Overview
he RFID Proximity OEM Reader Module is designed to work with 125 KHz
frequency with user selectable communication protocol. It has a built-in
antenna in minimized form factor.
This RFID reader provides TTL and Wigand Protocol for connection with the host
controller. The Unique Tag values are read and transmitted using the communication
protocol defined.
Features
Supply- 5 volts
TX-TTL output can be directly connected to Microcontroller
D0 & D1 - is used for Wigand protocol
This RFID Reader is read-only type.
All communication interfaces are TTL compatible. User can either
use a TTL-RS232 converter or our RFID Adapter plug for
connecting to serial port of PC.
Module Snapshot
Following figure contains the Snapshot of the RFID Reader along
with TTL-RS232 Adapter board.
Connection Details
How to connect with a PC
The following diagram shows the interface between the RFID
Reader and PC. Users may require USB to Serial converter if serial
port is absent.

How to connect with a Microcontroller
The following diagram shows the interface between the RFID
Reader and a host Microcontroller.
How toget data in PC
Connect the RFID module using the diagram shown in the
above section.
Open any terminal emulation software. Eg. Hyperterminal(Windows)/
Minicom(Linux)
Select the correct communication port in the Configuration window.
Use 9600 as baudrate, 8-bit, No parity, 1-Stopbit and Open the port.
How to get data in Microcontroller
Connect the RFID module using the diagram shown in the
above section.
Configure the host microcontroller for receiving data in 9600 baud and 8-N-1
configuration.

The TTL output can be directly interfaced with 5V running
microcontroller. For interfacing with lower level requires either
suitable level translator or simple potential divider can do the
job.
More tools you may require
1. Users may use our ATMEGA16/32 or PIC16Fxx series
boards for direct interfacing.
2. Users may use our TTL-RS232 converter board for
connection with PC
3. Users may use our USB-Serial converter used to
connect with Laptops and PCs without serial ports.
