F GC4225 Bridges the gap between toughness and wear resistance

Extensive research and development in the challenging and demanding area of general steel turning has resulted in the release of our new grade GC4225.To embrace these demands ( the many varied operations, component features, materials and machining conditions) and to find a grade that can provide excellent results in these areas has been our focus.

Working together to make you more competitive

GC4225 takes your machining performance to its optimum - The number one choice for machining low carbon steel through to high alloy steel. - The breakthrough is in the special coating with excellent adhesion to the substrate giving you superior edge line security. - Reliable you no longer have to choose between increased safety and faster production You can have both!

GENERAL TURNING

Security + Predictability + Versatility + Durability = Productivity

Security- the grade to rely on

- Better security and reliabilty through significantly improved resistance to flaking, chipping and crater wear.

Predictability
- By reducing the risk of edge damage the GC4225 is more reliable than its predecessor. - More wear resistant tools can increase productivity through higher metal removal rate, fewer tool changes and reduced downtime. - Trouble free machining.

Versatility-broader application area

- Bridges the gap between toughness and wear resistant operations. - GC4225 has a greater capacity to tolerate the often demanding variations arising from the application area. - It provides a new potential for increasing production through higher cutting data reinforced by increased reliability. - Gives assured confidence in different operations from roughing to finishing, one off to mixed production, continuous to light/medium interrupted cuts and even wet and dry machining. - Greater tolerance in material batch variation. - A good balance between security and productivity.

Durability
- The proven resistance against plastic deformation makes the grade more durable. - Engineered to make it ideal for withstanding higher cutting data and provide better resistance in dry machining and in longer contact time operations (large component manufacturing).

Dedicated ISO P turning grades

GC4225 now gives you the opportunity to widen your application area in every direction.

GC4225 the right choice and no compromise!

Grade development often goes unseen but is the foundation of our productivity offer to you our customers. This is just one of hundreds of field tests carried out in the development of GC4225 to ensure that when introduced success is guaranteed. This test was carried out on low alloy steel crankshafts with continuous cutting of the bearing journals and the tough intermittent cutting over the crankshaft lobes. The results below show that GC4225 outperfoms the current market leader and clearly demonstrates Security - reduced wear in an interrupted cut -a toughness demanding operation - double the number of components per edge capability - increased cutting speed by 25%
