Alstra Industries, Inc. is an independently
operated company established in 2003. Alstra
incorporates over 60 years of experience stemming
from the creation of Magney Electric Motors in
1944. Alstra employs highly skilled craftspeople,
engineers, and consultants.
Tis allows Alstra to be a specialized provider of
new and remanufactured electric submersible
motors for municipalities, industrial applications,
and of shore oil platforms. Te management and

Advantages of the Alstra Oil Filled Motor
Finely machined bearings for a closer tolerance
ft and smoother rotor operation.
Large radial bearing surfaces for increased
radial load handling that reduces vibration.
Increased strength of equalizing diaphragm
ensures long life and dependable operation of
equalizing pressures within the motor. Tis makes
the motor self-contained and free from possible
contamination from the product being pumped.
Dual mechanical seals are placed back to back
eliminating a cavity that collects moisture.
Increased size of stator casing the centrifugally
cast stator casing wall thickness has been increased,
making the stator more resistant to warping
and misalignment.
M19-C5 coated and annealed laminations for
stator and rotor the highest quality laminations
improve motor efciency
Continuous power leads eliminates a potential
failure point at the plug-in connection
Computerized dynamically balanced rotor
to API/NEMA specifcations

Exterior Coatings Standard is Epoxy
coating which prevents corrosion to exposed
areas of motor.
Sub-fex coupling extends motor life by
preventing normal pump wear from transmitting
possible misalignment and vibration to the motor.
With the ALSTRA dual pressure balancing
system the windings are not exposed to external
water and contaminates.
Te ALSTRA motor can be installed on any
NEMA standard manufactured pump without
major modifcations. Special mounts and
adaptors are optional.
Four thermal sensors are added, one to the
Kingsbury thrust bearing and three sensors
in the windings.
Te ALSTRA motor provides the capability of
combining the most efcient motor with the
best bowl assembly for optimal system
performance. All motors are extensively tested
and documented throughout the assembly to
ensure a completed motor of the highest quality
and dependability.

PT 100 Style Thermal Protection
PT100 (Platinum Resistance Transducers) are an
economical and accurate method of measuring
temperature. Te PT100 reads resistance in
proportion to the temperature in the submersible
motor. Tis provides the ability to calculate the
temperature of the motor under actual operating
conditions. All Alstra oil flled motors are equipped
with four PT100 style thermal sensors. Te sensors
are mounted in the stator winding, at each guide
bearing/lower turns, and one is mounted near the
thrust bearing. Te signals from the sensors
interface with a temperature monitor and are
compatible with SCADA systems or other PLC
based equipment.

Repair & Remanufacturing Capabilities
Alstra is a factory authorized
warranty repair facility for:
Alstra Submersible Motors
Sumoto Submersible Motors
EIM waste water motors
SAER Electric motors
Alstra Industries has the in house machining and
fabrication capabilities to repair or manufacture
obsolete or hard to get parts. Alstra also converts
mercury seal applications to single or double
mechanical seals. Alstra employees are fully trained
in the proper handling and disposal of mercury and
other hazardous waste.
Inspection and Repair Services
Alstra Industries provides comprehensive
inspection, failure analysis, and repair services for
submersible motors in water well, waste water, de-
watering mine and ofshore applications. Alstra has
the expertise required to repair and remanufacture
all brands of submersible motors. An inventory of
exchange units is maintained covering popular
frame sizes and horse powers. Call for availability

Repair and refurbishing of waste water and mixer pumps
Alstra Industries is authorized as a service center
for waste water pumps and motors. Alstra has
the capabilities of doing minor repairs or complete
rebuilds. Our process begins by:
1. Steam cleaning unit to completely remove any
foreign materials and sanitize the unit
2. Sandblasting to remove any remaining hardened
or encrusted materials
3. Provide a detailed tear down and inspection
of unit, including pictures, to identify
repairs required.
4. Once authorized unit will be repaired to as new
specifcations, including rewind (if required) new
seals, gaskets, and O rings.

Subfex Coupling
Te Proprietary Subfex Coupling is designed to
accommodate slight misalignments while
transmitting the driving torque and pump thrust in
either direction. Te coupling allows the pump and
motor to be assembled and disassembled readily in
the feld.
