O R D E R: The following notification will be published in the Extra-ordinary issue of the Andhra Pradesh Gazette, dated: 20-08-11 2. The Traffic Police have represented for enhancement of Compounding Fee Under Section 200 of Motor Vehicles Act as the present amounts of fine are low and the traffic violators are not feeling the pinch of it. Considering the aspects of the Road Safety, traffic regulations, traffic violations and after careful examination Government considered revising the rates of Compounding Fee for better enforcement of provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act. 3. A copy of this order is available on the internet and can be assessed at the address http://aponline.gov.in NOTIFICATION In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 200 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988(Central Act, 59 of 1988) and in supersession of the notification issued in G.O.Ms.No.54,77,242 Transport, Roads &Buildings(Tr.I) Department dated 28.03.2006, as amended vide G.O.ms.No. 77 Transport, Roads and Buildings (TR.I) Department, Dated;3-5-2006 and G.o.ms.No.242, Transport Roads and Buildings (TR.I) Department, Dt;27-11-2006; the Governor of Andhra Pradesh hereby specifies the officers of the Transport Department not below the rank of Assistant Motor Vehicles Inspectors to compound offences under section 177,178,179,180,181,182(1),182(2),183,184,186,189,190(2),192(1),194(2),196 and 198 of Motor Vehicles Act 1988, and officers of the Police Department in uniform not below the rank of Inspector of Police and also Sub-Inspectors of Police(Traffic) wherever separate traffic police stations exist in Municipal Corporations(Metropolis)and Municipalities and the inspectors of police in other places to compound the offences under sections 177,178,179,180,181,182(1),183,184,186,189,190(2),192(1),194(2),196 and 198 of Motor Vehicles Act 1988, and officers of the Police Department not below the rank of the Sub-Inspector to compound the visible offences namely non-wearing of helmets, non-wearing of seat belts(Under Section 177), driving without license (Under Section 181, over speeding(Under Section 183(1) and using of cell/mobile phones while driving (Under Section 184) of the Motor Vehicles Act 1988 and that the compounding fee shall not be less than the rates indicated in the schedule.

4. The compounding fee collected by Police and Transport officials should be remitted into Treasury by Challan under the Head of Account 0041-Taxes on vehicles;(101)Receipts under the Motor Vehicles Act Receipts under the Indian Motor Vehicles Act-SH(03)-Compounding Fee under Section 86 and Section 20 of Motor Vehicles Act .

5. Provided that for Tractor Trailer combinations owned by agriculturists not used for hire or reward, the compounding fee shall be 50% of the rates prescribed in column(5) above 6. Provided further that the compounding fee for an offence shall not exceed
