Students will receive one small cup of tea and each table will receive one dropper with lemon +uice. Students will ma*e predictions in their science +ournal about the reaction of the tea once a drop of lemon +uice is added. -If then because statement1. 0he students will proceed to add one drop of lemon +uice to the tea and observe illustrate and describe what has happened to the tea. E#planation 0he students will be as*ed to e#plain how and why they believe humans continue to chan!e and dama!e the earth. What are the benefits we see? So what? What is important to understand about this?

0he purpose of this unit is to ma*e students aware of their impact on the world around them. /s humans we often do thin!s that have ma+or affects on our planet and because the results are not seen automatically we fail to ta*e responsibility for our actions. 0his unit also serves as a review aid for previous lessons about photosynthesis and the water cycle.
