case which shall be sealed in such a way that the internal parts of the meter are not accessible to unauthorised persons. Any nonpermanent deformation of case shall not affect the satisfactory performance of the meter. The window shall be transparent material which cannot be removed undamaged without breaking seals. Terminal cover: The wiring terminals shall be protected by a sealable terminal cover and the terminal cover shall be made of an insulating material. The terminal covers shall be extended type with easily breakable knock-outs. Provision shall be made to seal the meter cover and terminal cover separately. Item No 1.2-415 V System: Energy meters of having the following specifications shall be supplied from the approved make. Installation is to be done on LT switch gear (415V) and feeder pillar at various locations in BHAVINI site as directed by the engineer in charge. The specifications of the Energy meter: -/5A, 3-Ph 415V, 50Hz, Accuracy Class-1.0 Primary CT &VT primary current should be programmable.

 Display in scroll mode: Active Energy kWh, Apparent Energy kVAh, Reactive Energy kVArh, Phase to Phase voltage, Instantaneous, Average, Maximum and Total Current, Instantaneous and Total Power Factor, Frequency. Suitable for 3-phase, 4-wire network with LCD display. Phase available indications to be provided. The meter shall have Time-of-Day metering facility. The meter shall record accurately irrespective of the phase sequence of supply. Installation is to be done on LT switch gear (415V) and feeder pillar at various locations in BHAVINI site as directed by the engineer in charge. The specifications of the Energy meter are mentioned below: 10-60A, 3-Ph 415V, 50Hz, Accuracy Class-1.0 with LCD display. Phase available indications to be provided. Display in scroll mode: Active Energy kWh, Apparent Energy kVAh, Reactive Energy kVArh, Phase to Phase voltage, Instantaneous, Average, Maximum and Total Current, Instantaneous and Total Power Factor, Frequency. Item No 2.0/2.1/2.2 Supply, installation and commissioning of the following wire wound ring type Current Transformers (CTs). It includes providing of CT test blocks/terminal connectors, mounting of hylum sheet with MS angles/Flat supports for fixing CTs as directed by Engineer-InCharge. Item No 2.1 Supply and installation of 415V, 50Hz;Class of Insulation: B,Winding material-copper; CT Ratio: 400-200/5,Accuracy class-1.0; Burden : 10 VA. Item No 2.2 Supply and installation of 415V, 50Hz; Class of Insulation: B, Winding material-copper; CT Ratio: 200-100/5, Accuracy class-1.0; Burden: 10 VA. IMPORTANT NOTES: 1. Energy meter installation works it has to be planned at least 2 days advance for preparation of shutdown. 2. Work Permit to be taken on the feeder where energy meter is going to be fixed. 3. CTs installation works has to be planned on holidays & Sundays due to involving of important feeder shut down requirement. 4. While drilling and filing the cut outs on the existing panels, care should be taken to avoid spilling of metal powder in the components of panel by covering.. 5. C.T of 10 VA inner dia of 70 mm outer dia of 120 mm to be mounted on a (approx. 150 x 450 mm P3 grade Hylum Sheet of 5 mm thick Size ) Hylum sheet firmly.
