Technical specifications:
- Frequency band: 87.5 (86) -108MHz FM BAND, 50KHz steps
- Stereo mode with excellent stereo separation
- Stereo 3.5 phono socket audio input, jumper cable included
- RDS functionality with optional RDS daughter board
- On-board DC/DC converter for noise-free audio
- Frequency, mode and RF output power adjustment with a click of a mouse
(Windows) or with LCD module
- RF output power: >2500mW (2.5W), depending on the model
NOTE: You need external 12-15V stabilized power supply to obtain full
output power. All versions starting with 1000mW and up require a good
antenna in order to prevent damage to output stage. Consider one of the
better antennas from our website or any of the ones listed under accesories
(do check those out).

Difference between models of PCI MAX 2007+:

The only difference between different models is output power. Cards
typically output up to and over 2000mW. Operation at highest power level
requires a case fan blowing onto the output transistor heatsink (from the
side). Failure to use such a fan prevents the unit to reach full power as the
temp. protection starts to reduce the power. Such a fan is recommended for
all versions starting at 1000mW and going up.

A number of accesories is available for these cards, making it

possible to:
- run RDS (Radio Data System)
- a selection of various antennas for best range
- amplifiers to increase your range
- accesories for stand alone operation without the PC, cases, LCD displays,
power supplies
- Y audio adapters, F to BNC RF adapters and other small items

What is this RDS thing?

Check this page for more information. Basically it displays station name and
sometimes song name (if supported by transmitter) and similar information
on a compatible radio receiver. Very popular in Europe, less so in the US. To
enable RDS functionality you need to purchase and install RDS daughter
board. It plugs into a socket on the PCI MAX 2007+ board.

What kind of antenna should I use?

A small convenient antenna is provided free of charge. This will work fine for
your flat or office and may even cover a small property. You can even use
this small antenna with any version of pci max, even the 2500mW, but only
if you use it without external power supply. This is due to the fact that
without external power supply card throtles down and is thus safe from
damage when operating with a small antenna.
To really crank up the power and range you need external power supply and
a decent antenna. Check under accesories for available types.

What is Y audio splitter?

PCI MAX comes with one phono 3.5 stereo socket, used for audio input. You
may want to split this audio input and send it as well to the speakers. There
is a good chance that this item will come handy so it makes sense to invest
those few euros/dollars.

What is BNC/F adapter?

Standard antenna output on the PCI MAX board is F female connector. You
may want to change this to BNC. Our F to BNC convertor does this in a
space efficient, cheap and elegant way without any unnecessary cabling.
May come handy.
