EDWIN POWELL HUBBLE

Edwin Powell Hubble was born on November 20, 1889 in Marshfield, Missouri
He was borne from his mother, Virginia Lee, and his father, John Powell In January, little Hubble entered grade school In January 1898, Hubble moved to Wheaton

In 1906, Hubble graduated from Wheaton High School

EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONS


After college (January of 1910), Hubble was awarded the Rhodes Scholarship from the University of Chicago (with a Bachelor of Sciences) In January of 1912, Edwin completed his study of jurisprudence and went into the business of law at the mere age of 23 In May of 1914, Mr. Edwin Hubble returned to college (Oxford University), to study astronomy In June 1914, WWI started, so in 1917, he joined the military. Although the war ended in November 1918, Hubble was let out of the military in May of 1919

Hubble identified his first star that was called a Cepheid*

In May 1924, Edwin Hubble became a loving husband to his wife Grace Lillian Hubble -Burke They didnt, af ter many year s of marriage, have any kids

In May 1925, Edwin introduced a system of classifying galaxies the, International Astronomical Union, in which galaxies were either regular or irregular.
