If there is an area in which I would like to contribute, it would be in the area of the further development of the mediation program. Many people think that the Common Pleas court handles mostly criminal matters. In fact, the Common Pleas court handles many civil cases including, but not limited to, foreclosures, contract cases, injury cases, medical malpractice cases, and injunctions. As stated above, mediation can help as an alternative dispute resolution. This can help reduce litigation. I believe my experience with arbitration and mediation would be very useful to this end. Whether for past accomplishments or future goals, why should voters elect you? I have jury trial experience both civil and criminal; I have mediated and arbitrated a variety of cases. I have tried family law matters to magistrates and judges. I have handled appeals in both state and federal courts. I have been admitted to practice in the Federal District court. I have been recommended by the Lake County Bar Association. I received the Cali Excellence for the Future Award in Family Law. Family law is about understanding people and their needs. In addition to my experience, I am straight-forward and down-to-earth. I have been in private practice helping Lake County residents with a variety of legal needs for the past 18 years. I have worked with other fine lake county attorneys over the years. My practice has been in the same location on Center Street for 18 years. My background allows me to understand the needs of the people of Lake County. In addition, I appreciate what it is like for an attorney in private practice to represent their clients on a day to day basis.
