Songjiang Hotel

Winning design entry for a five-star resort hotel set within a beautiful
water-filled quarry in the Songjiang district near Shanghai, China.

The hotel stands two levels higher than the rock face of the 100 metre
deep quarry and includes underwater public areas and guestrooms.

An aquatic theme runs through the design both visually and

functionally. Two underwater levels will house a restaurant and
guestrooms facing a ten-metre deep aquarium. The lowest level of the
hotel will contain a leisure complex with a swimming pool and water-
based sports.

The entire hotel is to be covered in a green roof, while the building will
use geothermal energy for it’s electrical supply and heating.

TEDA Towers
 Winning design entry for new landmark buildings in Tianjin, China.

To be located in the Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area, TEDA.

Each tower consists of series of 8 storey high cubes. The cubes are rotated,
spiraling up the towers. On the top of each tower will be advanced vertical wind-
power turbines.

Shenzhen International Airport Terminal 3

Under construction at Shenzhen, China.

The design considers ecological effects by using an innovative

two-skin layer which will reduce energy consumption and
allow natural light to permeate the structure.
The project has also been specifically designed to make the
most effective use of local resources and will be built with
local contractors.

Reflections at Keppel Bay

Will comprise six glass towers and 11 villa apartment blocks along a 750-m
shoreline. The towers are of 24-storey to 41-storey heights while the villa blocks
range from six-storeys to eight-storeys.

Shanghai Tower

Under construction in Shanghai, China.

Set to become one of the tallest structures in the

world and the tallest in China. It will complete the
three planned supertall structures standing next to
each other in the financial district.

The tower will be organised as nine cylindrical

buildings stacked atop each other, enclosed by
the glass facade´s inner layer. Between that and
the outer layer, nine indoor gardens at different
levels will provide public space for Shanghai
residents. The tower will feature the world's
highest non-enclosed observation deck.

The design of the glass façade will reduce wind

loads on the building by 24%, meaning less
construction materials are needed, the twisting
feature will collect rainwater to be used for the
tower's air conditioning and heating systems.
Wind turbines will generate power for the
building.

Regatta Hotel
Under construction in Jakarta, Indonesia.

As centrepiece of a new area development, the Regatta stands as an arch-shaped five-

star 320-room luxury hotel, which is surrounded by 10 residential towers providing a
total of 920 apartments.

Constructed in Beijing, China.

Part of Olympic complex. Served as information facility for the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008. It will become an information service center
for the municipal government's data storage, information security, emergency-response command and information service.

Television Cultural Center (TVCC)

Under construction in Beijing, China.

Part of CCTV Headquarters complex. The building will feature a 1500 seat theatre, audio studios, digital cinemas, a ballroom, exhibition space,
news release hall, AV rooms and digital transmission rooms.

On February 9, 2009 the TVCC building caught fire. The cause has been linked to a massive Chinese New Year fireworks display in the
compound, authorized by CCTV itself.

The blaze rendered the structure unusable, as the zinc and titanium alloy of the outer skin was burnt.

Beijing Airport - Terminal 3
New terminal constructed for Beijing Airport, China.

Terminal 3 is larger than London Heathrow Airport's 5 terminals combined with

another 17% to spare.

The terminal is the 2nd largest passenger terminal in the world, only surpassed
by Dubai International Airport's Terminal 3.
