System demonstration - Less than Container Load Scenario
Background
Operational

This demonstration is designed on a standard transportation
network used by Logistic Service Providers (LSP)
Demo flow depicts a scenario where 2 Forwarding Houses of a
Logistics Service Provider in different regions collaborate to
execute on an international transportation order Highlights:
Initial Booking Request with Ocean carrier
Receipt of Quotation for shipment
Multi-Modal Planning of forwarding order
Split of revenue between different payment parties
(shipper and consignee)
Event Management is used to Track & Trace the Booking Orders

Technical

Scenario is based on SAP Transportation Management 8.1
system as of March 15
th
, 2012
Involved architecture
SAP Transportation Management 8.1
SAP Event Management 7.0 (installed as TM client)
Adobe Technology for printing function

Calculate Charges on stage level
TM system is configured so that freight charges are calculated on stage-by-stage level
This is configurable and e.g. could also be for door-to-door services

Planning & Execution
FWO > Freight Unit created automatically upon Save (Basis for Planning)
A Freight Unit forms the basis for Transport Planning and can be flexibly defined
In this case the Freight Unit reflects the Products

Planning & Execution
Two Freight Orders (FO) are created for Pick Up (Stage 10) and Pre-Carriage (Stage 20)
System creates two Freight Orders that can be separately subcontracted to carriers

At the end of Planning and Settlement Document generation process we now summarize the status in the Forwarding Order
Predecessor Documents:
The original Forwarding Quotation
Successor Documents:
So far only Stages 10-30 have been planned (Two Freight Orders and one Freight Booking)
Only one Freight Settlement Document has been created for the Pick Up
Two Forwarding Settlement Documents have been generated for the two Payment Parties
