Summary of Evaluations
Brainstorming is a group creativity technique by which efforts are made to gather a list of ideas spontaneously contributed by its members about a specific topic. Sharing and discussing ideas allows the members of a group to be aware of other ways of thinking about a specific subject and also to clear ideas based on the discussion itself. Vocabulary is a technique used to learn new words. The word search is used to practice the new words learned with the vocabulary. The online formative activity is focused to put into practice all the knowledge recently acquired. Games directly related to the topic create an appropriate and good environment for children to learn. The written activity is the final formative activity to put into practice what they learned before with previous activities. An oral presentation gives the student the opportunity of showing his/her confidence in the acquired knowledge. The rubric is the instrument used to evaluate the oral presentation. It contains all the criteria to be evaluated.

of food do you know? What do you know about the food pyramid? What fruits do you know? Etc. Sharing and discussion of the ideas that came out from the brainstorming in order to evaluate students previous knowledge. The student will write down a vocabulary containing the words related to the topic (some food present in the different groups of the food pyramid: fruits, vegetables, etc.) in order to practice them, relate them with the correct image to identify the different types of food present in the food pyramid. Word search using the words from the vocabulary and images. The student will observe the image of one element of the food pyramid present in the vocabulary and will find the word in the group of letters. The student will put his/her knowledge into practice with an activity on line called The Banquet The student will put his/her knowledge into practice in two different games. In the Blindfold Guess game the student is blindfolded and the teacher gives him/her an object to feel. The student must guess what the object is. In this case the teacher will use plastic fruits to challenge the student to guess. The second game is called Give me a/an In this game the teacher can use objects (plastic fruits) or flashcards. The teacher gathers and elicits the different kinds of fruits she/he has. Then he/she throws all the fruits or cards around the classroom. Once the students have collected the fruits or cards the teacher says Give me an apple. The student with the apple should approach the teacher and hand him/her the fruit I have the apple. The student will draw a big triangle or pyramid divided in the sections corresponding to the food pyramid on an 8 x 11 white page. They will have to bring images from newspapers, magazines or drawings of different types of food and place each one of them in the correct category. The student will deliver a speech in which he/she is going to describe his/her favorite meal and mention all the ingredients needed to prepare it. He/she is going to mention his/her favorite meal, the reason why this meal is his/her favorite and mention each one of the ingredients needed. He/she is also going to make a chart to illustrate the plate and the ingredients. The chart will include the name of the meal as the title and a picture or drawing illustrating the meal, and an image for each one of the different ingredients. The oral presentation will be evaluated by using a rubric created by the teacher.

Curricular Adaptations
In case of having a student with special educational needs, the teacher must consult with a Special Education teacher and communicate him/her about the situation of the student. The special education teacher will give you some instructions on how to proceed with the students activities in order to get him to learn and acquire as much knowledge as he/she can, taking into account his/her learning skills.

Student with special needs

Non Spanish-speaking student

In case of having a student who does not speak Spanish, the teacher should adjust the contents and activities to make them easier to understand for the student. The teacher should also ask a specialist in the language for help to make the adjustments to the contents. In case this situation happens in the indigenous regions such as the Ngbe-Bkl Comarca, the teacher can ask a native student to help his/her classmate or assign him/her as a tutor. Another option is to ask a native teacher to help him/her with the translation of the indications in order to get the student clear about what he/she has to do.

Talented student

In the case of having a talented student the teacher can proceed with several options for him/her: -Once he/she finished the assignment, the teacher can ask him/her to make a brief analysis of the importance of the topic. The teacher can ask him/her to read the next chapter of the unit or to explore in a brief way what is the next topic about. The teacher can ask the student to help another classmate assigning him/her as a tutor.
