Does early marriage is a good or bad trend?

Nowadays, early marriage has become a trend in Malaysia. The early marriage in Malaysia could be
the range between 20-23 years old for women and 22-25 years old for men. However, there are
some orthodox belief that early marriage is a bad trend as they are too young to make a living and
lack of skills to cope out with marriage conflicts. But there are pros and cons for this trend.
The positive side of this trend was it is one of good way to overcome the social problems
such as drugs abuse, alcoholic and hedonisms activity. By marriage in the early age, it will prevent
the husband and wife to spend more quality time together instead of hanging around wasting times
loitering at the shopping complex, pubs and bars. Spending time with their spouses also could
prevent them from spending too much on something that unnecessary such as gadgets. Early
marriage also can be one of the essential factor to distract teenagers from having useless problem
such as love problems, which could lead to bigger problems if the relationship ends up badly.
Besides that, early marriage also teach teenagers many aspects of life, such as how to
handle out conflicts, money management, and also in aspect of social relationship with spouses
family. Conflicts in marriage is a normal thing to be face by any married couple. Since they are still
young, they tend to make mistake. And by this, they could learn to understand their couple very
well, and trying their best to make things right again. By early marriage, they also adapt the ability to
make a budget to ensure they will not bump into financial problems, especially if they are still
learning in colleges or universities. Husband and wife could cooperate together making monthly
budget and spending so that they still can spending for something else without facing financial
issues. Married couple could fix their relationship with their spouses family such as their father-in-
law and mother-in-law by visiting them or having a family vacation together.
But there is a negative side of early marriage is that married couple tend to rely too much on
their parents when they are facing conflict with their partner. This is bad as married couple should
try to solve their own conflicts before consult to their parents. If they tend to rely too much on their
parents, in the end, itll lead to another conflict if their parents are being biased. If this problem cant
be solved properly, it could lead to bigger conflict such as argument between both of the families or
divorce of the couple.
As conclusion, I strongly believe and support early marriage as it is a good trend. They could
be facing a lot of issues, but parents should try to consult and become a good advisor toward their
child so that they could adapt and trying their best to be independence when facing out issues and
conflicts. Early marriage also should be the stepping stone of having a more civilised society
especially in family institution as marriage usually related to sacred relationship by certain
religions and customs. But the couple should be mentally, emotionally and physically ready before
they are willing to says those magical words I do and I accept. Marriage is all about love and
responsibility, not for fun or a game. So I believe, early marriage is a good trend, as long as they are
being responsible towards their couple.
