Stacy Flowers has to report all volunteer hours to the county today. As a charter school, we need participation from ALL MVMPCS families, as parent volunteer participation reflects positively on our school in many ways. Your hours absolutely do make a difference! Currently, we have over 11,000 hours logged! (A huge THANKS to those who have already logged!) Remember all your hours from May 1, 2013 will be counted. Please include your committee & club hours, all hours attending school GC or BOT meetings, any hours that you spent doing projects for the school at home, as well as your in-school volunteer hours. Thanks to all of the parents that volunteer at MVMPCS, each and every day. Our Parent Volunteer Tea is scheduled for May 16th at 2:00 PM, in the first floor conference room. At MVMPCS we love recognizing all of our volunteers, for the time that you give each and every year to our school. You are truly appreciated by all the staff at MVMPCS.

FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Move Up Day is on May 22rd from 9:30 to 10:30. This day allows for students to shadow and spend the day at their new level for next year. This is a very special day for all of our students and a day that they look forward to each year. Please encourage your child to arrive to school on time and we ask that appointments be scheduled after the Move Up scheduled time.
Hope you have marked your calendar to attend one of the Parent Visitation Days. The Parent Classroom Visitation Days will be on Thursday, May 8th from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. and Wednesday, May 14th from 9:3010:30 a.m. These days are set aside for parents of children that will be moving to another level. For example Primary to Lower Elem., Lower Elem. to Upper Elem., and Upper Elem. to MS. During this time parents can visit individual classrooms of each level for 10 minutes intervals. Parents are asked to rotate through the classrooms, so they are able to see the differences in all classes. All parents will receive a Classroom Placement Feedback Form to complete. These forms can be picked up in the front office after the visitation. The form will ask for you to identify the characteristics of your child and the characteristics of a teacher. Your characteristic similarities will be considered, along with teacher recommendation for your childs placement for next year. Please do not write the name of a specific teacher on the Classroom Placement Forms. Filling out this form does not guarantee you a placement in a specific teachers classroom. When your form is completed please drop it off at the front office by the end of the day on Tuesday, May 20th, so they can be given to the current classroom teacher before teams meet to make placement decisions. Have a wonderful weekend,
