How to Add and Delete ONT on the OLT Device

1 How to add an ONT on the OLT device


The Huawei ONT is connected to the GPON port of the OLT through optical fibers. The
service can be configured only after an ONT is successfully added on the Huawei OLT .
Two ONTs are connected to GPON port 0//. The ONT !"s are and #$ the %Ns are
&'((&'(()'*#+00 and &'((&'(()'*#+0$ the ,anage,ent ,ode is O-.!$ and ONT
line profile 0 and service profile 0 are bound to the two ONTs.
(1) Add an ONT offline.
!f the password or %N of an ONT is obtained$ you can run the ONT add co,,and to add
the ONT offline.

!f the ONT state fails$ the ONT fails to be in the up state$ or the ONT does not ,atch$
chec3 the ONT state by referring to the above2,entioned descriptions.
!f /ontrol flag is deactive$ run the ont activate co,,and in the GPON port ,ode to
activate the ONT.
!f the ONT fails to be in the up state$ that is$ 0!n state is offline$ the physical line ,ay
be bro3en or the optical transceiver ,ay be da,aged. =ou need to chec3 both the
,aterial and the line.
!f the ONT state fails$ that is$ /onfig state is failed$ the ONT capability set out,atches
the actual ONT capabilities /7or details about the ONT actual capabilities$ see 0eference
of 34ON ONT /apa+ilit* 1ets). !n this case$ run the displa* ont failed
config!ration co,,and in the diagnosis ,ode to chec3 the failed configuration ite, and
the failure cause. Then$ rectify the fault according to actual conditions.

!f an ONT supports only four <ueues$ the values of )>( of the priority2<ueue
para,eter in the ge) add co,,and are invalid. 4fter configuration recovers$ .onfig
state will be failed.
!f the ONT does not ,atch$ that is$ 2atch state is )is)atch$ the port types and nu,ber
of ports under,atch the actual port types and nu,ber of ports supported by the ONT. !n
this case$ run the displa* ont capa+ilit* co,,and to <uery the actual capability of the
ONT$ and then select one of the following ,odes to ,odify the ONT configuration6
.reate a proper ONT profile according to the actual capability of the ONT$ and then run
the ont )odif* co,,and to ,odify the configuration data of the ONT.
-odify the ONT profile according to the actual capability of the ONT and save the
,odification. Then$ the ONT auto,atically recovers the configuration successfully.

' How to delete an ONT on OLT Device
This co,,and is used to delete an ONT. The ONT configuration data is deleted with the
deletion of the ONT and the online ONT is forced offline. !f the ONT configuration such as
the bound capability set profile and the authentication ,ode is incorrect$ you can run this
co,,and to delete the ONT$ and then you can add it again.

gpon co,,and to enter GPON ,ode.
4n ONT cannot be deleted when it has been bound with a T2.ONT profile$ that is$
it has been configured with services. To delete it$ run the tcont +indprofile
co,,and to cancel its binding with the T2.ONT profile.
