The Middle Ages stretched from roughly 500 A.D- 1500 A.D.

Some people say that during the

Middle Ages ,Europe experienced reformation. The Dark Ages are characterized by medival
,rural and barbaric.The western part of Europe changed after the fall of the Roman Empire
because St benidict established the first monastery in 520. This caused the church to have
more power over people. I think the Middle Ages were truly dark because millions of people
started to get sick and die , and many were poor and also because of how they had to live
In the middle Ages,Historian Frantz Funck-Brenton made use of previously published texts to
describe Europe in the ninth and tenth centuries, at this time society no longer had a
government. The ramparts were broken through and there were many invasions that had
spread to the successive waves over the south. Towns and villages were sacked and laid waste
field by the Hungarians. Basically the conditions in Europe during this time ,were bad they were
sacked, invaded and things started to get worse. The people had gone to cower in the depths of
the forests or in inaccesible regions, or had taken refuge in the high mountains. I think that
during this time was bad because , people had to leave where they lived before because they
were sacked and destroyed by hungarians and had to move to mountain or forests to take
refuge.
The plague in Siena, an italian chronicle ,Agnolo Di Tura, 1348, the plague caused social
upheaval because so many people died and everyone started to believe it was the end of the
world. So many things was brought to this, such as hundreds of people died night and day and
were thrown into ditches. parents had to start burying their own children with their bare hands.
Once a ditch was full , they would then have to dig another ditch to put more bodies in to go
into. The dogs would devour the human bodies that had been coming to earth. At this point
everyone had awaited their death to come.

by an accident and a chance , even during its worst time But mostly it was very creative and
inventive also it was transferred to later ages great riches of its own. The age once traditionally
described as dark had remarkable and exuberance.
In conclusion, i believe that the middle ages were truly dark ,because of all the things that had
started to happen out of the blue. Such as millions of people dying and not knowing why their
dying and all the villages that were destroyed. Therefore all of this evidence made me come to
think that the Dark Ages were truly dark.
