Frode looking for a new owner to his bright-orange

Are you in the market for a late sixties Ford Mustang for not too much over
100,000 dollars, then you are certainly not alone. Looking for a Mercury
Cougar in the same class, you usually far better time for you. For this is in
many ways the "forgotten" American sixties classic.
Strange, really. For Cougar was when it came in 1967, based on the
facelifted Mustang of the same year. It was a more refined and a tiny bit
bigger pony car than its far more famous cousin the Mustang, and loaded
properly was an equally competent performer with big block under the
hood.

And the appearance was the least as tough, if not tougher - with coarse
ribbed grill with hidden headlights, and as raw buttocks with "wandering"
indicators - a gimmick borrowed from the Ford Thunderbird.
A rare chance
- Yes, it's basically wonder the Mustang is so much more popular. I think
there are many who do not quite have notified that this car exists at all,
says Frode Fremmerlid in Tomra.

He has recently published its 1967 model for sale - and there is a car that
really stands out from the other cars advertised online. Not only because
it's a cougar.

Half status marked Mercury had a rather let the color palette in 1967, and
even the fresh "Calypso Coral" color that came years after the close of this
body color. It also seems that you have mixed in a little pearl to make it
"glow" a little extra, and with powerful, modern wheels with a dark gray
center will be an unusually successful mix of new and classic.
- It will be noticed in traffic, yes, says Frode, yet do not know more about
the car than it came from California to Norway in 2009.

to the more luxurious, and towards the end of his career changed him from
the pony car for personal luxury car, like Mercury's answer to Thunderbird.
Nathan's car is the first model year, and thus very similar to a Mustang to
drive. It is both fun and easy to drive, and with 240 horsepower V8 302
cubic inches - or five liters - and the faithful C4 automatic transmission, it
has exactly the powers it needs, says Frode.

Cougar was originally supplied with 289 cubic inch V8, or the big block
engines of 390 cubic inches. The entertainment factor is that always the
largest with a big block, but driving wise, the smaller and much lighter
options usually preferable.

on.
- It's a fun car, but there are too few opportunities to use it. Not least with
the weather we have here, he says, and hope there are others who are

nope, ikke vanlig med 10 liter p mila, min -69 Cougar brukte 1.1 p langkjring og 1.5 p
by kjring. ikke galt det etter min mening. 351 og 3 trins manuel. 260 Hk. mindre forbruk
enn en volvo?:-)

Hvorfor bytte til Mustang front p en Cougar... det er jo fronten som gjr bilen...

henge p en Mustang front p denne krever nok ganske mye arbeide, er ikke s mye som folk
tror som er likt mellom Mustang og Cougar, deler som er like er i hovedsak inneskjermer foran,
radiator supporten, rammevangene foran, forstilling, motor, gir, bakaksling og bremsedeler og
noen f andre deler.
Det er mye som kan se likt ut ved frste yekast, men som ikke er s like nr en begynner
sammenlikne delene nrmere, som f.eks speilet p dren, ser lik ut, men et Mustang speil
passer ikke s godt p Cougar

Her ser en mye av Mustangen. Takprofilen til HT'n mye detaljer invendig osv. Skulle ikke
forundre meg mye om det gikk henge p en Mustang front med skjermer og panser uten noe
strre modifisering.... (som vi gjorde med Manta vs Ascona en gang i tiden)

Nettopp. Har en kompis sim gjorde nettopp det med en Vauxhall. Ha fikk ikke salg
p bilen med "manta" fronten. Og da det kom inn et vrak p hggeriet var det kort
prosess. Riktig farge og greier... Blien ble solgt uka etter den var frdig husker
jeg. Forvrig er mannen i dag en serdeles flink motivlakerer :-)

Mye lekrere enn mustang! Selv om det i praksis er en mustang.. Litt som en kloning mellom
mustang og T-bird. Taket er vel hentet rett fra Birden.
Senere modeller delte vel enda mer med T-bird om jeg husker rett.
Dessuten kom de med noen saftige modeller som Eliminator og 428 Cobra Jet. Artig.

Alle skal jo ha mustang.... og 64 1/2 - 66 er ikke finere en denne 67-68 er den fineste Mustangen,
men n er ikke denne bygget for konkurere med mustang, men for gi dem som syntes
mustangen ikke var Lukseris nok
