What is Yoga?

Yoga is the union between mind, body and spirit. Yoga is the restraint of thoughts in the mind: cessation of thoughts in the mind (Second sutra from Patanjilis Yoga Sutras). Yoga is the development of physical ability including flexibility, strength, and endurance. Yoga is the connection between mind and body. The six paths of yoga are: Bhakti Yogathe yoga of devotion Jna Yogathe yoga of wisdom, knowledge, philosophical inquiry Karma Yogathe yoga of action; the path of selfless services Rja Yogathe yoga of the systematic approach to control the thoughts in the mind Hatha Yoga the physical Yoga Japa Yoga the yoga of mantras Bhakti Yoga Bhakti yoga is the yoga of devotion. This is the path of the heart and devotion. The important thing is the person on following this path should have a emotional bond with the object of faith so in this way, the flow od emotional energy can be directed to this object. seen as the surest and easiest path of yoga for the Self liberation or enlightenment. Jnna Yoga Jnna yoga is yoga of wisdom, knowledge, and right inquiry, It is the process of converting intellectual knowledge into practical wisdom. It is, also, an intellectual approach to spiritual liberation. Karma Yoga Karma yoga is yoga of action; it is the selfless services to humanity, the world, animals, and the Higher Being. Karma Yoga is the path of devotion through work. This practice helps to purify the heart and through the constant practice one can reach the highest state of yoga. Rja Yoga Rja yoga is a systematic and comprehensive system which helps to refine human behaviours thorough a step-by-step approach to control the thought in the mind;

This techniques are elaborate on the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, more specifically the an eight limbs or Asthanga Yoga approach to control the mind: the process of Self realization.

Hatha Yoga Physical yoga, uses exercises which includes, asanas (physical postures), pranayamas (breathing exercises), and relaxation and meditation to achieve better health, as well as spirituality.

Japa Yoga Japa yoga is the yoga of Mantras. Mantras mean repetition of sounds, in particular way. A person who follows this can chant to achieve salvation or union with the supreme consciousness. .

Pratyhra (sense withdrawal) Focus of the mind inward that constrains the senses from and losses interest of external objects. Dhra (concentration) Mental concentration on an object, practices, and/or teaches. Dhyna (meditation) Samdhi (state of peace, joy, contentment)
