JUNIOR CHORUS
The RSNO Junior Chorus was formed in 1978 by Jean Kidd. Since 1994 it has been directed by Chorus Director Christopher Bell, and has expanded its membership to over three hundred children. It has built up a considerable reputation singing under some of the worlds most distinguished conductors and appearing on radio and television. The choir follows the Kodly method of training: a fun, dynamic and effective singing teaching method for children. Through weekly rehearsals members are taught how to understand and appreciate music while also working hard to improve their condence and self-belief. To provide the highest level of training and guidance as the singers progress, the Chorus is divided into ve groups: Training Choir (age 78) Probationary Choir One (aged 910) Probationary Choir Two (age 1011) Changed Voices (for boys with broken voices) Junior Chorus (age 1218)
