The role of assessment in learning culture, on this article of Lorrie A.

Sheppard I found out that this article are different to the other in a way that it focus on the process of assessment in which it can be use as a tool in instructions to enhance the learning of the student . We as a teacher or becoming a future teachers need to know that using assessment in our instruction are not only focus on running records, in simple way recording of the results of their paper and pencil test or performance test. But the most important is that we balance it in a way that they enhance their learning capabilities and the result of it are good performance either in different assessment uses by the facilitators or teachers. The author of this article are good in a way that gaining informations that is alid and reliable that can be pro e to be useful in enhancing the de elopment of the learner. She tackle the history perspecti e in curriculum , psychology and measurement so that we as the one who read his article can understand clearly. As I read the first part I could say that they ha e different beliefs and approaches uses in the process of assessment. !ne thing that I obser ed is that the when administered assesment it should be based on the curriculum they follow. The word assessment are broad it has a big part in learning. !n this article they also tackle the different concepts of curriculum, learning theories and measurement that can be use to enhance learning. study so that we can become more efficient and effecti e facilitators of learning. !n the part of the conceptual framework of the new theories of curriculum, learning and assessment. I obser e a lot of de elopment in classroom assessment pratices that can be more effecti e in the teaching and learning process . In a classroom practice the teacher imparts the three domains the cogniti e,affecti e and psychomotor in a way that it could help the student in the different aspects of acti ities that could totally de elop their learning e&periences. This is a good way of instruction to the learner because as you can see and know the different strengths and weaknesses of your students until such time you can formulate strategies in using assessment in teaching process were in totally de elop their learning process. (roffessional teachers and I as a future teacher need to know that we should open the mind of our students in a good impression when we conduct or administered assessment of paper an pencil test. That"s why we need to tell them what are the main purpose of assessment. It is not only for recording grades but it is for impro ement of learning of e ery indi idual. In that way we can protect and moti ate our students to learn better not only for gaining higher grades but also for thede elopment of their learning. )sing assement in the process of learning should de eloped. $ust like the goals it should be change our cultural practices and classroom practices. So that the students and teachers should look to assessment as a source of insight and help instead of the rewards and punishment. In assessment when you moti ate your students and you ha e an acti ity, you need to obser e your students if they can do independently and if not you are the one to guide them or to pro ide them assistance. In assessing feedback in the learner I agreed that it will lead to self assessment that"s why the goal of teaching should de elop the students understanding in a most comprehensi e way to understand different concepts. Self assessment of the learner are better in a way that they can access herself to be prepared and to be responsible for their own learning. In e aluati e of teaching it is ery important that the teacher are responsible in the de elopment of a community of learners where they naturally seek feedback and criti#ue their own work. It is the most important part of the teacher in assessment that we can be part of the de elopment of the learner.
