For all the mahAvidyA goddesses there is an associated Bhairava or Shiva !hose "#AsanA is considered mandatory $y some so"rces% &he Bhairavas 'or the ten mahAvidyA-s are:

tri#"ras"ndarI ( laliteshvara $hairava )or tri#"reshvara $hairava*

tArA - akSho$hya $hairava

+hinnamastA - karAla $hairava )or krodha $hairava*

$h"vaneshvarI - mahAdeva $hairava

dh,mAvatI - kAla $hairava )or ghora $hairava*

Mahalakshmi - nArAya-a $hairava )or sadAshiva $hairava*

1itho"t the "#Asana o' the res#ective Bhairava0Shiva reciting the 'emale mahAvidyA alone does not grant one Mantra Siddhi% Ho!ever in the case o' Srividya the mantra is $oth a mantra and a vidya as it is shiva-shaktyAtmaka:

Ka-trayaM ha-d!ayaM chaiva shaivo $hAgaH #rakIrtitaH etc%

&h"s among the 2asha Mahavidyas the need 'or reciting a se#arate mantra 'or

&ri#"resh!ara Bhairava is eliminated 'or S"ndari as Srividya itsel' denotes $oth Shiva and Shakti% ,manandanatha #rescri$es kAmesh!ara mantra as an anga 'or mahASho2ashi $"t this is not in line !ith Kal#as"tras !hich has no mention o' this mantra% &his mantra seems to $e #resent only in trik,&A rahasya an a##endi3 to 4"dra 5amala !hich is not a standard Sri-K"la &antra% Moreover the 4a.ara.esh!ari Parishishtha and Shodashi Prakarana o' the same 5amala has no mention o' Kamesh!ara Mantra% Also o!ing to the 'act that trik,&A 4ahasya is solely addressing vAma mArgi-s )kA#Alika-s and kSha#a-aka-s in #artic"lar* others can sa'ely neglect this mantra and ,manandanatha6s #rescri#tion !hich is not in accordance !ith the Kal#as"tra% Again the same r"le a##lies 'or hAdi vidyA as !ell% &ho"gh 2evata 'or hAdi vidyA is mahA kAmeshvara $ha&&Araka the mantra like kAdi is again shivashaktyAtmaka )#ramA-a is 'rom hAdi mata and vAmakesh!ara tantra* and th"s the need 'or a se#arate kAmeshvarI mantra is eliminated% As Srividya is shivashaktyAtmaka it grants $oth Bhoga Moksha $y "#Asana o' one single mantra% Hence $hoga moksha #radAtrtva o' Srividya is highlighted among the ten mahAvidyAs% Ho!ever even other mahAvidyAs can $e considered shiva-shaktyAtmaka $y the #resence o' mAyA $I.A - !hich is "$hayAtmaka% &his ho!ever does not a##ly to dh,mAvatI !here the mAyA $I.a is missing indicating mith"na-hInatva% Hence some Sam#radayas do not insist on the mandatory "#Asana o' the corres#onding Bhairava%
