The Snow Goddess is a poem inspired by this QT Luong black and white photograph at the site

The Snow Goddess

Yet way atop the Alps on high
Flying high above the clouds Not effected by the solar flare
Where the air is rare Lies the icy heart of the snow goddess
Gazing down to the world below For anyone to conquer if they dare
Transfixed without a thought or care
She calls the knights to battle
Fluffy white clouds hang densely On the slopes of rock and snow
Like fairy floss clinging to a stick To see the stuff they’re made of
Careful not too breathe too deep And to challenge how far they’d go
or else the altitude could make you sick
So if you want to ride the clouds
The sky stretches calmly before me To heaven’s gate where she awaits
As it quietly arises from its sleep Do not battle her with sword or armour
As the winter wind whispers seductively Instead take her as your life long mate
As it caresses the rugged valleys deep
Her many defences will become useless
Even here in Mother Nature’s lair For love emancipates the ties that bind
They are driven to succeed Opens the expanses of expression and heart
To reach the highest of the high Then frees the boundaries of the mind
Which no one can ever impede
You’ll see her rock wall begin to crumble
I see the peaks of the mountain As the pathway is open for you to come on in
Pushing their way to the top From today you will never be alone anymore
Straining to catch the sun’s rays My darling take my hand now and let’s begin.
