Social Media Analysis: Current Usage and Audience
Engagement

Sodalicious is a customer-conscious business with a healthy social
media presence. The company has developed profiles on Facebook, Twitter
and Instagram. There is post continuity across all three platforms. Although
some platforms may have more engagement than others, engagement levels are
relatively the same across the board. As with everything, however, theres
room for improvement.

Facebook
SodaliciousUtah currently has 1,152 Facebook likes. The most popular
age group is 25--34 years old.
The company posts an average of four times a week to Facebook. Its posts
receive a minimal level of interaction (including likes and comments) from
at least six percent of page fans.
The majority of posts contain a photo. Photo posts typically have a
higher rate of engagement than text-only posts. Many posts focus on customers
and receive personal engagement from page fans.
Sodalicious does a good job of responding to fans and reciprocating
their interests. They often like fan comments and comment backwhether
it be responding to questions/concerns or simply agreeing.
To gain more likes and therefore wider reach, Sodalicious could try
interacting with other local businesses on Facebook in a mutually beneficial

Twitter
Twitter is perhaps Sodaliciouss weakest social media platform, at only
258 followers.
The company tweets an average of five to ten times a day, often posting
the same content posted to Facebook and Instagram. It occasionally retweets
followers and often retweets amusing messages posted by others (not
exclusively customers).
The business responds to customers through Twitterthere is a high
rate of response and engagment with Twitter followers despite the fact that
there really arent many. This level of interaction with customers is present
across all three platforms.
The business also responds to and interacts with other local businesses. This is
an effective tool in gaining businessthe businesses retweet each other and
keep a conversation going. In retweeting, they widen the net to both groups of
followersinforming more people and gaining more potential customers for
each other.
Sodalicious can gain a larger following on Twitter by increasing levels
of interaction with fellow downtown businesses. Provo has a unique business
atmosphere because of the many startups and the multitudes of college
students who enjoy being on the forefront of whats coolSodalicious has
already tapped into this market and can continue to do so by teaming up
with like-minded businesses. This would help increase the companys Twitter
following.

Instagram
Instagram is Sodalicious main interactive platform. Sodalicious has
1,706 Instagram followers. The company, however, follows 2,528 Instagram
users. It posts approximately five times a week.
The majority of Instagram posts are photos of customers; the grand
remainder of the posts centers on different promotions.
Engagement (likes and comments) with these posts is slightly higher
than Facebook post engagement number-wise, but the percentage is about the
same.
Sodalicious is very visual, and Instagram is the perfect platform for this. It
also helps to increase market penetration among the target demographic of
young people (18 to 35 year olds) as they make up the bulk of Instagram users.

A social media calendar for the time from April to June follows.
Within this social media calendar, Instagram posts are not always mentioned
due to the fact that the majority of them are likely to be spur-of-the-moment,
as customers come along. It would be redundant to write this down for every
day. We instead suggest a quota: maintain the level of Instagram posting at
least five times a week.
