WE, the members of the Ateneo Catechetical Instruction League (ACIL) of
Xavier University, guided by the grace of our Almighty od and !lacing ourselves
under the !rotection of our Lord, "esus Christ, and #is $lessed %other, see&s to
form ourselves into becoming men and 'omen for others in the service of our
fello' Christians( )o s!read the faith, to u!hold the ideals of a true Catholic life is
'hat 'e see& to do, rooted in the values and attitudes of love, truth, *ustice,
humility, and service( WE, hereby ordain and establish this constitution(
ARTICLE I : THE NAME
)he organi+ation 'ill be &no'n as the Ateneo Catechetical Instruction
League.
Ateneo , )he members are bonafide students of Xavier University #igh -chool
and formed by the "esuit Education, to become Men and Women for Others.
Catechetical Instruction , ACIL.s motto, /)o form and be formed0( We teach
'hat 'e !reach, and learn in the !rocess(
League , We are a community, not *ust a club, geared to'ards the education of
the 1aith to others( A family that goes beyond human limitations(
ARTICLE II : THE NATURE
ACIL is a religious, educational, socio2economic, non2!olitical, non2!rofit
organi+ation under the umbrella of the 3-A-I (4eligious Cluster)(
ARTICLE III : THE ADDRESS

Section 1.1 , )he ACIL see&s to develo! in each member a genuine love for
his9her Catholic faith and 'ith +eal to share this directly to the students, and
indirectly to those he9she come contact 'ith by his9her Christian attitudes and
e:em!lary life(
Section 1.# , ACIL see&s to initiate its member into becoming men and 'omen
for others res!ecting and a!!reciating the dignity of a human !erson(
Section 1.$ , ACIL see&s to train its member into becoming a Church instrument
by !roviding the information necessary to u!hold and to live the Catholic 1aith as
a necessary means in the Christian rene'al of society(

model(

the !rerogative of the ACIL Core rou! to acce!t former ACIL members from the
=ear levels(

the beginning of the school year and submit before the given deadline(
-ection >(@ , -tudents 'ho 'ish to be an official member 'ill undergo as!irancy
for a year and attend the In2-ervice )raining -eminar (I)-)( )o be scheduled
'ithin the year(
-ection >(> , -tudents 'ho 'ish to be rene'ed as member of the ACIL must
have attended not less than si: meetings during the 'hole year of Catechism
sessions(
-ection >(A , 4ene'al of membershi! for old ACIL members must be
accom!lished at the beginning of each year(
ARTICLE : BILL "# RI!HTS
Section 1 )he catechist (official member of the ACIL) is entitled to e:!ress
his9her ideals, o!inions and suggestions on matters regarding the organi+ation(
Section # , )he catechist has the right to ma&e use of ACIL facilities and
materials sub*ect to the regulations of ACIL(
-ection > , )he catechist has the right to be informed clearly and effectively
about matters concerning the !olicies and regulations, 'hich directly affect
him9her(
Section % , )he catechist has the right to be informed of the functions and
!ur!ose and com!osition of e:isting Core rou! officers and committees(
Section & , )he catechist has the right and res!onsibility to &no' the
resolutions, decisions, activities, and the acts of the officers(
Section ) )he catechist has the right and res!onsibility to bring u! the matters
concerning the effectiveness and com!etence of any officer, in !rovided forum(
Section * , )he catechist has the right to !artici!ate in the ACIL Electoral
!rocess(
Section + , An ACIL member has the right to run for an elective !osition in the
ACIL(
Section , , )he catechist has the right to be advised regarding the changes that
may *eo!ardi+e and im!eril the members of ACIL(
Section 1- , )he catechist has the right to !rotection against im!ro!er
disclosure of delicate information concerning him9her(
Section 11 , )he catechist is entitled to effective re!resentation and substantial
!artici!ation in ACIL Core rou! activities(
Section 1# , )he catechist has the right and res!onsibility to su!!ort and
!artici!ate in every ACIL activity, es!ecially in Catechism sessions(
ARTICLE I : DUTIES AND RESP"NSIBILITIES
Section 1 , Every ACIL member shall !erform the duties and res!onsiblites in
catechetical a!ostolate(
Section 1.1 , Catechist 'ith three absences in a!ostolate shall be
considered on !robation and 'ill be sub*ected to individual consultation( If his9her
absences 'ill e:ceed five, 'ithout any form of information to ACIL, he9she 'ill be
dro!!ed(
Section # , Every catechist shall attend and !artici!ate 'hole2heartedly in ACIL
and CELL activities(
Section $ Every catechist shall be at least one member of a committee(
Section % , Every catechist is res!onsible for the maintenance of the ACIL
3ffice and E;ui!ments(
Section & , Every catechist shall act as a guardian to fello' ACIL members(
Section ) , Every catechist must be able to have a consistent understanding of
the e:isting !rovisions, articles, and sections of the ACIL constitution(
ARTICLE II $ C"RE !R"UP
Section 1 , )he C34E grou! is the central unit of the ACIL 'hich is com!osed
of the elected officers namelyB 6resident, Cice26resident, -ecretary, )reasurer,
Auditor, and Cell Leaders( <umber of cells is determined by the C34E rou!

1ormulate the guiding !olicies and regulations of ACIL and inform
its members thereof(
Deliberate and decide on matters regarding ACIL and its members

ARTICLE III : ELECTI"N
Section 1 , Election of the ne' set of officers and committee heads shall be in
an assembly at the end of the -chool =ear(

)he highest number of votes 'ill be declared as ne'ly elected
officer for that !osition(
If the nominee ha!!ens to have the number of votes for more than
one !osition, then the nominee claims the higher !osition( 4e2
election 'ill then be conducted for the vacant !osition(
)here 'ill be a declaration !a!er to be signed by the ne'ly elected
officers and to be 'itnessed by the ELEC3% %embers,
countersigned by the Chairman(
ARTICLE I%: IMPEACHMENT
Section 1 , Any member of the ACIL Council may be im!eached on the
follo'ing grounds5
Any 'illful and gross violation of this constitution and its by2la'sB
ross neglect of duty
%alversation of fundsB
Any other action that may be inimical to the organi+ation(
Section # )he res!ondent shall be notified of the im!eachment hearing( #e
shall be afforded an o!!ortunity to be heard in the im!eachment !roceedings(
Section $ , A three2fourths vote of the total membershi! of the ACIL Council,
e:cluding the Chairman shall be sufficient for its members(
ARTICLE % : AMENDMENTS
Section 1 , Amendments to this constitution may be affected in any of the
follo'ing 'ays5
Amendments to this constitution can be !ro!osed by ?8E of the
total members of the organi+ation
A duly formed constitutional convention may !ro!ose amendments
to this constitution(
Section # , After such !ro!osed amendments have been affirmed by a three2
fourths ma*ority of the council e:cluding the Chairman, such shall be ratified by at
least t'o2thirds ma*ority of the official members (e:cluding the !robationaries) of
the ACIL in a !lebiscite called for such !ur!oses(
ARTICLE %I : ENABLIN! PR"ISI"NS
Section 1 , )he constitution shall become effective u!on ratification in a
!lebiscite of at least t'o2thirds (@9>) ma*ority of the membershi! of the ACIL(
Section # , U!on ratification, this constitution shall su!ersede any !revious
constitution of the ACIL(
