SYLLABUS in PSYCHO-SOCIAL SKILLS DEVELOPMENT
COURSE TITLE: Psycho-Social Skills Development DESCRIPTION: This course is designed to equip incoming college freshmen (particularly the DOST scholars) with the knowledge and skills they needed to triumph in college. Further, it orients them of the nature of college life with the goal of easier and better adjustment. Discussions on career planning, goal setting and decision making skills, people skills and study skills aim to improve students self-confidence and increase their motivation to achieve which consequently are expected to have a positive redound on their academic performance. Students are made to reflect about themselves and hence, are given chance to arrive at a more realistic understanding and appreciation of themselves.
