50-Year-Old Detroit Man Charged in Sexual Assault and Kidnapping

On Saturday, May 3, 2014 Anthony Rice, 50 (10/10/63) of Detroit, was charged with three counts
of Criminal Sexual Conduct First Degree, one count of Criminal Sexual Conduct Second Degree
and one count of Kidnapping. It is alleged that on April 30, 2014 at approximately 5:00 p.m., Rice
forced a 42-year-old woman he was acquainted with into his home in the 7200 block of Woodmont
at gunpoint, sexually assaulted her multiple times over several hours and chained her to a pole in
his basement. On morning of May 1, 2014, the defendant unchained the victim and allowed her to
dress. When the defendant fell asleep, the victim was able to leave the house. She ran to a store
and asked a worker to call 911 and the Detroit Police Department responded to the store on West
Warren.

He was arraigned in 36
th
District Court on May 4, 2014 and received a $75,000 cash/surety bond
and his preliminary examination has been scheduled for May 15, 2014 before J udge Michael
Wagner.

request that is being reviewed in this case. An update will be sent when there is a charging
decision.

District Court. He received a
$100,000 personal bond and will have his preliminary examination on May 16, 2014.

Lorenzo McNeil

l - Defendant charged in connection with the homicide of his ex-girlfriend
Charmanek J ohnson of Hazelwood in Detroit. The preliminary examination will be adjourned today
because there is a new defense attorney assigned to the case. When the new date has been
confirmed, the Wayne County Prosecutors Office will send out a release.

warrant request that is being reviewed in this case. An update will be sent when there is a
charging decision. A decision is not expected today.

Romulus Infant Death

- On April 28, 2014 a Romulus infant died. WCPO has not received a
warrant request for this matter.

Reneco Graus

Defendant convicted in connection with a fatal arson fire of an apartment in a 56-
unit building that occurred in Highland Park on May 16, 2010. Graus was sentenced by J udge Vera
Massey-J ones today as follows: one count of Second Degree Murder to 25-50 years: three counts
of Assault with Intent to do Great Bodily Harm to three-10 years and one count of Arson of a
Dwelling to seven to 20 years.

David Bshouty

- Windsor constable who was arrested at the international border crossing at
Ambassador Bridge, alleged to have suspected cocaine in his possession. The Preliminary
Examination was adjourned today until J une 10, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. to allow for additional forensic
testing of the suspected cocaine.
