Virtual Power Plant Tour Observe the animations and images of the various power plants.

Create a graphic organizer summarizing some of the similarities and differences among the different types of power plants. For each example, ask: What parts do they have in common? What energy transformations are happening? What is turning the turbine? Is the resource renewable or non-renewable? 4he process each system goes through in some parts is very different, but for the most part they all use practically the same ways to transform energy and how to turn the turbine. 4he main difference 9 see is the amount of pollution each creates and if the power source is renewable or not. Out of the ? the one 9 like the most is Cind 2ower 9 think it*s effective and it*s very clean. 4he down side is that it takes up a lot of space, is noisy so will probably be built somewhere isolated and it kills birds, but regardless it*s a good source of energy because the wind won*t run out. 4he worst is between nuclear and coal. For me they are both bad because coal produces so much waste and it*s very dangerous for humans for their health. $uclear is 1ust dangerous for example if there are leaks there could be another 4hree @ile 9sland situation which was scary. <opefully though within the next couple of years people will be more willing to switch to alternative energy and the government will be willing to supply more money for alternative energy research. For example 9 know there needs to be done more research on biofuels which should be done because the idea of using biomass as oil is a good and clean idea.
