who was it- japanese. Citizen of the U.S. or not, children, infants, and young adults not yet of voting age were taken into internment camps. What happened- U.S. citizen and legal permanent resident alien Japanese were taken to internment camps surrounded with barbed wire and armed guards. Following the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, President Franklin D. Roosevelt issues executive order 9066. This permitted the military to circumvent the constitutional safeguards of American citizens in the name if national defense. c-Where did it happen- The west coast jWhen did it happen- shortly after Pearl Harbor which was on December 7, 1944 jWhy did it happen- At the time, Executive order 9066 was justifies as a military necessity to protect against domestic espionage and sabotage. c-Later on, the United States had proof that it had in its possession that not one Japanese American Citizen or not, had engaged in espionage. Nor one person had committed any act of sabotage
c-Rather the cases for this unprecedented action in American history, according to the commission of wartime Relocation and Internment of civilians , j- were motivated largely by racial prejudice wartime hysteria, and a failure of political leadership
