Thematic-updates on issues that locals can affect are provided regarding myriad concerns; the ongoing

challenge to counter BHO [what we know, let alone what can be surmised] persists, notwithstanding
Indications Of A Republican Landslide, for that is then, and this is now. Each topic-heading provokes
related discussion; highlighted-hyperlinks are of particular interest, for it seems that seminal data that
had been predictable [e.g., haaretz-admits-its-politicized-agenda] continue to become unearthed. Here,
two quotes are defining: It was the best of times, it was the worst of times [Charles Dickens opener
to A Tale of Two Cities] and That men do not learn very much from the lessons of history is the most
important of all the lessons that history has to teach [Aldous Huxley]. Thus, problems are festering, but
hope for a reversal growsas time ticks.... {Levity: 10-Year-Old Musical Prodigy Performed With Ricky
Skaggs At The Grand Ole Opry.}

Yesterday-a.m., I was able to speak for about a minute to Michael Smerconish on POTUS
[Sirius-XM] after he claimed the Rhodes-Memo contained nothing new. [He is book-
touring regarding his Slam against Talk Radio's, claiming it has had a 'Horrific Impact on
Polarization and Incivility.'] I started listing the categorization of impeachable-offences,
which he interrupted by claiming I was symptomatic of all that he was condemning,
namely, the constant recycling of right-wing talking-points; conveniently, he failed to
discount anything that I said, thereby reflecting the problems faced by BHO and Dems.

Here are the action-items [n.b., two others (Racism and Illegal Immigration) will be prioritized later]:

[1]Contact Senator Pileggi because, as Majority Leader, only he can release the bill
Mandating Holocaust Education in PA that (c/o Sen. John Rafferty) was amended
unanimously in the Appropriations Committee; considerable jockeying is occurring, but
the essence of what remains desirable is contained in a letter that was sent to every
legislator (c/o Ms. Rhonda Fink-Whitman), constituting a summary of the situation as of
yesterday. It is possible that at friendly amendment will emerge, meshing the positive
views of most everyone involved in this lobbying effort (which has mushroomed).

[2]Combat BHOs Ongoing Assault upon Classical American [Judeo-Christiian] Values
via Liberal Fascism by recognizing how insidious are the efforts of his minions.

[3]The Benghazi-Gate House-Investigation is causing the Dems to experience angst;
educational efforts must be maximized to impress upon the electorate how profoundly
BHO has abused-power [beyond any potential discretionary rationalization].

[4]The Scrambling to CYA regarding Nigeria has transcended the prior recitation of
Islamist Abuse in this one country; again, educational efforts must be maximized to help
people connect-the-dots, so that they will appreciate the profundity of the worldwide
war to create a Caliphate [for the Islamists havent stopped fighting the Crusades].

[5]The GOP-nod for POTUS-16 is being aggressively coveted by the Establishment as
a game of keep-away from True-Conservatives [TEA Party variety]; again, it is almost
comical to note how trials are being touted, but havent taken-hold [Christie, Bush] even
as the stalwarts [Cruz, Walker] consistently perform [by speech, by action].

[6]Israels Existential Threats Burgeon, although the immediacy of the diplomacy of
Kerry has abated; it is so-sad that Iran reacts to being ignored by enhancing bellicosity.

[0]The Lame-Stream Media

While grabbing-dinner @ Nazareth Hospital, ABC News Tonight, with Diane Sawyer led with five
stories [consuming the first 7+ minutes of the telecast] that appear to have been tangential to what
actually is transpiring [e.g., as noted herein and in prior blast e-mails]; covered in a surprisingly cursory
fashionin orderwere MERS, California needs rain, Magic Johnson responds to Sterling, driver hit a
store [no injuries], and Nigeria [American drones are being used, per stock-video.

Is there any wonder why CBS-News hasnt covered BHOs Scandal-Sheet, why CBS' 'The
Mentalist' Depicts Murderer of Women as Friend of George W. Bush; why a Major Dem
Donor was Tapped to Helm NPR; and why Ezra Klein's New Website Vox Will Tell You
What to Think About the News [noting that Ezra Visited the White House 27 Times this
year]? Know that iconic talker Sean Hannity withdrew comments he had initially made
to Politico for its puff-piece on Michael Savage, the polarizing host tapped by Cumulus
to replace Hannity on its affiliates; he became unhappy that Politico repeatedly tried to
manipulate Hannitys comments. The progressive-media claim to be tough-on-obama.

Instead of probing BHO, '60 MINUTES' targeted Congress, RE-AIRING the PETER SCHWEIZER 'SLUSH
FUND' EXPOS; this investigative report by award-winning CBS reporter Steve Kroft and Government
Accountability Institute (GAI) President and Breitbart News Senior Editor-at-Large Peter Schweizer
revealed how members of Congress exploit leadership PAC loopholes to bankroll lavish lifestyles for
themselves and their family members. A possible explanation: a survey showed that American
journalists are "miserable, liberal, over-educated, under-paid, middle-aged men."

Media-bias extends to local-sports; todays Metro bashes each entity [Phillies Ben
Revere not good enough to lead off and play centerfield, flyers-front-office-cant-stop-
telling-lies, and Carter-Williams made the most of a difficult situation when he won the
MVP despite the Sixers dismal season], but angelo-cataldi had no problem with chip-
kelly botching the Eagles-first-draft pick simply because the coach admitted-error.

The media also, regarding intramural GOP-concerns, favors the establishment; for example, retiring-
Congressman Mike Rogers, who will become a CUMULUS-RADIO HOST, expressed 'HEARTY CONTEMPT
FOR RIGHT-WING IDEOLOGUES'; in the process, Rogers Ripped Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh in NYT.

[1]Mandating Holocaust Education in PA

More than one-quarter of world's population is anti-Semitic [after ranking of countries and territories,
from the least anti-Semitic (Laos) to the most (the West Bank and Gaza)]. This is particularly problematic
in Europe, where Russia Can't Decide if Ukrainian Jews Are Victims or Villains [as the Odessa community
lays low while violence engulfs oasis], Tens of thousands of Hungarians joined a protest march against
anti-Semitism [three weeks after the far-right Jobbik party won nearly a quarter of votes cast in a
national election], and Berlusconi took a hit for Nazi concentration camp [noting that public denial of
the Holocaust is a criminal offence in Germany]. This may explain why there has been a Sharp Rise in
French Jews Leaving for Israel, for they sense they are amid a 'climate of anti-Semitism.' {Aggregating
concern with Common Core and input from those who would not wish to see curriculum-writing
hijacked by Islamists, note the need for ongoing vigilance, to ensure legislative-intent is implemented:
California School District Cancelled Lesson on Holocaust Denial."}

Before summarizing whats happening in this regard in Pa, note that everything appears
politicized; for example, AG-Kane invalidated Pennsylvanias firearm reciprocity with
Utah for no definable reason, other than to enhance bureaucratic requirements. Also,
an education-related claim [Corbett cut $1.5 billion from schools since 2008,mostly in
poor districts; over the same period, wealthy race-horse owners received $1.5 billion in
tax subsidies] was disproven [Both city school districts have seen an increase in basic
education funding from the state since Corbett took office; the cuts the American
Federation of Teachers blames on Gov. Corbett were actually a decrease in federal
funding when President Barack Obamas 2009 stimulus spending came to an end].

In any case, recognizing the fact that Holocaust Education varies from state-to-state [Jewish Exponent,
April 25, 2014], the readers should know that there is tremendous flux regarding the desire to achieve a
mandate within a month; more will become clear after Memorial Day. {Alas, Dems vying for the chance
to challenge incumbent Gov. Tom Corbett provided policies that are predictably almost-identical, for the
question posed [perhaps purposefully] was not formatted as an either/or [mandate vs. funding].}
Anyway, to buoy ones spirits when pondering why a no-brainer initiative would be protracted, recall
Mark Twain, who had a great deal of respect for the Jewish People; in Harper's Magazine, writing of
The Jew in his unique style: "He has made a marvelous fight in this world, in all the ages, and had
done it with his hands tied behind him. All things are mortal but the Jew; all other forces pass but he
remains." {Just to ensure one doesnt lose ones bearings, compare/contrast the historical impact [and
present-day correlates] of the Shoah with MSNBCs Ed Schultz tweet claiming homosexuals, not Jews,
were the true victims of Hitlers holocaust; then, recalling his fall-from-grace, Keith Olbermann spun a
narrative that concluded the Head of Philadelphia Flyers Social Media Is World's Worst In Sports.

Noting that BB [and his staff] were/are tremendously helpful in this legislative effort,
apparently, he may be rewarded, per Roll Call: Less than one year ago, [former
Democratic Rep. Marjorie Margoliess] commanding lead in the polls, familiarity with
voters thanks to her one term in Congress in the early 1990s, and her ties to the Clinton
dynasty as Chelsea Clintons mother-in-law made her a seemingly untouchable foe. Yet
Democratic operatives say Margolies has run an astonishingly poor campaign in the 13th
District... That has shifted the focus from Margolies, 71, to state Rep. Brendan Boyle, 37.
They will vote on May 20 and will likely determine the next member of Congress from
the heavily Democratic district, which begins in the working-class segment of northeast
Philadelphia and fans out into the wealthy Montgomery County suburbs.

[2]BHOs Liberal Fascism

The laundry-list of anti-intellectual insults by libs on campus is burgeoning, suggesting that readers
meet-the-new-fascists-and-their-victims; also, a 32-Year BBC Veteran was Forced to Resign for Playing
1932 Version of 'The Sun Has Got His Hat On' That Uses 'N-Word.' In response to this effort to achieve
mind-control, The Daily Caller compiled a GINORMOUS List Grading College Commencement Speakers.
The flip-side of such overt suppression of freedom of speech is what prompted the washington-post to
state openly to obama: you-lie; and it was just revealed that, along with others in the white-house,
Tim Geithner claims Obama Told Me to Lie.

"America" The Movie: Trailer 3 will be released on 7/4/2014, and another Preview is
comprised of an interview with Truxillo; people are advised they can demand the movie
@ dinesh dsouza.com and, to superimpose levity, note how Barack Obama was
Interviewed by Dinesh D'Souza [Between Two America]. The movie-maker has noted
that The Problem Isn't Muslims, It's The Multiculturalists On Campus Who Defend Them,
and he explained why during his debate with Bill Ayers @ Dartmouth.

These anti-classical liberal attitudes and actions illustrate why it is simply impossible to trust even the
most innocent utterings from the media, even as they ignore BHOs scandals while continuing to report
on tangential concerns [vide supra]. Unreported, for example, is the fact that AG-Holder put forth an
agenda wanting almost $400 million in the next budget for common sense regulations like electronic
bracelets for legal gun owners; never-shown are Videos Debunking Myths About Gun Show Background
Checks, stories about Homeowners who Use an AR-15 to Shoot Home Invader Armed with Handgun;
and photos of a restaurant that prooves: gun-control-doesnt-work. {Lest one dare to forget the
attitudes of MSNBC/CNN, note CNNs expression of Worriment that Hillary Clinton May Have
Jeopardized her POTUS-16 Run with Gun Control Statements such as, "We have to rein in what has
become [an] almost article of faith, that anybody can have a gun anywhere, [at] any time."}

[3]The Benghazi-Gate House-Investigation

Already elucidated are the myriad problems with BHOs narrative in this regard; indeed, Congressman
Trey Gowdy (R-SC) turned the tables on the media and asked them questions about Benghazi. [The
silence was deafening.] As a result, Judge Jeanine Pirros Opening Statement on FNC concluded [as
have I] that the Benghazi Scandal constitutes the Biggest Cover-up Since Watergate; Brit Hume added
that the Geithner Revelations Make White Houses Benghazi Claim 'Inconceivable.'

The benghazi-investigation is already-tearing-apart-the-democratic-party, as the dems
have-become-benghazi-deniers, quoting Harry Reid [using both his and the Obama
regimes classic Marxist, class-warfare rhetoric, while slipping in another Koch Brothers
attack], Charlie Rangel [Americans Wont Lose Any Sleep Over Benghazi], and Michael
Bloomberg [defending Hillary, he wonders, 'What'd You Expect Her to Do in Benghazi?'
and calls criticizing Hillary "cheap politics." Perhaps taking-the-cake is the claim that U.S.
Ambassador Christopher Stevens wasnt murdered the night of the Benghazi attacks,
but died of smoke inhalation, according to Daily Beast columnist Eleanor Clift.
Ultimately, the political-query is Can Hillary Play the Victim on Benghazi? {Another
wrench-in-the-works is Karl Roves view that Hillary Clinton may have brain damage.}

As a result, Sen. Cruz [albeit blocked by Challenged Sen. Menendez] wants a bicameral, bipartisan
Benghazi Committee; after he Suggested Democrats 'Can't Handle the Truth,' he listed Ten Questions
That Remain Unanswered About Benghazi:

1. Why was the State Department unwilling to provide the requested level of security to
Benghazi in the summer of 2012?

2. Did President Obamas daily intelligence briefings in the run-up to September 11, 2012
support the assertion that there was no credible threat of a coordinated terrorist attack
on Benghazi during this time? And if so, why does the White House not declassify and
release the briefings, as President George Bush did his pre-September 11, 2001
briefings?

3. Why did we not anticipate the need to have military assets at the ready in the region on
the anniversary of September 11, of all days?

4. Did President Obama sleep the night of September 11, 2012? Did Secretary Clinton?
When was President Obama told about the murder of our ambassador?

5. If the secretary of defense thought there was no question this was a coordinated
terrorist attack, why did Ambassador Susan Rice, Secretary Clinton, and President
Obama all tell the American people that the cause was a spontaneous demonstration
about an internet video?

6. Why did former deputy CIA director Mike Morell edit the intelligence community talking
points to delete the references to Islamic extremists and al-Qaeda?

7. Why did the FBI release pictures of militants taken the day of the attack only eight
months after the fact? Why not immediately, as proved so effective after the Boston
bombing?

8. Why was Secretary Clinton not interviewed for the ARB report? And if all relevant
questions were answered in the ARB report, why did the State Departments own
inspector-general office open a probe into the methods of that very report?

9. Why have none of the terrorists who attacked in Benghazi been captured or killed?

10. What additional evidence that the White House engaged in a political campaign to
blame the Benghazi attack on the internet video is contained in the additional emails
requested by JudicialWatch but withheld by the White House on the grounds that it
would put a chill on internal deliberations?

[Justifiably added to this list would be a probe why dozens of CIA agents were in the Benghazi-Annex, for
it is alleged that they were involved in (illegal) Gun Running; CADDELL ON BENGHAZI: PRESS HAS FAILED
THE COUNTRY AND FACTS WILL PUT OBAMA IN DEEP TROUBLE.]

[4]Scrambling to CYA regarding Nigeria

Chuck Todd concluded that, in Hindsight, Clinton's Decision on Boko Haram Looks Awful; PETER KING
feels HILLARY incorrectly THOUGHT SHE COULD NEGOTIATE WITH BOKO HARAM; Josh Rogin found that
Hillary Yielded To Nigerian Gov Instead of CIA, FBI, DOJ, WH, and Some at State Dept on Boko Haram.
Rush LIMBAUGH opined HILLARY DIDN'T DECLARE BOKO HARAM A TERRORIST GROUP 'BECAUSE
THEY'RE BLACK'; amazingly, The Daily Beast claimed Boko Haram Terrorists Are Not 'Islamic.' In any case,
listen to a Boko Haram Survivor Tearfully Recount the Attack to a D.C. Counterterror Panel, and then
appreciate why Israel Sent a Counter-Terrorism Team to Help Rescue Girls Abducted by Boko Haram.

Although Im not wont to quote him, Bill Maher correctly claimed Islam Is The Problem;
he Battled Arianna Huffington over Islam, observing, " Liberals Too PC to Ever Condemn
It." He elaborated on these comments on Mohammed and Islam in CNNs Situation
Room with Wolf Blitzer. It is truly amazing to watch the MEDIA, now FINALLY KEEN TO
CONDEMN BOKO HARAM, FIVE YEARS LATE. {Bill Maher also Argued For Privacy, Free
Speech In Wake Of Donald Sterling Scandal.}

[5]The GOP-Nod for POTUS-16, etc.

My-guys have been out-in-force; Sen. Ted Cruz and Pastor Rafael Cruz were at Washingtons A Man Of
Prayer 2014 Luncheion; he delivered the Commencement Address at Stephen F. Austin State University
and he has Discussed the Obama Administration's Lawlessness with Federalist Society. Meanwhile,
Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker supposedly doesnt know how to make Republicans more appealing,
Santorum advocated for Minimum Wage Hike, Rand Paul denounced Voter ID and then reversed, Rubio
is now touted as the Establishments Best Bet, PENCE BLASTED FEDERALIZED COMMON CORE AND
TOUTED STATES AS THE 'CURE' [signaling policy-flip], and Gallup found Voter Enthusiasm plummeted.
{[(A satiric narrative regarding political prognostication by Stuart Rothenberg, a Dem, is hysterical.)]}

John Boehner said, My Friend Jeb Bush Would Make a 'Great President'; after Boehner
signaled support for Jeb Bush to run for president, BOEHNER REFUSED TO COMMIT TO
ANOTHER FULL TERM, claiming'I'M LIVING ON BORROWED TIME.'

Noting that lib-pundits such as HALPERIN now predict REPUBLICANS WILL TAKE THE SENATE, it is now
desirable to probe the refined-approach by those who are Fighting for the Future of Conservatism.
Establishment Republicans had been delighted by the victory of Thom Tillis, their favored candidate in
last weeks North Carolina primary; after expensive advertising campaigns by establishment bagmen like
the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and Karl Roves American Crossroads, mainstream conservatives believe
they have a candidate who can beat Democrat Kay Hagan to win a valuable Senate seat in November.
Yet, in reaction, Palin correctly advised the GOP Establishment to 'Knock Off the Gloating,' predicting
that, for Conservatives, Nebraska Race Is High-Risk, High-Reward. Thus, it must be concluded that the
Tea Party passed the test in Nebraska as conservative groups pushed a high-quality candidate [Sasse],
illustrating how it has become mainstreamed within the GOP. {This conclusion will be tested elsewhere,
such as in arizona, where a gubernatorial-candidate allegedly embellished her military & legal
experience.} Note these headlines [and note that Cruz-endorsed Ricketts won the gubernatorial-race]:

VICTORY IN WV CONGRESSIONAL PRIMARY - Alex Mooney won the Republican
nomination in the crowded primary for Senate candidate Shelley Moore Capito's open
House seat in West Virginia.

With 57 percent of precincts reporting, Mooney had received 33 percent of the votes,
when the Associated Press called the race. Mooney, a former Capitol Hill staffer who
also served in the Maryland state senate and as chairman for the Maryland Republican
Party before moving to West Virginia, had benefitted from outside spending from
Senate Conservatives Fund, Madison Project and Tea Party Express, among other
groups.

President Barack Obama lost West Virginia's 2
nd
District by a wide margin in both 2008
and 2012. But Democrats are hoping a top recruit, Nick Casey, former chairman of the
state's Democratic Party, will boost their chances of picking up the seat.

ObamaDontCare continues to haunt the Dems, even as Landrieu: I Would Vote For ObamaCare Again;
indeed, Major Insurance Companies Agree that ObamaCare Won't Reduce Premiums By $2500 Like
Obama Promised; A Majority of Likely Voters Oppose ObamaCare's HHS Mandate [because they feel the
federal government wants to control contraceptive choices, unjustifiably]; virginia-first-to-release-post-

Soaring Up to 16.6%]; Obamacare Sparked 2015 Double-Digit Premium Hikes [not the $2500 drop BHO
had disingenuously predicted]; and Obamacare Customers are in for Deductible Sticker Shock. A probing
essay reminiscent of my [in-press] letter-to-the-editor of the Annals of Internal Medicine, published in
the federalist probes c-s-lewis-and-the-science-of-obamacare, noting that politicians constantly invoke
the authority of science, research, and experts of every stripe in the service of government schemes to
impose some necessary good.

Consulting a super-fantastic website [http://foxnewsinsider.com/tag/chris-stirewalt] will
preclude the need for key-concepts to be recapitulated; just note recent headlines [e.g.,
glenn-beck-slams-common-core-oreilly-factor] and recognize that they often are
uniquely pursued @ this venue [FNC]. The problem, however, is that the erudition of
the column written by Chris Stirewalt cannot be hyperlinked and, in recognition of what
just occurred in Nebraska, his pre-election comments are provided in-toto:

PRIMARY GUIDE: GOP CIVIL WAR OR QUALITY CONTROL?
Dont believe the hype. The Nebraska Senate primary today is being cast as another
installment in the battle between the Republican Senate leadership and the tea-party
coalition trying to brush back Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell. And thats
truebut only up to a point. Insurgent candidate Ben Sasse, a former Bush
administration health policy wonk who helped turn around a struggling Nebraska
college after leaving Washington, headed into todays voting with what scanty polling
suggests is the lead and the momentum. Those who plunder the corpses left by
Republican civil wars for fun and profit are already casting Sasses potential victory as
revenge for an establishment candidates victory last week in North Carolina. But Sasse
has been quite good at running for Senate. His tea-party backed counterpart in North
Carolina, however, was not. Much the same can be said of conservative crusaders in
Mississippi, Georgia, Kansas and certainly in McConnells own Kentucky. Conversely,
base-buoying candidates are doing just fine in places like Oklahoma, Iowa and Michigan.

Chickens counted, not hatched - So who cares which very conservative candidate wins a
Nebraska primary in which fewer than 200,000 votes may be cast? The seat is safely
Republican and either Sasse or the frontrunner he supplanted, former state Treasurer
Shane Osborn, would have a nearly identical voting record in the Senate. The only ones
who really care are those who are already counting votes for leadership posts in an
imagined Republican majority next year. McConnell is all but certain to retain his
position atop the heap if he survives a stiff Democratic challenge this fall, but when it
comes to other posts in the leadership team and, more importantly, deciding which
strategies the party would pursue, loyalties count. Sasse, supported by Sen. Ted Cruz, R-
Texas, and Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, would not go along to get along. Osborn, who has
paid his dues in the party and is backed by McConnell loyalists, would likely be a reliable
vote for Team Mitch. This jockeying for future Senate scrimmages has no doubt made
the race uglier and far more expensive than necessary, but hey, politics is a tough
business. Sometimes you husk, sometimes you get husked.

Discerning - All this effort for drafting fantasy teams for the 114
th
Congress is fine for the
political junkie set and for those looking to lobby or otherwise pull the strings of the
Senate. But what about the decent people? What seems to be happening is that
Republicans are embracing the old William F. Buckley rule of backing the most
conservative candidate who can win. The long-running feud between McConnell and
his foe, former South Carolina Sen. Jim DeMint, who now leads the Heritage
Foundation, is great for Beltway smack-talkers but not of much consequence to regular
folks. The mistakes Republicans made in 2010 and 2012 related to placing these kinds of
allegiances ahead of practical considerations, like, you know, actually getting into the
Senate. Some establishmentarians will win this year, some may lose. The same goes for
the outsiders. But in the end, these races will all come down to Republican voters taking
the measure of their options. Sasse has run well and made few mistakes. Osborns
campaign faltered on a couple of occasions. Voters may have concluded that Sasse is the
steadier choice. Making overbroad interpretations about national trends from that
would be dangerous. But one thing is showing through so far this year: Republican
voters are showing a degree of discernment we didnt see from them in the previous
two cycles.

Campaign Carl wants to know if all the outside money and negative attacks in
Nebraskas Republican U.S. Senate primary could backfire on the two frontrunners,
Midland University President Ben Sasse, with support from tea party groups and outside
super PACs had inched into a slight lead in the polls over former state treasurer and
establishment favorite Shane Osborn. But heading into the final stretch, three national
super PACs backing Sasse unleashed attacks on a third candidate, banker Sid Dinsdale,
who ran no attack ads in his campaign and won the endorsement of the states largest
newspaper all of which suggests Dinsdale is worth very much watching tonight, too.

WEST VIRGINIA GOP UNITES BEHIND CAPITO
In West Virginia, seven-term Rep. Shelley Moore Capito is expected to easily win the
Republican primary. On the Democrat side, Secretary of State Natalie Tennant is bound
to secure her partys nomination. Capito is widely favored to win the seat currently held
by Sen. Jay Rockefeller, D-W.Va., with even Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., praising
Capitos candidacy. When Democrats recruited Tennant, the party had hoped
Republican infighting and resistance to moderate Capitos nomination would present an
opportunity. But, West Virginia will almost certainly move deeper into the loss column
for the blue team after tonight. Fine, but what about the states House races? There are
trends to be seen.

Rahall has rough ride ahead - Rep. Nick Joe Rahall, D-W.Va., faces a tough battle to
keep the seat he has held since 1977. Already considered one of the most vulnerable
incumbents, Rahall has drawn a testy primary challenge from retired Army Maj. Richard
Ojeda. While Rahall should cruise to victory, a strong showing even in defeat by the
underfunded Ojeda would be a key indicator that Rahall is toast. That would lead
national Democrats to write off Rahall, who is expected to face his toughest general-
election fight yet with state Sen. Evan Jenkins, a Democrat-turned-Republican. The
National Republican Congressional Committee named Jenkins to its Young Guns list
and the scant polling indicates Rahall will be start the general election cycle well behind
his challenger. Sixty-five percent of voters in the district backed Mitt Romney in 2012.

Two steps forward, one step back for GOP? - The test of how red West Virginia has
become will be in the 2
nd
Congressional District, represented by Capito since 2001.
Democrats have drawn a strong contender in former state party Chairman Nick Casey,
but Republicans have been in an expensive, unpleasant four-way fight for the
nomination. (Read the Charleston Daily Mails take here.) A Democratic win in the fall
would encourage the national party to keep West Virginia on its map for the future.

AH, OBAMACARE: WE HAVE TO BREAK PEOPLE AWAY FROM THE CHOICE HABIT
NYT has the story of how ObamaCare is resulting in fewer choices for American health-
care consumers. As insurance costs go up, choices for care go down. But, according to
the Times and the companies selling limited-option plans as part of the law, maybe
thats a good thing. Instead of people getting all mixed up deciding how highly to
prioritize cost or coverage, the government just tells companies what to sell and then
people dont have to choose. This rationale results in the following quote from a
purveyor of narrow plans: We have to break people away from the choice habit that
everyone has, said Marcus Merz, the chief executive of PreferredOne, an insurer in
Golden Valley, Minn., that is owned by two health systems and a physician group.
Were all trying to break away from this fixation on open access and broad networks.

Poll: broad opposition to birth-control mandate - Daily Caller: A majority of Americans
including a majority of women, independents, and young voters oppose the
contraception mandate created by Obamacare, according to a new poll set to be
released Tuesday by the Family Research Council. Fifty-three percent of likely U.S.
voters oppose forcing employers to provide plans that [provide] various birth control
methods, according to the poll, conducted earlier this month. Forty-three percent
support doing so Despite being a bargain for women, fifty percent of women oppose
the mandate while only 45 percent support it, according to the poll, conducted by WPA

[Byron York: Millions of Americans have now had an opportunity to experience
Obamacare, and if the polls are correct, more of them have had negative experiences
than positiveDemocrats, in their euphoria over the 8 million sign-ups to Obamacare,
made a mistake in concluding that signups equal approval. In truth, a significant number
of those signing up for health coverage on the exchanges might be unhappy about losing
coverage elsewhere, or unhappy about the (unsubsidized) price they are paying, or
dissatisfied with the choices available under their new coverage.]

Cant call it a win bonus - Daily Caller: The CEO of Colorados Obamacare exchange
was given a $14,000 bonus and a 2.5 percent cost of living raise on Monday, even as the
exchange struggles for ways to pay its bills in the coming years. Patty Fontneau is now
the third-highest paid director of a state-run Obamacare exchange, earning more than
$195,300, according to Health News Colorado. She raised hackles after her request for
the raise and bonus came to light in October, when the exchange was performing
miserably and not hitting even its worst-case scenario goals for enrollment.

BAIER TRACKS: OBAMA CANT RIDE OUT VETS SCANDAL
While Republicans have set their sights on getting to the bottom of the Benghazi and
the IRS controversies, another scandal has been brewing that threatens to overtake the
administration sooner as in right now. Americans have been horrified to hear
allegations of fraud, faked documents, shoddy healthcare and deadly delays at Veterans
Affairs hospitals. It is unimaginable to most that those who have served our country
could be treated so poorly by the government that owes them so much. What started in
Arizona has now spread to other facilities around the country. And they just keep
coming. Last night, the agency revealed new reports about potential wrongdoing at a
North Carolina veterans hospital. If the scandal continues to snowball, two things will
likely happen: 1) President Obama will be forced to address the subject in greater
detail. 2) Secretary Eric Shinseki will have to step down. This doesnt feel like an
instance where the administration can do what it has attempted in other scandals and
ride it out or try to convince reporters it has already dealt with. But, in Washington,
anything can happen. Bret Baier.

Report: vets cancer tests delayed, denied - Patients of a southeast Texas Department
of Veterans Affairs facility had life-saving cancer tests delayed or denied as a cost-
cutting measure, a whistleblower told the Washington Examiner. Dr. Richard Krugman,
former associate chief of staff at the Veterans Affairs health care system based in
Harlingen, Texas, said his boss implemented a policy in 2010 that colonoscopies would
only be approved if the patient tested positive in three successive screenings for bloody
stools. By the time that you do the colonoscopies on these patients, you went from a
stage 1 to a stage 4 [colorectal cancer], which is basically inoperable, said Krugman,
That was done because of dollars and cents.

Drone memo author faces more hurdles for judgeship - The nomination of David
Barron to the First Circuit Court of Appeals is one of the most controversial by the
Obama Administration, with sparks expected to fly this week. Barron, a former Harvard
law professor and former acting assistant attorney general, is the author of the Justice
Department Drone memos which provide the legal basis for the targeted killing of
American citizens. Watch Fox: Chief Intelligence Correspondent Catherine Herridge
examines the growing opposition from both sides to Barron and what it means for the
future of the administrations drone policy.

JEB REVS UP ON IMMIGRATION, MIDDLE CLASS
Tampa Bay Tribune: [Former Gov. Jeb Bush, R-Fla.] gave an impassioned speech before
New Yorks top political donors, casting immigration reform as a way to grow the
economy, warning of a declining American Dream and pressing back on Common Core
critics. We cannot go back and dumb down our standards, Bush said at a Manhattan
Institute dinner The American Dream is slowly being replaced by something
economists call stickiness at the ends. Those born wealthy will stay there and in many
cases, those who are poor will do the same. Those in the middle -- the group who has
defined who we are as a nation for two centuries -- are shrinking and they are feeling
the squeeze. Today for the first time over the longest period of time, a majority of
Americans believe their children will have less opportunity than what they had. If our
people are not rising, our nation will not rise. But Bush said taking more from the
successful and doling out the proceeds to the less successful will not work. He called
for lower taxes, better education and supporting families, in a traditional way, in order
to prevent childhood poverty. Immigration reform was a recurring theme of the night,
with several speakers calling for action, including mega-donor Paul Singer For the life
of me I have a hard time understanding why people are fearful of our own heritage, our
own history The rules are you come to this country, you pursue your dreams, you
create value for yourself and your families and others and great things happens to you
and to our country. Why would we ignore that at time when we need to restart and
rejuvenate our economy? It makes no sense to me, [Bush said][Former New York City
Mayor] Rudy Giuliani, who introduced Bush, said the former Florida governor was
elected with 61 percent of the Hispanic vote. Wow, Giuliani said. It just could be that
our party could win an emerging group and get a big vote and change the nature of
politics. Oh well, I hope we can. Theres a lot of speculation that he may run for
president, Giuliani said. Hes got a very, very high problem to overcome: Hes got a
record of success.

Boehner gives a nudge - Washington Examiner: House Speaker John Boehner said he is
nudging former Florida [Republican] Gov. Jeb Bush to run for president and he wants
to take up immigration reform legislation in small pieces, starting first with border
security. Boehner made the remarks at the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce during a
question-and-answer session with the editor of Texas Monthly. Boehner, when asked
whether the House would take up immigration reform this year, said it would depend
on whether he can bring my members along, and he acknowledged that one group of
GOP lawmakers has no interest in taking up the issue during an election year. There are
some members of my party that just do not want to deal with this," Boehner said. Its
no secret. But I do believe the vast majority of members of our party do want to deal
with this, and they want to deal with this honestly, openly and fairlyHe said it was
way too early to pick a top GOP presidential candidate. Weve got a lot of good
candidates out there, and yes, Jeb Bush is my friend, I think hed make a great president.
And Ive been nudging him for some time.

FIRST IN FOX NEWS FIRST - COTTONS CAMP REBUTS NBC NEWS POLL
Rep. Tom Cottons campaign is hitting back against an NBC News/Marist College poll
that shows the Arkansas Republican trailing Sen. Mark Pryor, D-Ark., by 11 points. A poll
conducted for the campaign by GOP firm onMessage and provided to Fox News Fist
shows Cotton leading 42 percent to 40 percent. Among independents, Cotton leads 36
percent to 33 percent. Another 23 percent of independents are undecided, good news
for a challenger in a race with a longtime incumbent. Cottons camp argues that the NBC
News/Marist poll is unreliable, pointing out that it is not screened for likely voters and
that its sample includes just 23 percent registered Republicans in a state that has grown
increasingly red in recent elections.

DEMS GROW UNEASY ABOUT STEYERS CLOUT
The Atlantics Clare Foran explains why the growing influence of environmentalist and
billionaire Democratic bundler Tom Steyer is scaring some Democrats: Steyer, a hedge-
fund-manager-turned-green-evangelist, says he plans to raise up to $100 million during
the midterm elections for candidates who stand strong on climate change. But as he
doles out big checks to Democrats, Steyer has also stepped into the spotlightand that
is making some in the party nervous Steyers persona, the skeptics feel, opens
Democrats up to charges of hypocrisy, and leaves too much of the party's profile in the
hands of a man who has been popularly elected to exactly nothing Others fear that
Steyer, a wealthy environmentalist living in Northern California, plays into a decades-
long GOP effort to paint Democrats as out of touch with working class America. Intent
on making those charges stick, the Republican National Committee rolled out a series of
attacks last week describing the mega donor as a wealthy elite bankrolling the liberal
agenda.

DEMS LOOK TO SPEND BIG TO SAVE BEGICH SEAT
Politico: The independent expenditure arm of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign
Committee has begun booking airtime in Alaska, laying down extensive TV reservations
in one of the states expected to determine control of the Senate. Democratic and
Republican media-tracking sources said Monday that the DSCC has booked time running
from Sept. 23 through Election Day. The full size of the buy is about $3.5 million,
according to one source. Democratic Sen. Mark Begichs reelection campaign in Alaska
is expected to be one of the hardest-fought Senate races in the country this year. He will
face one of three Republican challengers: former state Attorney General Dan Sullivan,
the favored candidate of D.C. Republicans; Lt. Gov. Mead Treadwell; or conservative
activist Joe Miller, the partys unsuccessful 2010 Senate nominee. The primary is set for
Aug. 19.

Sullivan celebrates service in new ad - Roll Call: Alaska Republican Dan Sullivan
released his latest TV ad on Monday, a 30-second spot highlighting his military service
and pushing the message that the state needs a fighter again. The 30-second spot,
running on broadcast stations, never mentions Democratic Sen. Mark Begich. But the
incumbents photo is briefly plastered on screen alongside President Barack Obama. As
a Marine, I learned that talk is cheap and results are what matter. But thats not how
they operate in Washington, Sullivan says as the two Democrats photos appear.

GRAHAM DRILLS DEEP FOR VOTES IN NEW AD
The Hill: Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) is touting his energy chops in statewide TV and
radio ads released Monday. The ads, boasting Grahams push for the Keystone XL
pipeline and drilling, come with less than one month left before Graham faces off with
six Tea Party-affiliated Republican candidates in South Carolinas primary election. In
the 30-second video ad, Pipeline, former U.S. Ambassador David Wilkins praises
Graham for being the first U.S. senator to visit the oil sands in Canada. Every drop of oil
we get from Canada is one less drop we have to get from countries in the Middle East,
countries that dont like us. Lindsey Graham understood that before most people
understood it, Wilkins, a former South Carolina state House Speaker, says in the TV ad.
The 60-second radio ad, also released on Monday, opens to the sound of gunfire in a
war zone as the narrator asserts that terrorism is on the rebound. The voice goes on to
state that despite the increase in terrorism, the U.S. continues to import nearly $400
billion a year in foreign oil.

[One of Grahams Senate challengers, Richard Cash, is currently running an ad touting
his 10 arrests for protesting abortion.]

SHAHEEN TOUTS SMALL BIZZ SUPPORT IN NEW AD
The Hill: Sen. Jeanne Shaheens (D-N.H.) new campaign ad features a small-business
owner touting the senators work for companies like hers in New Hampshire. In the ad,
Adria Bagshaw, the vice president of a New Hampshire steel company, declares of the
senator: What really impresses me about Jeanne Shaheen is, if we bring a problem to
her she cares and shes going to listen. Bagshaw says Shaheen is working to help small
businesses export products, access credit and train high-skill workers. I think Jeanne
Shaheen really makes a difference for New Hampshire, Bagshaw concludes, as a shot of
Shaheen appearing with the plants workers appears on the screen. The ad will begin
airing Tuesday, as National Small Business Week launches in cities across the nation.

[The latest Dartmouth College poll shows Republican Scott Brown leading Shaheen 39
percent to 36 percent.]

PICK SIX: MICHIGAN NOT A SAFE DEM SEAT?
The stakes are high for Democrats come November as they need to limit Republican
gains in the Senate to five or fewer in order to retain control of the upper chamber. If
the GOP can flip six seats from blue to red this year, the dynamics in Washington will
change in a big way. Fox News First wants to know which six Democratic-held seats are
most vulnerable. The current consensus among readers: Arkansas, Montana, Louisiana,
South Dakota, North Carolina and West Virginia. Reader Frank Hutton of Los Angeles,
Calif., would like to add Michigan to the list seeing a competitive race between Rep.
Gary Peters, D-Mich., and former Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land. Hutton writes,
This seat IS in play, let your readers in on what is happening there. Keep up the good
work!

Israels Existential Threats Burgeon

Impending is total collapse of BHOs quartet of major Middle East initiatives [Israel, Iran, Syria, Libya];
indeed, as has been amply documented, his entire paradigm is collapsing globally. After viewing israels
century in-a-flash, it will be easier to appreciate The Origin of the Occupation Myth, why Kerry was
disabused of the notion that Israels policies were 'Apartheid,' and why Hamas TV Tells Young Children
to Shoot All the Jews. Iran reacts to being ignored by enhancing bellicosity [thoroughly documented via
two sets of hyperlinks]. Kerry, with a sense of resignation, told Syrian Rebels, 'We Wasted Year' in Fight
Against Assad. Meanwhile, the BDS-Movement has evolved into attempting to ban college-trips-to-israel
because they are allegdly/inherently unethical if sponsored by any entity viewed as Zionist; indeed, the
Students for Justice in Palestine Said Neo-Nazis are Right about Jews. Finally, a normalization deal
between Israel-Turkey is reportedly Likely in Coming Days. {Note that newstalk-990 is sponsoring an
event Stand_With_Israel in Drexel Hill, PA] which may provide insights as to the immediate-future.}

This column is beyond a pay-wall [Bret Stephens: Iran Doesn't Want a Deal] and, thus, is
being reprinted in-toto; it captures the past/present/future succinctly, profoundly:

John Kerry began the year trying to bring representatives of the Assad regime together
with rebel leaders in Geneva to end the civil war in Syria.

It was bound to fail. It failed. Strike one.

Next, the secretary of state worked tirelessly to create a framework agreement between
Israelis and Palestinians, with a view to settling their differences once and for all.

It was bound to fail. It failed. Strike two.

This week, U.S. negotiators and their counterparts from the P5+1the five permanent
members of the Security Council, plus Germanywill meet in Vienna with Iranian
negotiators to work out the details of a final nuclear agreement.

You know where this is going.

There's been a buzz about these negotiations, with Western diplomats extolling the
unfussy way their Iranian counterparts have approached the talks. Positions are said to
be converging; technical solutions on subjects like the plutonium reactor in Arak are
being discussed. Last month Iranian Foreign Minister Mohamad Javad Zarif said there
was "50 to 60 percent agreement."

All this is supposed to bode well for a deal to be concluded by the July deadline. If the
Iranians are wise, they'll take whatever is on the table and give Mr. Kerry the diplomatic
win he so desperately wants. Time is on Tehran's side. It can sweeten the terms of the
agreement later onincluding the further lifting of sanctionsthrough the usual two-
step of provocation and negotiation.

The only thing Iran has to fear is an Israeli military strike. For that to happen, Jerusalem
needs (or believes it needs) conditions that are both militarily and diplomatically
permissive. By agreeing to a deal, the Iranians further restrict Israel's options without
permanently restricting their own.

But Iran is not wise. It is merely cunning. And fanatical. Also greedy, thanks to a long
history of being deceitful and obstreperous and still getting its way without having to
pay a serious price. So it will allow this round of negotiations to fail and bargain instead
for an extension of the current interim agreement. It will get the extension and then
play for time again. There will never be a final deal.

Why am I so confident? Listen to the man with the last word first: "They expect us to
limit our missile program while they constantly threaten Iran with military action,"
Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei said Sunday. "So this is a stupid, idiotic expectation. The
Revolutionary Guards should definitely carry out their program and not be satisfied with
the present level. They should mass produce."

Ballistic missiles are lousy weapons for anything except the rapid delivery of chemical or
nuclear warheads. (The 39 Iraqi Scuds that hit Israel in 1991 killed two people.) But
limiting the number and range of ballistic missiles is central to any agreement that aims
to prevent Iran from having a rapid nuclear-breakout capability. Mr. Khamenei's public
call to mass produce missiles is not exactly an indication of seriousness about a final
deal.

Also a sign of non-seriousness was last month's call by Ali Akbar Salehi, head of Iran's
Atomic Energy Organization, to add an additional 30,000 centrifuges to Iran's existing
19,000. "So far we have produced seven to eight tons of enriched uranium," he said. But
he wants Iran to produce 30 tons, ostensibly to fuel the civilian nuclear plant at Bushehr.
And that's 30 tons a year. A single ton of civilian-grade uranium suffices, with further
enrichment, for a single atomic bomb.

Still not getting the drift? "Iran will not retreat one step in the field of nuclear
technology," said one prominent Iranian over the weekend. "We have nothing to put on
the table and offer to them but transparency. That's it. Our nuclear technology is not up
for negotiation."

That's Iranian President Hasan Rouhani speaking. For good measure, he added that Iran
would go back to producing 20% enriched uraniumwhich is close to weapon-grade
"whenever necessary." And he's the moderate. Even the Obama administration cannot
accept a deal that allows Iran to expand its centrifuge capabilities or enrich uranium to
20%.

The hardening of Tehran's negotiating position is another reminder of the blunder the
administration made when it agreed to the interim deal and then turned on Congress to
prevent automatic sanctions in the event Iran failed to make a final deal. "Show that you
are strong, and you will see results"such was the advice Mr. Rouhani confidentially
offered an Israeli agent posing as a U.S. official in 1986 on how to deal with the
Ayatollah Khomeini. The advice is still sound.

In the meantime, the administration needs to think about what it will do when Mr. Kerry
strikes out. Is there a Plan B, other than the president's now trademark mix of hollow
threats and soliloquies on the limits of presidential power? I doubt it. Goethe wrote
that nothing is worse than aggressive stupidity, which is true. But pompous impotence
surely comes in second place, and this administration combines aspects of both.

The Israelis may sit still through all this. But Mr. Kerry shouldn't count on it.
