Purpose :
This bulletine is being issued, to standardize the sizing and references of supply and return Grilles. The sizes
mentioned below are only for guidance.
This standardization will be implemented on all future projects.

Notes:
Generally SG2-A to SG2 - E will be used along with FCU -01 to FCU-05 respectively i.e. SG2 A will
be used, when FCU -01 is being used on the project. Similarly SG2 B will be used, when FCU -02 is
being used on the project. Hence the grilles sizes for grille references SG2 A to E will be standard
as per above mentioned table. A corresponding return air grille will be used along with supply air
grille.
If any additional grilles are required for that particular project, then these would referenced as SG2-F
onward.

The maximum recommended air flow is for guidance only. For each project the design mechanical
engineer must review the selection of size, based on location of diffuser and height of the false ceiling
etc.
The above recommendations are based on achieving noise level of NC 30 in the occupied space. If
specified noise levels are below NC 30, please check the Manufacturers ratings.
For special application, please review your selection with Senior Mechanical Engineer.
The supply air Grille SG2 - X will be specified with opposed blade dampers and return air diffusers will
be without any damper.
The selection of supply air grilles for ref. A to E is based on airflow of proposed Fan Coil Units. Hence
for every project, once the Fan Coil Units are selected, the Senior Mechanical Engineer must review
the selection of proposed supply air grilles.
The sizes mentioned above are only for guidance and can be re-selected based on project
requirement. Diffusers for any other air flows to be selected based on Manufacturers ratings.

Based on above, Schedule of Grilles & Diffuser will be prepared and this Schedule will always be on
Mechanical services Legend & Symbol Drawing.
The specifications will also refer to various references mentioned above. A change in specification will be
carried out by the Sr. Mechanical Engineer.
