BREAKMINDER WATCH
INTRODUCTION
Sitting all day is not good for our health, we all know that, but when we're busy with work, it can be
hard to remember to get up and move around from time to time. There are numbers of study show
that being physially inative leads to a whole list of health problems, it can increase your risk of
cancer, diabetes, heart disease, etc.
Breakminder watch is the optimal solution to these modern problems, not only reminding you to
take those breaks that keep you productive and healthy, it also keeps tracking your health by
measuring your daily physical parameters, alert you and your doctor to issues; the watch is
connected to the cellphone by bluetooth, the collected data will be uploaded to cloud, and it can be
accessed by your doctor anytime,to help you with detecting and preventing illness.

3.1 Vision
Provide consumers an affordable and conveni ent product, to privatel y manage their
health; to continually i ntroduce best technology and, service to enhance customers'
experience.
3.2 Industry Analysis: Wearable health and wellbeing device industry

Force: High/Low: Justification:
Buyer power: High There are already a growing market for
wearable health and wellbeing i ndustry, many
products are released. (+Plastic Technologies
and Plastic Logic, 2014) Buyers have many
sources to purchase.

Supplier power: Low one of the most important supplier in our
business is online retailing store, we can pay
them to display and sell our products, and there
are thouhsands of internet retailers around the
world.
As internet is the one area of merchandising that
continues to have positive far into future, the
growth of online retailing stores will make the
competition be more intesive. (ZEILER, D.,2011)
Threat of new entrants: High The level of entry barri er is relatively low, it
does not cost too much or require much
experience, as we can outsource the
procedure of software development and watch
making to our partners.
Threat of substitutes: High There are many substitutes, visit a doctor or
health adviser on regul ar basis, to purchase an
expensive home health monitor device, etc.
Rivalry among existing
competitors:
High There are already a growing market for
wearable health and wellbeing device
industry, many firms have entered the market,
successful products like Nikes Fuel band and
Jawbones Up. It is a competitive industry.

Overall attractiveness of the industry: The industry seems not very attractive, as
increased competition; but with growing consumer interest and awareness and
increasi ng demand (Dol an, B., 2012), I believe our product with competitive advantage,
such as more sophisti cated versions wit h more functionalities, i ntegrated directly,

inconspicuously i n accessories and affordable price, could sti ll open the market
further.
3.3 Customers and Thei r Needs
We are targeting anyone who cares about their health and wellbeing; people try to
rationalise buying 'gadget baling' under the pretext of it improving their health and
wellbeing. (CCS Insight, 2014)
For expampe, "worried well", people who are healthy but are worried about becoming ill
and so take medication or see a doctor when they don't need to. (Maxwell, K., 2011)
3.4 The Product and Service
Breakminder watch can remind you to take breaks during your busy work and study, keep
you being productive and healthy; keep tracking your health condition by measuring pulse
rate, temperature and calculating your heart rate; alert you and your doctor while there are
issues, to help you with detecting and preventing illness; upload and store your helath data
to cloud, easy for your and your doctors to access.
3.5 Suppliers and Partners
Supplier 1: Big online retailing stores where can display our products for customer to
purchase; such as trade me, we pay money to trade me for displaying our products,
and we can sell online.
Supplier 2: Cloud storage service, we purchase the secured internet storage space
from them, to upload and store our data collected from users, for users or users'
doctors to access the information through the cloud.
Partner 1: We work with watch making factory who can make the breakminder
watch for us. With this partner relationship, we do not have to purchase expensive
watch production line but produce quality products.
Partner 2: Software developing company, we work with software developing
company to develop and maintain the software, to provide best technology and
service to our customers.

3.6 Strategy: Cost leadership strategy
Our business is targeting the broad market, our customers are anyone who cares and wants
to improve their health and wellbeing, there are large number of people who cares about
their health.
To provide affordable devices to the customers shows that we are focusing on low cost
strategy. The market is quite competative and its better for us to provide good product
with competative price.
The overall strategy is therefore Cost leadership strategy.
3.7 Value Chain Activity: Service after the sal e
The most important value chain activity for the business is Service after the sale.
To provide customers an optimal solution to manage their health, and continually introduce
best technology and service to enhance customers' experience, it is important to focus on
service after the sale.
For example, to collect and upload accurate data from users, alert issues to customers in
time, maintain the software to minimize errors, be responsible and flexible to any
requirements, etc. All of those above are belong to the part of service after sale, to increase
customers' satisfaction and enhance their experience.
3.8 Business Processes
3.8.1. PRODUCT RETURN PROCESS - Firstly, customer need to fill out the the RMA form; then
we will check if it is a quality issue: if not, customer support team will contact the customer
for other assistance; if it is a quality issue and the product is under warrenty, the product
failure analysis department will analyze the failure product, find out the root cause and take
corrective/preventive action; after all of this done, we will replace or credit to the customer.
The importance of this process is to provide the best service to customers, increase their
satisfaction and enhance their expierence.

3.8.2. SOFTWARE MAINTAI NING PROCESS - Users fill out the problem report form for
identified problems, the site analysis department analyze the problem and write a report;
the management team decide wheter need to update the software with this problem; if yes,
software engineering will design and code the software, then test on the new version: if
failed in testing, engineering department need to redesign the software; if pass the test ,
new version of software will be released. This process is important because we want to
provide the best technology and product to customers, to improve their satisfaction.

out the root cause by correctly locating the actual failure point, the system effectively
narrow down failure locations, and reduce the failure analysis time.

product or giving credit to customer, by correctly locating customers' needs and relative
information; ensure customer do not wait long time to receive the replacment or credit,
improve customer's satisfaction.
3.10. 3. SOFTWARE DESI GN SYSTEM - Help to design and complete an integrated set of fast,
accurate and easy to use software, to reduce the software design time, by providing full,
standards-based design and verification system.

CONCLUSION
Breakminder watch is a optimal solution to those problems caused by being physically
inactive, it is not just a watch but your best friend and 24 hours health guardian; it keeps
tracking your health condition, help you to prevent and detect illness. Our strategy is
focusing on broad market and low cost, and our target marketing is everyone who cares
about their health. Information systems in the organization help us to reduce cycle time,
improve customer's satisfaction and gain competitive advantage in the industry; so we can
achieve our vision of providing customer a convenient and affordable way to privately
manage their health, continually provide best technology and service to enhance customer's
experience.
