PREVENTION OF HEART DISEASE
INTRODUCTION
Everyday people die from various cause of disasters. Heart disease is the leading cause
death for both male and female. About 17.3 million people died from heart attacks
representing 30% of all over global deahts. Taking USA as an example, about 600,000 people
die of heart disease every year in America which means 1 in every 4 deaths. But at least
200,000 of these are preventable, ("WHO | Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs)", 2013). Heart
disease is very big problem in our sociey due to the fact that it takes away numerous
valuable lives from people such as children at school or senior survialance. (Heart Disease
Statistic, 2012.). Our device intends to benefit those at high risk and already receiving some
form of surgical treatment. The patient/customer will only be required to carry smart
phones equipped with our new divice technology that consists of electrocardiogram
machine, x-ray machine and humidity sensor. The device initiates whenever someone is
using smartphone. We decided to our device to be assimulate with smart phones because it
is protable and nowdays a lot of people carry smartphones - One in every 5 people in the
world own a smartphone (Heggestuen, 2013.). After the intiating, the EKG, chest x-ray and
humidity sensor will be started then it processes and analyse it. At last the users cardio
condition is generated and distributed back to the users from the data base.
3.BUSINESS SECTION
3.1 Vision
Vision is to heal the world by providing advanced equipment for the body health that cured
humand kind
3.2 Industry Analysis: Medical Detection Machine Industry
Industry: Our industry is a Medical Detection Machine Industry
Force: High/Low: Justification:

3

3
Buyer power:

Low If customers dont want to use the detection
machine to scan their body to indicate a
condition of disease then there would be very
few alternatives to choose such as seeing doctors
in hospital for a diagnosis which is inaccurate
(Levesque, 2014). Therefore customers have few
ways to detect their body to prevent from
diseases, making buyer power low.
Supplier power: Low The supplier power will be low as the products in
this industry need to be made of high
technological materials such as hardware
(Emspak, 2013).
Threat of new entrants: High There are high barriers to entry due to the fact
that it is relatively expensive to start up a
machine industry that requires high mechanical
skilled workers and expensive equipments. Most
traditional X-ray devices are and costly.
(University of Nebraska-Lincoln, 2013)
Threat of substitutes: Low There are very few choices to scan the body and
record heart conditions if not using detection
machines. Therefore there are few substitutions
for scanning detection instead of machine
lowers threat of subtitles.
Rivalry among existing
competitors:
High The competition between firms in this industry that
provide body scan/detection machines is high as the
numbers of firm are relatively big.

4

4
Overall attractiveness of the industry: Overall this industry is very attractive; Even though
the threat of new entrance and competition among firms is high, it has low buyer power,
supplier power, threat of substitutes.
3.3 Customers and Thei r Needs
Our main target market is senior people who have symptoms that might indicate a heart disease as
its very unlikely that students or younger children will have serious heart disease. Americas seniors
have historically been late adopters to the world of technology compared to their younger
compatriots, but their movement into digital life continues to deepen, according to newly released
data from the Pew Research Centre (Pew research, 2014.). Therefore we will be concentrating on
meeting the needs of wealth adult people who are worried about their body condition
3.4 The Product and Service
This device will provide early detection of heart attacks by monitoring of hearts electrical
activity and allow customers to fully understand their heart condition at any time, therefore
eliminating delays in receiving medical treatment which leads to life saves and improvement
quality of living. The device will also make automatic call for medical assistance if their heart
level exceeds the standard limit which improves healthcare services to at risk population.
3.5 Suppliers and Partners
Firstly we will need a supplier that is very professional at engineering tools such as micro
chips that can be attached in to smartphones. This supplier will need to be well informed
with recording devices and also be able to provide the right materials to create our idea.
Also this device needs to be assimilated with smartphones therefore we have to form a
close with major smarphone industries such as Samsung or Apple. Also we have to establish
a partnership with medical service centre that provides the data and information about
health status for heart disease. Another suppliers that we might need are accounting firm
and advertising firm which can help us to operate efficienltly and easily.
3.6 Strategy: Differentiation

5

5
The strategy for our heart attack saver industry is cost leadership that is used high cost to
broad market. This is due to the fact that in order to make this device, it requires a high
quality effort by professional workers which needs a large number of money. We want this
to be available to anyone with a smart phone to help the problem therfore we target our
product at broad market as a competitive scope.
The overall strategy is therefore Differentiation
3.7 Value Chain Activity: Technology Development
The most important value chain activity for this business is Technology Development
Technology development is the most significant value chain activity for our business. This is
because we are providing our product not only for the current generation but also next
future people to cure the world as long as we can. Technological development (and research
and development) adds value us by reducing the technological costs, maintaining technical
excellence and staying with advanced world technology. This is important to our business
because the progress of technology is continually moving forward which means the
possibility of preventing disease and saving lives is increasing rapidly. Therefore we must
absorb the innovation and provide our customers with the device they demand.
3.8 Business Processes
3.8.1. DEVICE MANUFACTURI NG PROCESS A relevent key business process is device
manufacturing process as the device requires with good quality materials from suppliers by
sending a requisition so that high skilled engineers and technologists can manufacture the
product. This process is very important because our device a is coslty and advanced product
therefore to ensure the premium quality of the product, the device manufacturing process
very significant as it should be high quality assurance to customers.

3.8.2. TECHNOLOGYCAL INNOVATION PROCESS -By investing in lastest technology, the
business can maintain technical excellence and stay with advances in the fast paced world of
technology. This process allows our business to keep up with the technology that is
constantly changing and evolving therefore we can contiunally provide our customers an
updated device with a development of up-to-date equipment and progressive scientific
knowledge.

3.9 Functionalities
3.9.1. DEVICE MANUFACTURI NG PROCESS
Receive materials from suppliers in order to manufacture the product
Create the product by machines, engineers and technologists as they receive
the materials
3.9.2. TECHNOLOGYCAL I NNOVATION PROCESS
Reasearch the current stage of modern technology
Update the device by way of information received from researchers.
3.10 Systems

3.10. 1. COMPLAINTS ANALYSIS SYSTEM - A relevant system for our business is complaints
analsis system as a specific system. They have to ensure to their customers that the device is
innovative and high quality equipment that gives accurate information of their body.
Therefore they have to get feedbacks from them customers to meet their needs.
3.10. 2. INVENTORY ORDERING SYSTEM Due to the fact that the cost of our device is very
enormous, we should make sure that we have an appropriate amount of inventory.
Therefore this system can ensure not to exceed the inventories that matches supply and
demand which will reduce the cost and enhance the productivity.
3.10. 3. TREND ANALYSIS SYSTEM By analysing the trend of technology, we can be the first
to have new technological technique to improve and update the product so it can detect the
disease more precisely. This is significant system due to the fact that customers intend to
adapt quickly to new evolution therefore if we cantt keep up with the developed
technology, then other initial competitors would have greater detection programmes for
that product.

CONCLUSION
In conclusion the present of scientific technique is evolving enormoulsy as the people adapt in to it
so our business think our product called heart saver can solve the problem of sickness . Therfore we
can help customers all over the wolrd to prevent and cure a heart disease quickly and efficiently by
using the advanced technology due to the fact that it is portable and can be used anywhere anytime.
And if this business becomes successful then we would expand our business not only detection
device for heart disase but also all kinds of disease that take numerous valuable lives from people in
the world.
