Unit: Chapter 20: Revolutions in Europe and Latin America

Time Period: May 9-May 20

I. Learning Essentials:
6.3.1: Europe-Analyze the economic, political, and social transformations in Europe by using historical
and modern maps to describe how the wars of the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic periods and
growing nationalism changed the political geography of Europe and other regions.

Students will have a test on Chapter 21 The Industrial Revolution.
Then, students will read Chapter 20-1 and take notes on
conservatism, liberalism, and nationalism, as well as conflicts in
Serbia, Greece, and other revolts.

Class will begin with a formative quiz on conservatism, liberalism,
and nationalism (20-1). . Then, class will review the Congress of
Vienna and conservatism, liberalism, and nationalism. Then,
students will be grouped and assigned a specific country to research

Class will begin with a formative quiz. Then, students will finish
presenting their revolution to the class. For homework, students will
map the revolutions in Europe and Latin America.

Class will begin with a formative quiz on the revolutions from
Tuesday and Wednesday. Then, class will discuss Latin American
revolutions in Mexico, Haiti, Venezuela, and Columbia. Students will
create a time line of the revolutions.
