Outline your perfect political structure. Define its laws and its governing body. Answer as
best you can the problems that we face right now in education, economy, social and legal
areas. Build your utopian government and describe its workings in detail.
We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect Union, establish
Justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general
Welfare, and secure the blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and
establish this Constitution for the United states of America. These are word of the constitution
that was written and put together to protect our own freedoms and liberties to keep a government
that is big or small away from harming each others way of life.
Our country is facing a problem that has and will effecting the way that we have been
living our lives. In the problems that are faced we need to evaluate what problems are in our
education, economic, social and legal system and then explain what type of political structure
that can make all these areas better for not just the government, but the people as well. First we
need to look into the history of our four fathers and how we became a Democratic Republic that
has an attribute of capitalism.
Our four fathers who dealt with the problems of a totalitarian regime and fighting for the
freedom from a government that would oppress the people to believe in what the government
tells them to believe. They constructed and fought about the way the government should be
structured. These fights brought together two types of ideologies that are a check and balance to
our governmental system. The Federalist believed that the laws should be structured on a central
government that all states work together with the government. The anti-federalist believed that
the government should have separate state powers with the federal government helping in grants
for law enforcement and other bureaucracies (Schmidt, Shelley, and Bards 20-21, 34).
The United States government two way systems, which is republican and democratic still
goes by the concept of the beliefs of the federalist and anti-federalist. The two way system has
evolved into more broad fields that have the focus for the rights of people (democratic) and for
the right of businesses and economic practices (republican). Another type of ideology that is part
of the two part system is mostly on how the ideologies play a part in the politics of the people in
the United States. These two types of ideologies are known as conservative and liberal and they
explain the means to our government on how some politics is different than others.
Conservatives can be associated with the Republicans, because of the fact that they want
to conserve their own state rights. A conservative has an untrusting bias of the federal
government, because of the fear of a big government. A conservative would be more likely
wealthy because of the fact that they work more with businesses and the business holders. The
ideology of this way of politics does have the agreement of the constitution and the bill of rights,
but they do not agree with federal rights over ruling state rights (12, 145).
Liberals are more associated with democrats because how they are conferrable with
change. Liberals are conferrable with civil liberties and the concept of same-sex marriage,
because they are for the people; they also feel that it would be better for the people to have these
changes so we can all be treated equal. The down fall to this ideology is how it puts its faith in
the hands of the federal government; because they feel that the three-way system is what protects
our way of life threw the constitution and the bill of rights (13, 145).
The system in the United States also has a three branch government to provide the checks
and balances, so that there is no chance of a dictatorship and insurance to the constitution. The
three branch of government consist of congress, judiciary, and the executive (presidency). The
executive can refuse to enforce the courts decisions, grants pardons, proposed laws by supporting
legislatives, veto a bill, make treaties, executive agreements and orders, refuse to enforce
congressional legislation, and call special sessions of congress. Congress can rewrite legislation,
confirm federal judges, determine the number of judges, impeach the executive, override
presidential veto of legislation, and provide funds to the presidents programs. The Judiciary can
declare presidential actions unconstitutional and declare congressional laws unconstitutional
(33). With how much regulatory action there are in the three branches you would wonder how
anything gets done, but the reason the process works is because there is no prime power that calls
the shots. We can see this as a way to protect our rights in the constitution and the bill of rights.
Lets take a look at the problems that we are facing in our government today in
economics, education, and policy. We need to first look at the economics because it ties towards
to the policy and the grants that are provided for the bureaucracys and government jobs like
education.
Our problem in economics is the fact that people are being left behind and it is because
the corruption of the corporate businesses. An article post by Suzy Khimm talks about a problem
with the separation of finances which is called the 1 percent of Americans. What is stated in the
article is a 1% of American households had a minimum income of $516,633; the bottom 60
percent earns a maximum of $59,154; the bottom 40 percent earned a maximum of $33,870; and
the bottom 20 percent earned just $16,961 (par 2).
The reason this is a big problem is the fact that we are living in a country that is in favor
of the conspirators of wealth and power. We still have the power of voting and power of attorney
but the rights of the people of the United States are diminishing and have become unfair to the
99% of Americans. Today the 1% of people that holds most of the funds and are paying less tax
than the 99%. Lets consider the social security payroll tax which applies to every dollar of
income up to a cap stated as $117,000 and anything over this amount is not subject to Social
Security taxes at all. What is sad about this is while the 2
nd
class is spending 25-30% on taxes the
richest fifth of the 1 % pay only 5.6 percent (Reich 6, 8).
The problem of the economics that clearly separates the 99% from the 1% does have it
problems in how people are struggling and paying more taxes, but we need to see how this
affects the school system and policy. Robert Reich from the Huffington post states that
Republicans would like to cut cost even more for the rich. He states that Senator Paul Ryan
would like to cut cost in the United States budget by slicing Medicare, Education, and food
stamps to lower the top federal tax rates to 25 percent (par 9).
What we can see from the problems that we face in our own government is the anarchy of
money and how unequal it has become threw corporate and political power. Right now we are in
danger of entering into a field that our four fathers are afraid of and as it stands we are not a
democracy any more. We are now entering into a field of a political strength of an Aristocracy
(powered by the few and the upper class) and these strengths from this type of government has a
dangerous path because people dont have the say. The only people that have the will and the
power to use their voice is the wealthy 1% of people and they have for a long time in politics and
business. What is the right path that we should take is what is explained which is my ideal
political system.
My Ideal structure is a system that would make the country function in a different way
and it makes everything equal between all parties of rich and poor. One type of government that
has been frowned down on is a concept of splitting fund equally which is called socialism. Many
people state that if funds are spread out and given for doing no work is it fair to everyone else
and will this give the government power to fraudulently hold funds from the people. Lets look at
an ideology called democratic socialism that states in an interest group called DSAUSA that the
belief is that the economy and society should be ran democratically to meet public needs, not to
make profit for a few (par 1).
The way I see democratic socialism is not in the way that it was seen in the days of the
red scare but in the way of fixing a major problem in our government and economics. The way I
see system working is threw a means that is done on star trek where everyone makes the same
thing and everyone choose on what they would like to do with their life.
The way I see the system working is first dependent on the organization of the
businesses. Like today we would have people working for the businesses and management to
make sure everything runs perfectly. The businesses then would transfer all funds to a special
affair that is in charge of all revenues that are made by the corporations. After each month the
affairs would be evaluated to make sure that they are not being fraudulent on all accounts in
checking all books of the bookies and comparing them to the books of all the corporations in the
United States including businesses overseas.
The next step is distribution of funds that would happen on the first day of each month.
First all bills would be paid: bureaucracies, scientific programs, colleges and university supplies,
the military, health care, education, and any other type of things that is needed for peoples life.
After all is been done everyone that is a citizen in the United States are given funds that are split
evenly.
On how this would help our society is that we would follow the constitution so no prime
dictator would be created in making funds unfair. On how this can be prevented is threw the
structure of a four balancing system which is composed of the congress, judiciary, treasury, and
the executive. This would be the checks and balance for a democracy socialism and it would
make things fair for all. The difference between who is richer and poorer would be non-existing.
I can say that there would be no unfair wages everything would be done equally which is called,
equality for all.
