F. Vocabulary
Counsel or government the relation between a governed and a governing word.
Conflict - a serious disagreement or argument, typically a protracted one.
G. Procedure:
1. Introduction: During this time I will explain students that they will be breaking off into
their groups that they were in yesterday and that they will be creating an infographic
of all the information they included in their outline. Their infographic must include the
map they created yesterday.
2. Instruction: Students will break into their groups and gather all necessary supplies. The
teacher will hand back their maps and outlines. Copies were made so that every
student has one and the original will be the one used in the infographic.
3. Cooperative Learning Groups: The group will work together to make a detailed
infographic of all the information in their ouline.
4. Review/Presentation: The last 15 minutes of the lesson are reserved for the groups
getting in front of the class to discuss their infographic and the information it included.
H. Assessment:
What will you use to measure student understanding?
Observation. I will walk around and observe the groups as they work with each other. I
will note anything I feel needs to be addressed or modified.
Infographic. I will review the infographic when it is turned in.
Presentation. I will listen to what was said during the presentation on the groups
country.

Explain how you will know students understand the concepts from the lesson.
Competition of the lesson plan activity which states reasons for exploration, problems
that occurred, and competition with a neighboring European country clearly during
their group presentation as well as on their group inforgraphic.
I. Closure:
Closure for this lesson will be that students could relay the information on their outline
on both their infographic and during their presentation.
J. Reflection:
1. Which part of the lesson do you think will be the easiest for you to teach?
I think the introduction will be the easiest part for me to teach and listening to the
presentations.

2. Which part will be most challenging for you to teach?
I dont really see a challenging part to teach during this lesson. Ill be around to
assist students with their questions for assembling their infographic.
3. How will you follow up or extend this lesson?
This lesson completes my unit on exploration.
4. What can you do for students who dont grasp the concepts?
For students who didnt grasp the concepts, I would have them put together a list
of questions they wanted clarification on and then have them do a side project
where they create a diary entry as an explorer. During their diary entry they will
have to answer their question by researching it in one of the books available Ill
have in class or on the internet.
5. Which part of the lesson, if any, do you think might need to change?
I dont think this lesson really needs to change. If anything I would want to add
more time so that the presentations could be a little longer.
6. When you were writing this lesson plan, what was the most difficult part?
The time constraint. I dont feel like 55 minutes is enough.
