Student Survey ONE Results Goal Perception and understanding of our classroom wiki Please note: This initial

survey was conducted on March 4, 2014 and analy ed shortly after! The following student comments were taken directly from the survey indicating student understanding of our classroom wiki! " # think the purpose of our classroom wiki is to learn $ut to have fun at the same time! # think this $ecause when we were e%ploring mi%tures and solutions we were listening to videos that were funny $ut they also told us a lot a$out mi%tures and solutions! &lso, when the students last year made a person talk it looks fun $ut you also learn a lot, so that's why # think the purpose of the wiki is to learn $ut have fun!( " # think the purpose of the classroom wiki is so we can have fun ways to learn, study, and do pro)ects!( " # think the purpose of our classroom wiki is that there are study tools for us, and so we can have with it!( "The purpose of our classroom wiki is that it is a helpful tool to do something like science, math, and may$e even reading! #t is pretty fun, $ut it is still a helpful tool for all of us in the class! #t will help us get good grades and make us get father in life like in college!( " # think the purpose of our classroom wiki is to share what we have learned with each other through pro)ects! # think this $ecause we are going to share pro)ects like our figurative language animation and our historic person pro)ects *those two pro)ects have not $een done yet, $ut you said we will eventually do them+!

Teacher/Researcher Reflection: The wiki was introduced prior to March 4, 2014 *when this survey was conducted+, $ut $riefly! The researcher presented the wiki to students throughout the months of ,eptem$er through -e$ruary to gain insight into student interest towards the classroom wiki! This period of time was also to answer .uestions, review student e%pectations, showcase past student work, and allow students to view various resources/components availa$le to them! 0verall, survey one indicated that students were well aware of their classroom wiki and wanted to get started on wiki pro)ects and gain access themselves! ,tudents were given a specific 1est 2hester 3istrict 1iki user name and password mid 4anuary! 5efore the start of the researchers figurative language graduate research study the researcher allowed students time to e%plore the components/resources of the wiki discussed in prior months! This was intentional so that all participants understood and felt comforta$le $logging, em$edding, linking, and uploading information on the their classroom wiki! The researcher during this time can conclude, through o$servations and survey one that students were e%cited/motivated to learn content through wiki pro)ects as well as utili e videos and resources/tools found on the wiki under "student resources(!
