Introduction to the Series
According to the Emerald Tables of Thoth he was the founder of the
culture in Kemet (the Black Land) which the Greek later called Egypt.
Along with Thoth came other Netjeru guardians or watchers
who we in our culture normally call Gods. What we must understand is,
that they originally worked among the citizens of Kemet and that the
first Pharaohs were descendants of those Gods.

Kemet was divided into two main parts:

Lower Egypt (6 66 6 - Ta Mehu) - mainly the Delta - from Memphis [Mennefer] to
the Mediterranean Sea with 20 provinces (nomes). Among the symbols of Ta Mehu
was the bee (bit - ), the red crown (desret - ) and the Snake-deva (Wadjet - ).
Upper Egypt Nildalen (6 66 6 > >> > - Ta Shemau) mainly the Nile Valley but also the
desert areas around it with 22 provences. Among the symbols of Ta Shemau were the
rush (su - ), the white crown (hedjet - ) and the vulture-deva (Nekhbet - d dd d).

The ancient Egyptians believed in many different gods and goddesses. Each one of them
with their own role to play - maintaining prosperity, peace and harmony across the land.
But each of those 42 provinces had their own favourites and it was not quite the same belief
system all over the two countries ruled under the double crown.

Some gods and goddesses took part in creation, some brought
the flood every year, some offered protection, and some took
care of people after they died. Others were either local gods
who represented towns, or minor gods who represented
plants or animals. The ancient Egyptians believed that it was
important to recognise and worship these gods and goddesses
so that life continued smoothly.

The worshipping of the gods and goddesses varied over
the four most important historical periods:

1. The Old Kingdom (3rd6th Dynasties) came after the Protodynastic Period (Apprx.
3100 - 3000 BCE) and the Early Dynastic Period (1st2nd Dynasties). The Old
Kingdom is best known for the large number of pyramids, which were constructed
the first one being the Step Pyramid in Memphis' necropolis, Saqqara.
2. The Middle Kingdom (12th13th Dynasties) came after the First Intermediate
Period (7th11th Dynasties) and was again a good period for Kemet, but again decay
started and the Hyskos took advantage of that.
3. The New Kingdom (18th20th Dynasties) came after the Second Intermediate
Period (14th17th Dynasties) and could be called the Golden Ages of Egypt. Here
we find the most famous Pharaohs - Hatshepsut, Akhenaton, Tutankhamon,
Amenhotep III, Seti I, Ramesses II ("the Great") and Ramesses III.
4. The Ptolemaic dynasty (year 332 to 30 BCE) after the Third Intermediate Period
(21st25th Dynasties) and the Late Period (26th31st Dynasties). Now the Pharaohs
among them the famous Kleopatra (51-30 BCE) - were of Greek origin, but we can
thank them for leaving us many temples that we can visit today. After that the Roman
Empire prevailed, and soon Christianity took over and later Islam.

Short story of the creation of the earth in Old Egypt
At first, there was only Nun. Nun was the dark waters of chaos. One day, a hill rose up
out of the waters. This hill was called Ben-Ben.

On this hill stood Atum, the first god (creator of the universe).

Atum coughed and spat out Shu, the god of the
air, and Tefnut, the goddess of Shu and Tefnut
had two children.

First, there was Geb, the god of the earth. Then,
there was Nut, the goddess of the sky.

Shu lifted Nut up so that she became a canopy
over Geb. Nut and Geb had four children named
Osiris, Isis, Seth and Nephthys.

Osiris was the king of the earth and Isis was the queen. Osiris was a
good king, and he ruled over the earth for many years. However,
everything was not well. Seth was jealous of Osiris because he wanted
to be the ruler of the earth. He grew angrier and angrier until one day
he killed Osiris. Osiris went down into the underworld and Seth
remained on earth and became king.

Osiris and Isis had one son called Horus. Horus battled against Seth
and regained the throne. After that, Horus was the king of the earth
and Osiris was the king of the underworld.

Horus (Heru) Ruler of Egypt
The kings of Egypt associated themselves with Horus.
Horus was among the most important gods of Egypt,
particularly because the Pharaoh was supposed to be his
earthly embodiment. Kings would eventually take the name
of Horus as one of their own. At the same time, the
Pharaohs were the followers of Ra and so Horus became
associated with the sun as well.
To the people this deity became identified as the son
of Osiris. Attempts to resolve the conflicts between these
different gods in different parts of Egypt resulted in at least
fifteen distinct forms of Horus. They can be divided fairly
easily into two groups, solar and Osirian, based on the
parentage of the particular form of Horus.
If he is said to be the son of Isis, he is Osirian; otherwise he is a solar deity. The solar
Horus was called the son of Atum, or Ra, or Geb and Nut variously.

Horus is one of the most famous gods of ancient Egypt. The name "Heru" stems from
the ancient Egyptian word hr (her) which in its simple form was the preposition
"above", "upon" so Horus the falcon soars above all the land and its inhabitants, and
was the natural symbol of the King who reigns over all Egypt.

Every pharaoh was an incarnation of Horus, who according to legend conquered
Seth the evil god of Upper Egypt. Seth was god of turmoil and confusion who
murdered Osiris, Horus's father. Horus avenged his father's death and became the
god of order and justice. Therefore the pharaoh in Ancient Egypt became Horus on
earth, the ruler of the two lands (Upper and Lower Egypt).

Horus was sometimes seen as the god of the Nile Delta (Lower Egypt) and Seth as the
god of Upper Egypt, but Horus became the Symbol of Kingship and the King of
Upper and Lower Egypt because it was he who united the two Kingdoms.

Iconography
Horus is normally shown as a man with a falcon head wearing the
double crown of Egypt. Horus, represented by the hawk, was the god
of the Sky, a symbol of divine Kingship, and protector of the ruling
King. He can also be shown just as a falcon, then normally wearing
the double crown - his left eye being the moon, and the right, the
sun.

Family Relations
Horus is normally regarded the son of Osiris and Isis, and his consort was Hathor.

Cult Centers
Edfu, Butos and Heliopolis

Horus, in the shape of a falcon was worshiped in
Hierakonpolis in Upper Egypt (north of Edfu).

Archaeologists found a golden head of a falcon inside the
temple in Hierakonpolis, and the name of the city means
"City of the Hawk".

Another temple was built for Horus in the city of Behdet
(now Damnhour in the Nile Delta), where Horus was
represented in the shape of a winged Sun disk.

The modern name Damnhour itself "town of Horus"
derives from the ancient
Egyptian dmi-Hor.

The Eye of Horus (Udjat)
The EYE OF HORUS has a very specific meaning. The eye is represented as a figure
with 6 parts. These 6 parts correspond to the six senses - Touch, Taste, Hearing,
Thought, Sight, Smell. These are the 6 parts of the *eye*. The eye is the receptor of
*input*. It has these six doors, to receive data.

The construction of the eye follows very precise laws. The senses are ordered
according to their importance. And according to how much energy must be *eaten*
by the *eye* for an individual to receive a particular sensation. All of the sensory data
input is *food*.

In the Ancient Egyptian measurement system, the EYE OF HORUS represented a
fractional quantification system to measure parts of a whole. [Get a book on Egyptian
stuff or scan the internet for Egyptian Math see for e.g. "Understanding Hieroglyphs"
by H. Wilson, ISBN 0-8442-4604-2]

The entire eye measured 1 heqat. And each of the parts of the eye measured fractions
of the heqat.

These are the parts of the EYE and their corresponding associated fraction values :-
1/64 1/32 1/16
1/8 1/4 1/2
The corresponding sense data are:
1/64 heqat Touch
1/32 heqat Taste
1/16 heqat Hearing
1/8 heqat Thought
1/4 heqat Sight
1/2 heqat Smell

Also, in the Egyptian system there is the unit of the ro. And by definition 320 ro = 1
heqat. The symbol for the ro is the mouth, it represented one mouthful. Again
associating these measures with food, or input data.

Now if we consider the ro as the smallest unit of input energy needed for the input to
*register* as sense data. We note,320 = 5 x 64 and so in terms of ro we have 5 ro to
register a Touch 10 ro to register a Taste 20 ro to register a Sound 40 ro to register a
Thought 80 ro to register a Light 160 ro to register a Smell

To see how the drawings of the eye correspond to the various senses note:
1. Touch - 1/64 heqat or 5 ro

This part of the EYE represents planting a stick into the ground. Like planting a stalk
that will take root. The Earth represents touch. Planting itself represents physical
contact and touching.
2. Taste - 1/32 heqat or 10 ro

This part of the EYE represents the sprouting of the wheat or grain from the planted
stalk. It is the food we put into our mouth. And so represents taste. Taste is also =
Touch + Shape. That is to say, the different tastes we experience come from touching
different shapes. So, touch is more a fundamental sense that taste.

3. Hearing - 1/16 heqat or 20 ro

This part of the EYE represents the EAR. The figure points towards the ear on the
face. Also, it has the shape of a horn or musical instrument. When we Hear a sound
or combination of sounds we find this to be pleasing or unplesant. The sound has a
taste for us, causing a preference. Sound requires Touch + Taste and so is a
combination of the lower senses.

4. Thought - 1/8 heqat or 40 ro

This part of the EYE represents thought. We often use our eyebrows to express our
thoughts. And this facial feature is closest to that part of the forehead we associate
with thinking. We raise our eyebrows to express surprise, for example.
Thought = Touch + Taste + Hearing. If you think :) about it. Thinking is a kind of
surpressed sound. The language we think in is like the *touch* of muscle prior to
giving voice. And of course, we have a *taste* for different types of thoughts.
5. Sight - 1/4 heqat or 80 ro

This is the pupil of the EYE. And so no more needs to be said. It represents seeing, or
the sensation of light.
6. Smell - 1/2 heqat or 160 ro

This part of the EYE points to the nose. It even looks like a nose. It represents the
sensation of smell.
One of the stories about the Eye of Horus goes that when the eye was
reconstructed, all its parts were put together but no matter how much they tried they
always had one part left over. The whole was not the same as the sum of the parts

Attunement Procedure
This is by no means the only way to do it, it is just the way I do it
Prepare the room by dimming the lights, playing soft unintrusive music, light a candle
( Royal Blue, yellow or Gold for Horus) or incense etc - Relax !!!!!!
Call in your helpers, guides, God, Goddesses or Gods, Great Spirit or whoever you
relate (especially God Horus) to and ask them to help you to be a clear pure channel
to send the Horus attunement to
.and to keep you safe from all negative energies or unwanted entities
State your intention, that is to attune . to the energies of the God
Horus - Then just relax and let the energies flow.
When you feel that the energies have diminished, then you are done
If you are doing a hands on attunement ground yourself and your client and give
your client a glass of water
Remember to thank your helpers!
Enjoy!
