The NFPA 96 Standard establishes minimum construction requirements
for the hood and duct in commercial kitchen ventilating systems. One of
the requirements states that all seams and joints shall be sealed by a
liquid-tight, continuous external weld or listed mechanical devices
providing a liquid-tight seal.

DESCRIPCIN
La norma NFPA 96 establece los requisitos mnimos de construccin
para la campana y el conducto en sistemas de extraccin en cocinas co-
merciales. Uno de los requisitos establece que todas las juntas deben
ser selladas con una sol-
dadura externa continua
hermtica o con dispositi-
vos mecnicos homolo-
gados que proporcionen
un cierre hermtico.
Los adaptadores de cie-
rre mecnico ANSUL
son medios mecnicos
de generar cierres her-
mticos similares a sol-
daduras en torno a pe-
netraciones de tuberas
y conductos al instalar
sistemas de supresin de
incendios en campanas y
conductos.
El adaptador "Quik-Seal"
acepta tuberas y conduc-
tos con extremos rosca-
dos (Figura 1). El adapta-
dor "Compression-Seal"
tiene un diseo recto que
no precisa el roscado
de la tubera o conducto
(Figura 2).
Estos adaptadores pro-
porcionan la integridad
estructural y la estabilidad
de una junta soldada sin
el coste ni la incomodidad
de tener que realizar la
soldadura sobre el terre-
no. Al contrario que los sopletes y los depsitos, los adaptadores de cie-
rre mecnico Ansul pueden llevarse e instalarse fcilmente en cuestin
de minutos con llaves normales.
