9. Read the text below.

Time is very important, isn't it? Even a tiny little minute is important because eternity is in it. Our eternal destiny is determined by how we use our time. In Ephesians 5:15-16 (King James Version) says: See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil." The Apostle Paul reminds us that time is passing rapidly and evil is getting worse. We must make the most of the time to get ready to go to Heaven. We cannot lose time. How are we spending our time? Are we spending it wisely or foolishly? Are we seeking first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness? Are we spending quality time with Him so that we will know Him personally and intimately? When we know Him, as it is our privilege to do so, He will bless us beyond our dreams. He will help us to become what we should be in our community and in world. Answer the following questions based on the previous reading: 1. Why a tiny little minute is important? ________________________________________________________________________ 2. Why we should redeem time? _______________________________________________ 3. How people spend time foolishly? ________________________________________________________________________ 4. How can you spend time wisely? __________________________________________________________________________

THIS IS WHAT I DO EVERYDAY!

Audio Script: Hi, I'm Mike and this is my daily routine. I get Exercise: up early every day, around 6:30 and I go to the gym for a work-out before I go to work. I usually do aerobic exercise Without looking the audio script, answer for a while and then do some weight lifting for maybe half these questions: an hour at the gym, then I'll return home, and as I work from my home, I turn on my computer and start working on what needs to be done. I usually skip breakfast and I'll work until about 12:00 then I'll prepare lunch and have a fairly big lunch because I don't eat breakfast. Then after lunch, I'll go back, continue working on Internet or whatever I have to do for work, until about 6:00 when I usually start getting phone calls from friends of mine who live abroad and then in the evenings if I'm not using my time doing things with the Internet or surfing the web, then I'm speaking to people on the Internet or on my phone and that pretty much sums up my usual daily routine.

It can also be something a person often forgets or usually does not do. The Simple Present can also indicate the speaker believes that a fact was true before, is true now, and will be true in the future. It is not important if the speaker is correct about the fact. It is also used to make generalizations about people or things.

Marion, Ireland: Well, usually on a work day, I get up at half past six in the morning because I start work at eight o'clock. On the weekends I usually have a lie in so I wake up at about 9 or 10, sometimes 11, depending on how tired I am. Usually I go to be quite late, which isn't very good but maybe about midnight, sometimes later. It depends. I find it difficult to go to sleep early. Naomi, Australia: Well, I'm a night owl so I usually don't go to bed until about 3 a.m. in the morning and these days I have class from first period every day so I have to get up by about 7:30 or 8 a.m. Jeff, Canada: What time do I get up and what time do I go to bed? I go to bed late and I try to get up early. I like to get up early but getting up is a difficult thing to do, so I try to go the bed early. I try to go to bed early, 11 o'clock, 11:30, before midnight, and I try to get up early, 6:30, 7, before 7:30, but it doesn't always work.

Akane, Canada: What time do you usually get up and what time do you usually go to bed? I usually get up in the morning about 6:30, but that's only because I have to go to work. If I had a choice I would sleep in because I really hate mornings. I try to go to bed at around 10 p.m. so that I can get enough rest that I can get up in the morning for work, but I'd really rather stay up late, because I'm night person. Al, England: I get up when I want, usually in case I am working, unless I'm working. If I'm working I get up about 9, and I go to bed when feel tired, so that's usually about 1 or 2 or 3 a.m. Barbara, Australia: So, what time do I usually get up? Well, I usually wake up, maybe 5 or 6 in the morning, but I don't get up straight away. I stay in bed for awhile and get used the idea that the day is starting, maybe read a book or something, check my phone messages and I get up at maybe 7:30, 8. If it's a day off, I get up at nine or ten, and in the evening I usually go to bed around, oh, 10, 11, sometimes 12.

10. Read the text and then answer the questions

The word Bible comes from the Greek word 'biblia' which means 'books'. The Bible is not a single book but a collection of 66 books. There are 39 books in the Old Testament and 27 in the New Testament.

The word 'testament' means 'covenant' or 'agreement'. The books of the Old Testament were the scriptures of the Jewish people and this would be the Bible known to our savior Jesus.

The Bible was originally written on papyrus, made from reeds that grew at the side of rivers. The writing was done on long sheets which were rolled up and called 'scrolls'.

The first Bibles were written by hand, mainly by monks, and were often beautifully illustrated. They would have taken a very long time to make.

In 1947 a Bedouin shepherd boy found a collection of scrolls in stone jars in a cave near the Dead Sea. They are the oldest manuscripts we have of the Bible. People call them the 'Dead Sea Scrolls'.

The Bible was used in Latin for many centuries until it was translated into other languages. The Bible is now available translated into almost every language. The whole Bible is available in more than 330 different languages and the New Testament only in a further 770 languages!

We, Christians, believe and trust the Bible teach and guide us in our daily life

Ushers are a vital part of a positive worship experience for those attending services They perform several duties including preparing the church for the coming service, greeting and welcoming regulars and newcomers, seating them according to their preferences, providing for their special needs, and caring for them in the case of emergency. They also help parishioners find restrooms and childcare services and provide any general information required. During the service they take up the collection and bring the offering to the altar and control the flow of worshipers to the altar rail at communion time. After the service, they assist in straightening up the church for the next service and return the collection to the office where they count and record the offering. Each service is distinct, and requires flexibility in meeting the various needs that may arise. Anyone interested in becoming an usher should contact the Church Office
